This bridge was hastily constructed a few days earlier and washed out, and then constructed again one day earlier, and washed out. Coincidentally (not) last night there was an insanely loud, inconsiderate, horrific jungle rave party that required hundreds of pickup truck loads of loud, drunk adolescent foreigners to be trucked back and forth across this point in the river into the jungle to party right next to a whole bunch of farmers and other people who live here and need to sleep and wake up early in the morning in order to make food for themselves and survive. Now, after the bridge has failed, it is about 10 times harder than it used to be without any bridge to cross here. Many farmers, schoolchildren, locals, and others need to cross here every day. As you can see, the failed bridge is also dumping plastic sandbag trash into the river. Thailand encourages us to believe in the wheel of karma.
