As I’ve grown my personal style over the last few years and dedicated more and more time into cultivating pieces I can wear for years to come, I’ve put a special focus on discovering artisans and creators that are making beautiful products made to stand the test of time and adding them into my wardrobe slowly but surely. These tings have been well made, carefully crafted and created with expertise and love and are often the representation of true artists and techniques that are becoming harder and harder to find. In order to shed light on these artists and help raise awareness for the beautiful work they’re doing, I’ll be highlighting them occasionally through this series and today we’re kicking things off with one of my absolute favorite scarf brands - Sabina Savage. Thanks so much for watching! xx

Everything you have said about the Sabina Savage scarves is so true! When mine arrived in its beautiful packaging it was a real “be still my beating heart moment!” They are a treasure for life and an heirloom to pass on. Many things come and go in fashion but these are truly timeless- that’s what I call an investment!

Beautiful! Thanks for making the statement about concentrating on the colors over the pattern. They are so beautiful that color consideration was lost on me. One of those scarves would be a lovely gift (I’ll be sure to show my husband 😆)

Thank you so much for the tip about prioritizing color over pattern, I wouldn't have thought of it and it makes so much sense! I was wondering how delicate these scarfs are, meaning do they have a tendency to easily develop pulled threads?

Hi Audrey, thank you for introducing us to Sabina Savage. I have fallen in love and purchased 3 of the large size, 2 in silk and one in cashmere. LOVE THEM. My fave is also the Hare’s gift in Pink and Sloe. Thank you for the tip on colors!! You are a gem!

I’m so obsessed with one of Sabina’s designs but I don’t think I’d wear it enough to spend nearly $300 for the 90cm Silk. So beautiful but I don’t think I’ll be picking one up. Are there other brands that do gorgeous scarves for $100 or less, that you love? I’ve been wanting to experiment with silk scarves and try to make them work in a masculine way but I can’t wear it to work so it would only be a weekend type thing.

A scarf as such costing $300, is like an investment. Less is more. It is in the higher price range, but we know these scarves are not fast fashion or made by children. You keep it for many years and it does not end up in landfill. This is a European price, where we focus on good style and quality. Have a pleasant day. Greetings from Switzerland.

It is really astonishingly beautiful. Maybe one day I decide to invest in one my self. I have a white silk scarf with a bird print (I have a parrot and am crazy about birds in general). I simply don't know how to incorporate in my everyday style. But I love it. I'm much more comfortable with thicker wool/cashmere scarves.

They remind me of the Hermes scarves, and they're almost (but not quite!) as expensive. My Hermes scarf is beautiful but it's not quite the silk I thought it would be. It's silk but it's like the finest, thinnest see-through crepe. But I like Sabina's scarves, especially lovely. The one I want with hares on it is out of stock (love that they have a cashmere backing so they are much better quality and will last long. :( I'll keep looking for when they are back in stock. Thanks again, Audrey.

Such a beautiful scarf that I would fold it in half from corner to corner then drape around my shoulders with one point hanging down my back and the other two remaining corners tied together loosely in front. This would allow a large part of the design could be seen. This effect could be worn four different ways depending on which corners were put together, allowing four different views. I have seen Italian women dressing in this way and they always look so stylish. You could definitely use this effect over your camel coat Audrey :)

Beautiful introduction, very appropriate for a timeless series. You made a very good point by advising the viewer to look at the colors first. I tend to buy scarves on my travels, they take little space and are lightweight. My favorite so far has been purchased in Sienna Italy, it’s a silk scarf representing the fresco of Good Government-Bad Government from the Palazzo Publico. Unique pieces are going to be expensive, but that’s when second hand shops come in handy, isn’t it?

Stunning scarf! I wish you would tackle how to handle wearing a scarf while eating. It seems that most of the time I would wear a scarf, food is part of the picture. How do you handle a scarf that poufs under your chin if you have to consume something? Take it off, flip anything voluminous behind you, ... I've really never been able to find any information on how to handle this situation.

FYI: After much contemplation, I just ordered my first scarf from Sabina Savage. It is lovely---but it was sent to me in bubble wrap, not a beautiful box with a wax seal, nor a catalog book (which would have been helpful). It was *discounted* and from the modal cotton/silk line, but the cost was $200+ dollars. Hummm..... Also, as with other viewers, alternative suggestions for high-quality scarves when budgets are limited would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your fashion wisdom, Audrey.

Hello! I am sorry you were disappointed with the packaging you received. We ran a one-time-only archive sale for subscribers which is where you purchased your scarf. These were discontinued lines and highly discounted from their original price. Unfortunately, the production cost of the scarves is so high that we cannot afford to invest in the luxury packaging when selling the scarves at a lower price. We appreciate your feedback and hope you understand! Best wishes.

I just had a very sad realization. My favorite design (Tipu's Hound in cumin) is 100% the wrong colorway for my skin. I went back through all the designs and found at least two others that would look amazing next to my face, so it's not like all is lost. Ever since I did the work and found myself squarely in the Warm/True Spring category, it's opened my eyes to why (no matter how much I love it, objectively) nothing in burgundy and dark red ever ended up looking good on me. On the other hand, give me all the bright, saturated colors!

Great intro to scarves and what a beautiful design. Wearable art! The scarf you chose compliments and brightens your skin tone so nicely...you r glowing :). Any tips on how to select the right colour to bring out my brightest complexion? I’m told I may be neutral but sometimes appear more olive, yellow, or peach...it’s a seasonal thing lol. I tend to look best in navy blue, forest green, petal pink, certain greys.

On the Sabina Savage website, one of the fabric options is “silk twill.” What is that exactly?
@sabinasavage
@sabinasavage 5 лет назад
Hi Julie! Silk twill is made from 100% silk. The 'twill' element refers to the way the fabric is woven. It is the classic silk scarf weave, used by Hermes and many other brands. You can visit our Size and Fabric Guide to find out more: sabinasavage.com/size-fabric-guide/ I hope that helps!

I bought a Sabina Savage scarf after seeing them in several videos and am so terribly disappointed. It is lovely but it frays all day long and never stops! It looks so sloppy with the threads always coming apart. I assumed I received a defective one but they won’t do anything about it. Strongly recommend looking for vintage or other wonderful scarves and avoiding Sabina Savage due to the quality control issues.

Hi Audrey ! Sorry to say that I don’t like these illustrations from Sabina Savage. 😐 but I love scarves and of course I love your channel !

I was not so keen at first, but then I saw the tutorials on how to knot those scarves in different ways on their website and what ends up happening is that parts from different areas of the scarf come together, so you will get the pattern of let's say the alligator next to a butterfly and skull. There is something raw and sexy about the result. Just my opinion.
