Very interesting, in Finland our Sauna traditions date back thousands of years. An Entity called Tonttu posesses Saunas, an entity of positivity. Birth is given there, the deceased are washed there. We go there and jump into the river after it, even in winter :) It is a sacred place, trades were made there. Its a place to discuss deep topics as well.

No one gives birth in a sauna nowadays nor do they wash the deceased there nowadays nor do they believe in the gnomes nowadays, you said it in a way that makes it sound like thats still the case

I do wonder if there is a connection between the ancient peoples. I hope to visit Finland one day, I have been fascinated by the Sauna traditions, I sense a lot of magic and have a distant ancestral connection

It’s good to hear this as I was just going to comment on the Scandinavian sauna in Sweden for my family is from. I am uploading a video. I just filmed about building a lodge on my property.

I had the opportunity to be included in two Lakota sweats. My partner's sister was marrying a Lakota and her brother was her nearest family. The first was for cleansing and the second for cleansing in preparation for a flesh offering. While waiting for the rock to get hot enough some of the men went into the hills. There were chants, songs, and quiet. It is a cherished memory. I was asked many times if I was on my moon. I guess they wanted to be sure I understood and was honoring their sacred tradition. Now I wonder what power the women had.

I’ve never been in a Dineh sweat lodge but I have been in a Lakota sweat lodge and I have tended the fire. To me it looked a lot like a turtle and it is put together in such a way as to compel you to humble yourself so that you must kneel to go in and the saplings are crossed over in such a way as to create a morningstar pattern at the top which you can see when the stones are brought in the red glow is amazing and just as in the others there are things that are discussed and songs and prayers inside that stay inside. They have the tradition of the pipe as well when you are praying and exhaling. Period after doing a long session with an old man and his son one time I was very humbled when I left and it was all I could do to crawl upon the earth out into the open and I just laid on top of the earth. I won’t discuss all the things that I saw and heard and happened but it was a very important experience for me And it opened my eyes

This is the exactly the kind of content that is guaranteed to put a smile on my face. Listening to a practioner describing a technique that I have personal experience of. There is also a chuckle. There is an aspect of Sweat Lodge and sauna that is easy difference that marks northern versus southern practioners. That moment I describe as when you physical enact what you fondly desire, and deliberately step from the Sweat Lodge temperature to the average Canadian winter temperature when I was 20 (-20F range was what I liked best for pushing bush). It also readily points out possible origins of practical wisdom: Ya gotta watch when they come out, cause one of them is gonna pass out.

I am building one in my backyard, it's a dugout I've been digging for years. It's almost time to stop digging and enclose things. As it is now, I call it my meditation cave. I appreciate the act of negation, by moving rocks, sand and gravel I'm creating space and repurposing its contents to build cairns and other rock structures like gardens borders and even a pond waterfall.

This is to add a horrifying statement. The CEO of the Nestle Company was getting water from cities in California that were under water restrictions for inhabitants. They have been caught with pipes accessing water on park lands, like the Appalachians, carried and transferred out of the park and presumably stored elsewhere. When the CEO was asked about taking water in underhanded ways, taking it from others, his response was this. "Water is a privilege, not a right." There is coming a day when we have to pay for the water we drink. Not just processing, but the actual water Nestles has stolen from the earth's resources.

Hot and sweaty Middle East, Mohammad spent time in a cave. Jesus was tempted by the devil after 40 days and nights of fasting in the Judaean Desert. At the time, Satan came to Jesus and tried to tempt him. Jesus having refused each temptation, Satan then departed and Jesus returned to Galilee to begin his ministry. During this entire time of spiritual battle, Jesus was fasting.

God forbid you have to deal with a transgender matter
@feezlfuzzl564
@feezlfuzzl564 3 года назад
These aren't transgender "matters"--these are people. People that God loves, that He died for, that He wants to adopt. He is not willing that any should perish. So remember that when you think or talk about them. Do you think transgender people would feel loved, if they knew how you talked about them?
@feezlfuzzl564
@feezlfuzzl564 3 года назад
I wanted to add: Are you speaking from experience? Did someone you love come out as transgender? I can help you patch things up with them, without compromising your faith. Please let me help you--or anyone reading this. Thank you.

We had two spirited (transgender people) in our communities. They’re quite respected. They were leaders, they were teachers. Some leaders include Bíawacheeitchish, Osh-Tisch, We’Wha, Hastiin Klah and many, many more. So it’s not god forbid. It’s may god bless and respect and peace be brought to their names.
