Absolutely! Been listening to Dany’s/House Targaryen’s scores for years and I’ve always felt that Ramin was truly passionate about them. So excited to see what he comes up with next! :D
Very disrespectful comment. This video has freaking George RR Martin, a legendary and genius fantasy writer and you call Ramin's score the legend? Pfft
@@abdullahbhinder9023 Well....yes considering no one has ever found fault with Ramin's scoring of the series...from s1 to s8 there has never been any negatives for Ramin...and many are happy that he is returning to keep the same style even if slightly different similar to John Williams and Star Wars. The video was not just about GRRM but also the cast and crew but if that's what you got from my comment then whelp.
@@crystala6338 I just dont like how people shower praises on Ramin when so many other people also did excellently to make GOT the hit it is. It is a much bigger deal that GRRM hinself is involved than Ramin being involved. George's involvement adds an element of authenticity. Ramin's score weren't too impressive in earlier seasons. They were good but not excellent. But he is great and am integral part of the show so I do have respect for him. I just don't think calling him the only legend in this video is a fair call.
If you think this show is not going to subvert your expectations, you clearly haven’t read the books that it is adapting. This entire universe is about subverting expectations. He was talking about making changes from books to screen, but they are going to make tons of changes. We are already seeing them and the show isn’t even out yet.
"You have to start by respecting it, you can't do different for different's sake." Wow, that line sold me and boosted the trust I had in them ! They are going to put out the next biggest tv show of the world. Edit: 4th episode of the show and I'm calling it quits, awful show.
@@kinglumption that's true, and as a black person; I'm not happy that they changed it to appease a certain demographic, and by certain - I don't mean myself. One thing you need to learn about the media is that they will always engineer a divide between the people - to some blacks, this might be "good" or "inclusive of us" but the media likely see it a different way, they know how annoyed everybody else will get by them changing the characters ethnicity, and it makes it look as though we "pressured" them into it, to "get our way because of how we were treated in the past" Yes, I'm not happy about the change and would rather keep it authentic as the books intended; but people need to stop playing into their devices and silly little narratives which only serve to fuel this unnecessary divide.
@@LousySob yes, the do have scripts. In fact GRRM has literally went over every draft of the scripts to make sure the writing is the best it can possibly be. He said this himself. You’re the one being naive.
Grrm 2015: " I will do nothing until winds is delivered " Grrm 2022: " I'm involved in this, this, this, this, this and this. But I wrote a tyrion chapter!"
get woke go broke there was no black targeryan in the books . they are forcing diversity down our throats by changing the ethncity of one charachter who was white in the books forcing politics and white man haters messages
like every team who works on a show and talks passionately and hypes up their projects even if they end up being complete trash? Ive never seen a team talk bad about the project theyre promoting
@@pkrmkn31 Well all the actors on Game of Thrones season 8 were strongly suggesting how much of catastrophe it was going to be. Some even said it out straight. You feel it when there is passion involved in most cases. Thats why everyone hated on D&D in the 'Inside the Episode' Videos
Not even close, the throne should look like an extremely tall bush made of metal blades that is also in the shape of a chair. They just made the design uglier.
@@deodarhill It was a Civil War in Westeros history that helps explains why dragons were essentially extinct till Daenerys Targaryen’s dragons were born nearly 200 years after the Dance of Dragons ended
2 Factions within the Targaryen family fight each other off to get the preferred person on the iron throne. And those both factions basically have a few mighty dragons. I think one or two of them are even bigger and stronger than drogon. And they get basically into a war for succession after the king dies. At the start of the first season this king is still alive as far as I can tell. Probably we will see how both factions constitute, see some of the dragons and maybe the start of the war at the end of season 1.
@@fate2193 Drogon wasn't fully grown. A fully grown Drogon is Balerion 2.0. Vheagar was fully grown during the Dance of The Dragons, that's why she was bigger than Drogon...
The best thing is that the history of this show is already complete, and even tho there's 21 dragons in it, politics and drama is the mainly thing in HoTD, even more than in GoT I would say.
