If you record with OBS, look into a plugin that records gameplay and camera separately, which makes it easy to move the camera freely when editing the video.
Honestly, I think the over-detailing and the extreme amount of features is more a testament to the VRC devs' commitment than anything. They have passion for these projects to the point where they want the car to be accurate to such a fine point that no normal person would see/care about it.
I love the customizability of this mod a lot. Being able to switch steering wheels and their shift light patterns is a big plus for me that is not represented in many mods
I like how far they are pushing what is possible in AC; super interesting on a technical level. A car of this level of complexity makes me wonder whether there's an existing racing league/scene where there's a driver and race engineer combo that isn't at the e-sports level. You'd never expect to drive an F1 car in real life without a race engineer to help with setup and car management. A mod that's so hardcore on the simulation elements like this feels like it could fulfil a niche where an engineer can maximise the setup and potential of the car for a given track and the driver can focus on exploiting that potential
Honestly I would love to be an engineer for a driver/team and help with setups and in race settings. Go over the track with the driver and discuss what he wants from the car, etc... That opens up a lot of possibilities for league racing.
@@zestyquestman8378 yeah, I think it would really add to it. Racing IRL is such a team sport and that element of it doesn't seem to be captured that much
Crazy how VRC manages to improve every time they release a car, they nail it every single time, and that one is simply brilliant. As most people I won't be able to use most of the features of that car, but I'm very glad they're here for the sake of realism. Thanks for the review Mike)
I really think that this is what simracing needs. Cars like this begin to scratch an itch that wasn't really achieved before. This is flight sim level of detail that Formula 1 cars should represent. If AC had means to run an immersive race with decent AI and some automated engineering that could help setting up the car, this could've been a perfect setup for the best F1 simulator available to the public. The car is amazing, in comparison to previous iterations, this one does some more automation with preset battery modes. If we had some more aids that could help the player to navigate the car usage to its full capability, this could turn competitive with no time. I wish that in the near future we will be able to have simracing activities that would decently support online racing with such complex cars.
Man VRC is just absolutely shattering all doubts whenever they drop a new car. The only unfortunate thing about this is that LFM will still probably just race the 2023 version of the car, and its hard to find leagues using this car.
VRC have been killing it lately with their last batch of mods, they found something special in their FFB development because the hypercars and now this mod has been such a blast to drive, massive improvement over FA 2023.
I noticed the improvement in ffb in this car compared to the 23 version. A few laps at spa and I was able to get low 43s so definitely a fun car to drive. Good video. They need to make a new IndyCar as well.
This is confirmation that RSS has officially fallen behind in a segment they have monopolized since 2017. What a car VRC has created here, I love the improvements they made. The addition of things like the car control windows and visual deploy adjustments help so much in ease of setup and use compared to FA23.
I love your VRC showcases so much! Thank you for the in-depth review as always! You’re my first stop when I get lost with the intricacies of these mods!
Great review again, Mike. VRC never miss, the best modding group for AC out there imo. One suggestion I'd like to make, could you use a bit higher of an FoV? The current one looks always too close to the wheel in your videos, it's a little distracting. Cheers!
Great vid! To all, if you have a midrange pc and race AI, consider driving csp and make the field non-csp for big fps gain and smoother ops; at least that was the case for me. I do the same with the TA2 Dodge.
This is what an F1 only game should be about. You have the benefit that you don't need to simulate anything else so go wild on the depth. Of course EA will never do this, but a man can hope.
F1 could just give out two licenses. One for EA to do a mass market game and one for a pure simulator maybe so that Assetto Corsa can build them into the new Evo game.
Just finished a few laps of my own in this car. WOW. It feels good, and a bit more challenging. Feels like they did work with the feedback feel of this one.
Purchased and shaken down at Mugello and Spa. Great car and great price...only a few dollars more than standard versions of other VRC open-wheeled models. Well worth the price.
Nice run through, Mike. Just got this yesterday, out of the box it seems even a bit more planted than the 2023 too. Also out of the box, it seemed to pick up more track detail and in general more FFB. I’m using the CSL DD and it felt like I put my DD1 back on. Hope you’re doing well, take care.
Thanks for this information about the new F1 MOD from VRC. I haven't purchased a VRC MOD for quite a while from them- they do great F1 MODs. I think the last MOD I got was a Indycar F1 vehicle since I like watching the Indycar series on TV and for Assetto Corsa have all the tracks to doing Indycar racing. The only other game that allows me to do this is RFactor 2 which I have all the tracks in that game. Thanks for your video.
@@SimRacing604 You have 8 strats which you can customize. The number simply represents which strat you are currently using out of the 8 that you have. By default, strat 1 has no deployment, strat 2 has max deployment and strat 3 has mid-high. The rest are blank, but all of them are customizable to make them be whatever you want.
