I've never had a particular interest in murderous women, but you have me questioning things 😅. Chain-Gang All-Stars actually sounds really interesting (or at least the worldbuilding haha)
Oh I definitely feel you on Woman Eating, it's so well said 'made me feel sleepy' haha, although for me it ended up a 3 I think. It was such a great video! I thought your thoughts were very insightful, like sometimes for me it's just a vibe of 'yes' or 'no' and it you expressed things well - or in a way that made sense haha like for Woman Eating. Omg so happy you enjoyed Babel! I had a moment when you mentioned it when i was like 'oooooh' and you loved it yay!!
@@hasteyebooks I’m so glad you thought I was insightful! I had a lot of opinions about these books, so it just kinda flowed out of me 😅 And YES! Babel was literally my favorite (possibly from this whole year). I loved learning about the finer details of translation and older languages, I loved the relationships between Robin and his friends. SO GOOD!
Fair enough with Necroscope. It's not for everyone. If anyone can finish the book after the early scene of the Russian psychic torturer tormenting the souls of the dead for information by defiling their corpses...I have much respect. Few get much further than that. And the book only gets more messed up from there. And the series gets FAR more messed up from there. Every time I had thought Lumley had gone as far down the rabbit hole of depravity he could go...He found a way to do more. And most of his other books are so cute and fluffy. Or pure cosmic horror. It doesn't get much more visceral than the Necroscope series.