I know last two seasons were disappointing but Game of thrones is still the best fantasy show ever made. I can't wait to explore more stories of that world through House of Dragon
@@Name-yo6lf This. They were far worse than the previous 4 seasons, but that's such a hard bar to meet. The first 4 were the best seasons of television ever made. Seasons 5 and six weren't great but they had a lot of good moments. And even though they fucked the show up, it doesn't undo how amazing it was in the beginning. This show is a chance for a fresh start, and it looks like they're going to nail it!
1:00 only in this scene we can see that they will correct errors in GOT in the coloring of the dragon bones that in the books are black. This makes me happy and confident that they are doing a good job for the fans of the book and the seriousness in which they are taking the first season of HOTD.
Only people heartbroken by season 8 are people, who couldn’t see the writing on the wall….the ending is what George told them it would be lolol it was clear from season 4 on that’s the direction it was going. Y’all need to quit crying just because D&D didn’t pick YOUR fanfic to finish it.
@@otda3675 What? The whole ending would have been alright if it wasn't rushed out like crazy. With more time to actually develop, it wouldn't have felt so lazy.
@@otda3675 People aren’t mad about the ending per se, yes George told them something along the lines of what would happen. But the way it was done and how rushed and poorly done it was plays a factor. Also Bran, Arya killing the Night King…like. Season 8 made terrible decisions. So you can wipe the sweat off your forehead now because no one is going to change their opinion based off of your lame comment .
I love the subtle distancing from Dan and Dave. "Im involved in this" George R.R. Martin "Its great to have Ryan, someone who really knew my work" George R.R. Martin "I think im in good hands with Ryan and Miguel" George R.R. Martin Just a suggestion but ide like to see Dan and Dave return for a cameo where they're hung at the gallows.
Dave and Dan did a phenomenal job with the show, they just botched the landing. Why do you completely ignore 6 season of greatness for 2 seasons of disappointment?
@@donkeydarko77 It wasn’t 6 seasons of greatness. Maybe 4 seasons of greatness at most, 5 was ‘mediocre’. 6 was just severely underwhelming and the last episode was the best thing about that season. Half of the show was great, the other half ruined Dorne, the Tyrells and the Targaryens.
"You have to start by respecting it, you can't do different just for different sake" --- YES! Where was this energy with Star Wars? This will make an epic addition to GOT.
I think the thing I am most concerned over are the scenes in between the major historical beats we see in the Fire & Blood history book and how well that'll fit into the story. When Game of Thrones went off script sometimes it was a hit (Arya & Tywin, Robert & Cersei scenes) and sometimes it wasn't. Fire & Blood is a history book told by a maester and not POV characters like in Ice & Fire so this should be interesting to see how they fill out what happens in between major events. But props to them this does look good, am definitely excited.
@RedTeamReview True, they have to fill the world with minor characters and natural dialogue that would never be mentioned in the Fire and Blood history book. Characters like Podrick and Bronn, Shae, Ser Rodrik, Brienne - GoT and ASOIAF have so many characters that make the story and world rich and colourful that wouldn't be mentioned by history books, all of which would need to be added by the show runners to capture the same vibe as GoT S1-4. And almost all the dialogue too. There is a lot of work for the writers to do but also a lot of freedom. This could be a good thing or a bad thing. I'm not worried but I'm not letting my hopes get up either.
Since the characters are not given much depth in the original source material, the show can flesh them out by inventing things that happen in between the major beats and that means they are free to shape the characters much more to the showrunners' own interpretation of the story than the entitled book purists might like, even though what they have on the page is not much, since it's not told from the characters' POV. If it makes the book purists mad, I'm all for it at this point honestly because their limited tolerance for artistic flexibility stifles artistic creativity in a lot of ways.
I actually think this is going to be a benefit to the show. The writers are going into it knowing that this is the case, and they have less of a crutch to rely on like D&D did during the earlier seasons. We don’t really have to worry about the writing diverging from George’s vision too much because it’s a different type of adaptation. It’s more like adapting historical events (think Chernobyl miniseries) rather than adapting a beloved book series which is much more difficult to do justice.
we know how the story ends don't get your hopes up, there was never a queen on the iron throne not until cersei and daenerys for very brief time, all though daenerys never had a chance to sit on the throne.
