I am so excited for you Margarete. Looking forward to watching you add to your studio and of course, to the art you will create there. Thanks for sharing.
Wow!! Your new space is lovely!! I'm so happy for you to have space to spread out and work. Thank you for taking us on a tour. I look forward to seeing how you continue to decorate and settle in. I don't have suggestions ... my space is not very organized. But I have several pieces from my childhood, so those bring me joy. My work table is the first kitchen table my parents got when they were married in 1956. It holds so many childhood memories for me as it was the space I always used for craft projects. Thanks again for sharing. ❤
I have watched on TV tiny houses being built and thought they were so cute you’re very lucky to have one and you can use it for a crap what a great idea you’re going to have fun deciding where everything goes I always thought it was a great idea to put drawers under the stairs maybe instead of moving your China cabinet you could find a small covered to go in your space enjoyed watching your video I really like the little box you made to hold all your treasures.❤
Congratulation on your new little cabin! I love it ! I am envious! You will be very happy there creating your wonderful collage art ! Best wishes. Love the post cards collection too! They are beautiful and so inspiring !
So exciting! You get to spread your wings so to speak. That is a great idea and happy for you. I think with you having to organize in your laundry room you will definitely make this work with your special touches that will make you happy to be there. It’s always fun to do things like this. I think that is why I seem to be always reorganizing my space. Or either I am just cray cray! But I love to organize! Anyway have fun and can’t wait to see your end results! Happy collaging! 💜 Oh and I love that post card drawer situation you made! You know we all are gonna want you to make another one on camera. I think I must have! Lol hugs
I need to find the directions for making that drawer box! I'll look for it to see if I can plan to make one while filming. Thanks for watching, Connie! ❤️
Hi Margarete, I am so happy for you! This is such a great space already, I'm sure you will have lots of fun adding this and that to create your own cozy, creative space. I love those deep drawers in the stairs! Bookcases are great for the obvious and also smaller clear containers or pretty boxes with labels - like the ones for photos at Michael's (turned sideways) you can stack them depending on the space between shelves. Looking forward to an update whenever you're ready.🥳enjoy this journey!
Cool tiny house! ❤congrats! So glad you moved out of laundry room-you deserve this space! You look so happy there! 🤗 I love that thing that has cards in too & secret drawers 😍
I have a dining hutch in my studio. The shelving is completely enclosed, with glass doors on top. It holds so much! Love it, strongly recommend as studio furniture.
Hi Margrete, I am so jealous! How exciting to have a space like that, all brand new! You didn’t mention if you would be putting a mattress in the area under the loft. If not, I was thinking of some small rolling carts that would be easily accessible, perhaps to hold things like acrylic paints, stencils, rubber stamps. Also , not sure if you have any higher wall space available to maybe install some floating shelves to store your completed journals. I can’t imagine you parting with them. 🙂
Thanks for your suggestions, Sharon! I have one rolling cart to the right of my desk. It was hard to see in the video. I was also thinking about floating shelves. I need to find a solution for my rubber stamps.
A She Shed! :) So cozy! I would be taking many naps down in the reverse loft. So you used to be a quilter but you don't quilt anymore? I am new to collage and am exploring all your videos, coming from a quilting and knitting background. That is so exciting to have a new space to work in. Your stand up area in the laundry room was so tiny! But it just shows you can work anywhere. I do most of my crafty stuff in my dining room.
Yep. I used to quilt. I took some classes and made a few nice ones, which I still have. Maybe I'll bring one into the tiny house! Thanks for the idea 😉👍🏻💙
I love the way you are shining and smiling. I saw the other video off your old working place and I decided never to complain about my own space. I'm very happy for you that you have a beautiful space now!❤
How exciting and how cool to turn a tiny house into your new studio! I've watched many tiny house shows, and no one ever had that idea. I totally agree about being mindful as you decide what to move. I'm only moving my stuff between bedrooms but can make it my own. I plan to donate a lot of it to a Creative Reuse store here.
What a great space! Do you plan to use it as a tiny house sometime in the future? I would love a series on how to make the storage box holding your postcards (hint😉).
What a great space!!! I was thinking you had a she-shed but this is 100x better! Can’t wait to see what you do with it. I don’t have any ideas but had to say well done!
Wow! Congrats on your own crafting space! Enjoy!!! I’m still trying to figure out the best way to organize. I love wooden boxes but clear seems to be best for me.
How exciting!! It's a beautiful, creative space! Instead of a hutch, what about a vintage breakfront? Maybe a hutch would give you more storage space, but a breakfront might fit better in the small space(?). Look for one at the thrift store, flea market, etc. Can't wait to see your progress!
I wish I could send you a picture of what I'm thinking of. Sometimes the words hutch, breakfront and china cabinet are used interchangeably, so when you Google breakfront sometimes you see images of huge china cabinets. Hopefully you will find some examples of the smaller breakfronts that I am referring to. Good luck!
Ich freue mich so für dich ❤ du hast einen wundervollen Platz gefunden und wirst ihn im Laufe der Zeit perfekt für dich einrichten ❤ Ganz liebe Grüße Susanne
Love your space! If you aren't going to use the toilet or shower in that bathroom, why not take them out but keep the sink; you need to be able to wash your brushes and supplies - grey water can just go onto a gravelled area on the lawn (or into a bucket you can empty). If you want that whole area for storage, can you put a sink someplace else?
