It's a whole genre of games. Stardew wasn't the first farming sim.

​@@yuukiygo5327Stardew Valley doesn't have the whole travel between planet thing and there's also things in gameplay that are different. The fishing and catching insects system is completely different and new, there are things in the gameplay that are the same but why would you change them if you already work? It's similar bc it's the same gender but I don't see how this can be a Stardew Valley mod having so many different things

@@lalip0p_ You know, this is the most eloquent explanation I’ve read, and I can agree that if something works, it doesn't necessarily need to change. However, the mechanics of planting and resource gathering aren't just the same, the assets are basically copied and just changed to a different color... and since that's the core of the game (I guess, I haven't played it), I can't help but see it as a copy.

Stardew valley is just a harvest moon clone.