@@genericuser-1 go woke or go broke. The directors already changed a main house to all black because quote “we didn’t want a bunch of white people on screen”. Exactly what amazons LOTR: TROP is doing. And then they wonder why it’s failing. They literally have an entire region of brown and black people (Dorne) and all of essos but they palette swapped for wokeness. And this is coming from a “minority”
@@myamdane6895 Yes. But he's insinuating we know how it ends. But what is the end? It's all relative. Does our real life history have an end? Something to philosophize about.
@@TSEliot1978 They've been doing that for years now. It doesn't have to have a reason, it's just the thing to do because story and lore will always be sacrificed at the altar of virtue signals.
@@TSEliot1978 The other day Condal said everything they put into this show has a reason behind it. There's a theory I like that could easily explain it. The Velaryon's are seafarers and a lesser Valyrian House, if Corlys father or grandfather married a Summer Islander than that would explain the change in a way that would not go against the preestablished lore
I seriously couldn't be more excited. I really missed this world, I've rewatched the main series twice since it ended and everything I've seen about this series makes me giddy. To have this and LOTR airing at the same time is a dream for a fantasy fan like myself.

I'm so excited to go back to Westeros. It's a world that means more to me than I can describe. I know what happened with GoT, but I see no reason to tear this show down before it's even started because of that. If they do the same thing then whatever I'll get over it. Despite that I'm hyped and can't wait to see Westeros again.
@@Regenmacher175 Don't know how you can think that when so many great character arcs were destroyed in the span of just 4 episodes (which is very impressive I must admit lol)
George does seem pleased with the project. As far as finishing ASOIAF - I just think he is bored with it and would much rather work with HBO on spin-offs.
At 1:33 I stopped paying attention to whatever they were saying because I heard the music. I dont know if the show is good, but theres no doubt Ramin Djawadi created another masterpiece. 🎧
"You have to start by respecting it. You can't just do different for different's sake." Now that is what I like to hear. Too many writers try to give a story its own twist these days, and that often ruins the story. For example, Halo and Wheel of Time. Both completely fleshed out stories they could have beeb faithful to, but they decided to do what they wanted and everyone hated it. To hear these writers talk about this franchise the way they do and the fact that GRRM is involved has given me high hopes. Honestly just glad it's not D&D writing it. That alone is a massive W
From what I know of the story... aside from the dragons, there won't be as much magic in this show as there was in Game of Thrones. So people who enjoyed the more grounded side of GoT, but still liked the dragons (which there'll be more of this time), will probably enjoy this show even more.
One of the worst things about GoT was how much the show runners minimized the magical and esoteric aspects of the story. They had zero interest in the overarching themes, archetypes, and supernatural cycles that tied everything together. For HOTD to be better than GOT the writers need to stay more loyal to the source material. Even though that entails less magic this time around. Just write an adaptation, not fan fiction.
@@3lastname390 Yes but magic is still scarce and mysterious. There are mages that can control fire at will and necromancers but they are extremely rare.
@@mattfoulgerBC GOT actually had to balance the grounded and more fantastical elements and it did so admirably imo because there was never a moment where I felt the magic was out of place but 5 books that are 1000 pages each are different than 8 seasons of tv. You need to condense things, change things around and ultimately decide what the main focus of your show is going to be. House of the Dragon has an easier task because it no longer needs to convince the audience of the existence of dragons alongside medieval politics...because GOT already successfully did so previously. Also, GOT was not fan fiction, as they worked based on Martin's outline for the ending once they went ahead of the material covered by the books.
If you haven’t read the source material why even say this? there is a lot of magic in fire and blood and the dance of dragons which this show is based on
Knowing that this show covers the Dance of the Dragons, I don't think the non book readers are ready for the slaughter. Although they'll probably spend this season setting up the conflict.
They should do a feature film released in theaters of Robert's Rebellion, IMO. It's a story we mostly know already, but kinda just want to SEE, so they don't really need to do a full on show about it or anything. I was hoping for an actual flashback in GoT, but they just had Littlefinger tell us about it. A feature film would be ideal for maximum production value into the battles, with just enough time to tell the story adequately. It'd basically be Braveheart in Westeros.
