Eh that’s not true, The Soviets/Russians make “medium” tanks while NATO makes some really heavy ranks. Soviet and Russian designs, even with full ERAs, are always lighter than NATO tanks, the Soviet designs and their successors usually weigh around 40-48 tons but never more than 50 tons so they are easier to transport and won’t destroy bridges etc. I doubt that T-72 with add on Turtle shell would be more than 50 tons. but since it doesn’t seem to be standardized kit, I could be very wrong. Abram, the A1 is like 60+ tons while A2 can get over 70 tons with some kits, Leopard 2 is around 62 to 66 tons and challenger 2 is around 64 but with add on stuff it can weight to more than 70+ tons., only the french Leclerc is around 50s tons since the French are smart enough to use autoloader.

​@@Alex-ee5pl from what the OP said it would be very cost effective and strategically it would save lives...and really there should be no thoughts about cost when it comes to the lives of your troops.

It isn't bombs that is taking out their tanks or ATGMs it is drones. But they still need the mobility and break through. The turtle armor is working because it is like cage armor added to the sides of vehicles to protect from tandem charge ATGMs. It is protecting from aerial drones.

@@Robert53area you guys are all missing the point. the heavy tank which i mentioned will have no turret ( just imagine sturmtiger) very slow speed but super thick armour all around. it will move 100 meter in front of the assault unit to clear minefield and also sponge everything defending force can throw at it. (drone included) this way not only defending force concentrate and waste fire on the tank and away from the rest of the assault group, they also show their position for the rest of the group.