A little house, what a great idea for your studio. It's looking beautiful. Love the postcards. Do you use a printed postcard (back) or do you just make your own? I'm not sure how I would want to go with this. Looking forward to seeing your studio with curtains.
Oh my goodness, aren’t we all a bit jealous???? Well yes ,. yes we are., How wonderful for you, can’t wait to see more videos about how you organize and decorate! Congratulations. I love it ❤❤❤❤❤
Dear Margaret Miller, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR New STUDIO!!!! You deserve it! Wow!! I am so happy for you💕💕💕 You are an inspiration for so many of US Artist!!
Hi Margarete. So happy for you! Having a space where you can truly play without interference from household activities is magical to the process. Creative Blessings!
Yay, your space looks awesome! You will love it. It will certainly get your creative juices flowing, having a much nicer outlook. Enjoy the process of filling it up.
Margarete!! so nice to have a video of yours to watch. Happy to see that you're in a creative space that you can call your own. Postcards are awesome.!! 💕
I am thrilled and so happy for you, Margarete! I can envision you spending many happy hours in here creating and dreaming. Thank you SO much for sharing this with all of us.😍❤
So happy for you to have a art studio. It will make such a huge difference for you. A nice thing is if you need to, you can leave project, that you are eorki g on. Instead putting them away. What I did was, instead of a desk I have a large wood table. I furnished my studio with Wicker furniture. It feels cozy to me and a total change from the rest of our home. May you enjoy your studio for many years to come.🎨🖌
How exciting to have your own space in the garden. I admired you for the way you produced all that wonderful art in such a tiny cubbyhole for so long. Be inspired, hugs
Thanks, Anne. I guess it's possible to create pretty much anywhere! I appreciated the laundry room for the time I was there, but I'm glad to get out 😉💙👍🏻
That is the cutest ever! Thanks for taking us on a tour. I like your idea of taking your time to live with it for awhile and make sure you are bringing in the pieces that you love and are right for the space. Always love seeing your beautiful art as well. :)
What a lovely space you have now. It must be so relaxing to be able to sit and craft now instead of standing in your laundery space. I wish you thousands of happy hours in your tiny house ❤.
Hi Margarete! congrats for your new space. I´m getting involved in collage art. I want to express creativity. I hope I can find a lot of joy in this activity. You are a good teacher. Thanks for your videos.
Congratulations having a new home for crafting Margarete! Tiny house with all that creativity, that's fun! My crafting space is mostly made with Ikea items and it works well, even my organization could be better. Have fun making your own pretty house! xx
Congratulations on having your own special art retreat! It is beautiful …. looks like a wonderful place to reflect & create! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Congratulations on your tiny home space. That is so awesome! I have been telling my husband that I need a tiny house. I may have to show him this video. Have fun moving in and figuring it all out.
How wonderful to see you so happy and excited. Congratulations on your new space! It is very smart of you to take your time and only move than what you really want and I'll in your art world. I haven't really noticed before but you look like you have a new hairstyle and I really like it. It makes you look younger
Oh yay a video! Congrats on your new space, how awesome I love it! Think ya need a small stand to right of brown door with a favorite plant lol love your ideas can't wait see the final results.
This is amazing! I've been wondering about your crafting space. It's been inspiring me to organize mine. I think I'm going to create some drawers, etc so it's functional art. Do you mind sharing info on the Collage collective? Is it a FB group or a list where I could also trade? I would love to get other people's postcards, etc as inspiration
I used to have a Facebook Group but I got tired of all the ads and awful posts there, so I created my own separate network with no ads, and collage art ALL the time 😉. That's the Collage Art Collective (collective.margaretemiller.com). We do have exchanges set up through there. Make sure you get on my mailing list and I'll let you know when is the next exchange. Link is in the description of most videos. ❤️
I have thought about doing this as well. My concern was lighting and plumbing, and possibly needing a permit. A friend of mine loves her tiny house. Congratulations on your new space! It will be fun to see how this develops!
I have a tiny space in our mountain cabin and saw that table on sale. Needless to say, I ordered it immediately. Live the size, the wheels, and the adjustable height. Your space is a treasure.
@@reginaeid1568 can't think of the name, but Home Depot carries it. It is a heavy duty work table and there are several sizes available. Mine is 48x24. Perfect for my space.
I think I commented on this video before, but again! Many congrats on your new space. It seems so serene. I think a shelf is necessary for your journals and your collection of stamps. Do you like to keep your inks on your desk? I ask because I am trying to figure out what to keep on my desk and what to put into a bin for storage. Looks amazing though!
Hi Juliana, I'm working on shelving right now. I have a very shallow space, right next to the door, and so we need to cut the shelves to size to make it fit. I'll have 8 shelves that I can use for rubber stamps. For books, I'm repainting an old hutch cabinet that is the right size. There will be plenty of space for books. I try not to have anything on my desk because once I allow stuff to stay, then everything stays and I end up with a mess that is hard to really clean up. Plus, I have found that I am more productive with a totally clean desk. 👍🏻
Sounds like you have a plan! Can’t wait to see the hutch with the new color. I like your idea of keeping your desk empty but I see some acrylic trays. Do you keep your desk completely empty? This is a long-standing issue for me and I recently purchased different things to contain the stuff I keep on my desk. It’s too much stuff and I need to at least cut it back. Will write you!❤