@@AWSVids roberts rebellion isnt a big interesting story .we need aegon's conquest or blackfyre rebellion story characters like bloodraven would be dope to see
I like how they are saying that "they are gonna stay faithful to it" and "its in good hands" and "you have to respect it and not do different for differents sake", i really pray that it will be better this time
With the amount of times that they repeat how much they respect George's source content, it seems like HBO is hyper aware of how much they can't fuck this one up. I have hope.
Of course they can't. This is HBO's only shot at a massive flagship giving way to an entire cinematic universe. If it fails, HBO will end up in the same pit as Netflix.
@@FyreAndBlood the intro for Game of Thrones is so insanely iconic now that I think about it it always gave the feeling of watching something really epic at least for the first 4 seasons
so far the costuming looks amazing, still in the same world but has an older feel. really looks like this world happened before the game of thrones we know. super challenging to do with costuming but they pulled it off
Regardless of the faults with the later seasons of GoT. I don't anybody could say that the costume, set design and special effect weren't A tier. (Not including coffee cups :D)
Ok this just makes me more excited to watch this series. The cinematography is unreal and the actors along with GR. Martin is helping with this makes me so hopefully for a redemption. Still upset about GOT 2 years later but now I have hope again. Let’s Go Targaryen’s 👏👏👏👏👏
The difference between how this show is perfectly bringing fans back after what happened with szn 8 vs how Amazon is completely killing all hype for the rings of power is crazy
The episodes Miguel Sapochnik directed for GOT were usually my favorite ones and I could tell it was him working on them as they were SO good! Reaaaaaally excited for House of the Dragon and can't wait to see it.
Can you lot stop for a moment in terms of trying to mindread what Martin secretly thinks of the showrunners of the most successful fantasy show ever made? Most of the time you only end up making stuff up about the showrunners anyway.
Honestly, I'm as excited as I was whenever a new season of Thrones was coming around. It's great to hear that theme again, to revisit and get lost in this incredible world, it really brings all those same feelings back. After the fallout from the final season and from what I've read of the recent articles you can kind of tell that HBO knew George was right all along in needing more seasons to truly tell the story. I feel he's more in the driving seat this time. We're all here because of him and I just hope and pray to the Seven that the quality is as good as those early seasons. Hyped!
@@bregowine I think HBO would fire the Showrunners before they could pull that. I believe they learned not to have too much trust over their employees now and changed contracts. Also I really don't see Ryan and Miguel doing this rather than leaving the project.
Eh, they have to prove that first. GOT had a lot of tv-defining moments and changed how people look at fantasy storytelling. This show is essentially doing something the previous show already did successfully so it needs to find its own identity and do a lot of things well before I can say it's better than GOT. If it manages to make 8 seasons without stupid fanboys throwing temper tantrums that would already be good.
Looks fantastic, but the interviews here feel like HBO is both trying to tie the show to GoT to make the casuals want to watch it, while also distancing it from late GoT to pacify the fans who despised the ending. They're reassuring us that these are people who respect the material and know what they're doing... And I believe them!
I literally have a dream in working in one of this season. Let see how far it go. These shows are not just any thing but feelings. There is connection of soul with these stories.
They knew what they were doing with this mini-video. A lot of people coming out of the original GoT show are going to have concerns after how things left off with Season 8, D&D, etc I get the sense those involved on this are passionate and knowledgeable on the source material. Will definitely be checking this out
Just...wow. The range of emotions watching this; from nostalgic, to excited, to just complete awe. I'm growing more and more confident in this show, and to me, August CANNOT come fast enough!
Thank you for coming back with “you have to start with respecting it.” Staying true to the GOT [with the exception of the ending, of course]. Salute on this one. I’m now looking forward to it. 🙏🏼
I’m looking forward to this way more than the Amazon LOTR and as someone who has loved Tolkien all my life, that says a lot! I’m jealous to see the creators talk about how faithful they will be to the writers work.
Olivia Cook, Paddy Considine, Matt Smith and Rhys Ifans tend to be good even if a movie is shit or largely unforgettable. So at the very least this show is going to have good performances. And the actress who plays the young version of the princess was very good in Upright, so I’m excited to see her in this.
You are so correct. I swear, Matt Smith alone has had his big successes but half his career seems to be the one, one saving grace of appalling movies. Terminator Genisys and Morbius immediately come to mind where his small or supporting roles were the only memorable standouts.