@@SimRacing604 FirstName was partly correct. In the Deployment Strats tab of the companion app, you can see the deployment zones for all strats. As you change strats on that tab, you will see the map change. The maps are automatically configured to give a baseline deployment map, starting with Strat 1 being the most deployment, and all following strats after will be less and less deployment.
I tried the 2022 version and having the porpoising happening (as accurate then ofc) threw me off, I didn't know how to begin fixing it 😆 Looks cool though, nice job Mike. I'll probably stick to the more straightforward AMS 2 version 😛
to watch around the car while in pit go in race drive 2 meters and go back pit with the escape button and then press F5 you'll be able to turn around the car with the mouse
Great review, great car. I think though for now i will run the none CSP version just to get into some practice. Its probably the most over complicated car there is in sim racing and i thought the LMU hyper cars were a touch fussy. How many are going to use the full fat features of this car?
I thought the plank was quite a cool idea. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do with it (possibly the setup can impact it?) and also they seemed to say that there is an audio sound for the plank scraping and maybe you have to ease off your driving at that stage. Fun anyway.
It’s mainly there to prevent the car from being set up too low. IRL the car will be disqualified if going over this limit, and in AC the best thing we can do is make all subsequent laps invalid.
Hey Mike.I notice in the video your physical wheel (Moza) is not displaying the RPM LED's in relation to rev range. Is there a reason for this? I seem to have the same issue with Moza FSR and VRC Formula Alpha... 2024...
Thank you! As Mike said, you don't have to use them, can just hop in and enjoy anyways :) Not tinkering with the setup or settings will not result in a lesser experience compared to if these features had been left out.
@@imrimike759 VRC work is mega top. I think it's difficult to do better. RSS is another vision that i like too. My point finally i'll buy it more to support (and use it ofc) that to have function i will never use, so 2023 car is enough for me (i already have 2024 car skin on 2023 and i'm not fast enough to see real differences between 2023 et and 2024)
Does anyone know how i can assign control bindings using the extended controls app? When i run the app i get a list of controls with yhe ignition and start at the bottom but no way to assign bindings?
I need to know, what is the best sim game for modern f1 racing v ? I use automobilista 2 and live it but hey, if there’s something better I wanna try at least
@@F-Man Eloquent. Enlighten me: what are the notable differences between the FH22 and FH23 aside from more polygons, 2 extra rear wings and an extra nose? RSS's modelling is top notch, no doubt about that, but I don't buy these cars to put in the showroom, I buy them to race and the F1 experience is just lacking with RSS' cars compared to VRC nowadays. RSS needs to step up their game.
@@VVCepheiii Considering Max Verstappen on Team Redline stream called FH23 "really good" car, it is enough for me to assume it is realistic implementation of the F1 car. He didn't say a word about VRC. The fact something is more challangeing to drive does not mean it is more realistic.
@@nmelol No, he said the differential of the FH22 car was wrong. RSS made changes in the FH23 car to reflect this, but Max never commented on the FH23 so we don't know if the changes worked. Fact remains that RSS doesn't properly simulate the systems of an F1 car. They copied the ERS model of the Kunos Ferrari SF70H, a 2017 car with overly simplified ERS modelling. Even the iRacing F1 ERS model is more realistic and that's also a simplified version.
It’s cool and I appreciate their work but AC is still not much more than a driving simulator. I want to race them bad boys. Hopefully Evo is an actual game where racing is fun.
Nice mod. But It's crazy how the low fov you uses nearly instantly triggers my motion sickness. Even tho I'm absolutely fine driving in AC for hours, at higher FOV.
Allow myself to disagree with VRC's approach and even RSS's approach to these new F1 cars. I think they could've done their own take on the new regulation and just keep updating it, instead of making new cars every single year. I understand that these new features take time and a lot of study to implement, but either way, that's my opinion and I know most won't agree with it. I'd prefer if they dedicated more of their time to the new Hypercars from WEC (I'm aware that they are releasing them as time goes by).
@@fga00090 I don’t disagree. While I think the FA24 is phenomenal, I would rather have something from WEC/IMSA. Once the new regulations take effect in F1, then I’ll be more excited for the next VRC/RSS release
So much cool stuff for AC just a shame the A.I. is total garbage, the fact that i enjoy AC videos yet never play the sim says it all, the game is just a TT simulator.
@@marijn17s For one: iRacing's hybrid modelling is nowhere near realistic. It's overly simplified and comes nowhere near VRC's implementation as far as realism is concerned. You set it to Balanced in iRacing and leave it there until maybe the last half lap where you set it to Attack. There's something off with the brake balance too. The fast setups all have BBALs of ~50% where as IRL they typically used 54-56% (and yes I checked BMig). Lets not even mention the complete lack of flat spotting, graining, tearing, you name it: iRacing only offers generic tyre wear. So to say the W12/W13 is the most realistic, maybe in terms of performance and feedback compared to the real thing, but definitely not in terms of how the car's systems are simulated.
