Unicorn overlord is a new srpg coming out march 8th 2024 and it looks to be able to hold its own and be just as good as many of the legends we still play till this day. #srpg #vanillaware #nintendoswitch
Yes! A thousand times yes! Demo was awesome. Calmed all my fears. IMO early candidate for GOTY like Larians masterclass. And best thing about it is no microtransactions!
@@faizedfoxgaming7426 yeah. they said this 7h section is just 10% of the game. I also like the QOL stuff like allowing to skip battle animations and carry over the save to the real game..
at first, I wasn't sure i'd like the autobattler element. But after the demo I understand the type of perspective we are playing as. We play as a General who commands the war but not the battles, you can assign priority to your soldiers, and instruct them how you need them to perform, but you aren't in control of every individual soldier. but you control the unit. what matters the most is your planning & tactics. A good General's army will be successful without micromanaging but with good and clear direction & tactics. It's one step above the usually turn-based tactics most of us are used to, As we play as the captain of a squad in the more traditional tactics game. I love how it broadens the perspective, from controlling a unit to controlling an army. I think I may fall in love with this game. I cant wait till the full release.
Exactly the general that commands the war. Its very deep and so much to plan and prepare for battle squad formations and than the order they use commands in battle as well. Its very much like ogre battle from back in the day. Glad you found a new game to enjoy. I think it will only get better on full release demo is done very well
Personally I don't really feel it's auto battle as we don't leave everything to the AI to decide. And correctly setting the conditions are very important, it does feel how an actual war scenario is like where you can give a command to a unit or troop or a battalion and they will carry it out based on that command instead of they just do whatever they want.
Yup, it is really good and can't wait for it's release on 8th of March. Great to hear you will be covering it. In any case, things to take note of from my play through in the demo. When using rest function in battle, be careful where you are doing it at as the unit will not be able to retaliate or defend from enemies attack during the duration of the rest, even in town or fort. The condition of the skills are very important to check or even adjust just before any encounter itself to customize to each encounter as enemies can be different and how we wish to use the skill can varies. Valor skills can be very useful in battles.
I think its the successor to ogre battle 64 it plays very similar. Nice yeah i got the collectors edition thanks for the tips. Looks to have so much depth and ways to play i cant wait myself. Seems squad make up is very important too
Yeah, I can see just from the auto battle shown in the video that it's VERY similar to OB64 and MOTBQ's auto battles. Unit organization is also similar to OB64's. It's pretty clear that the devs took a page from those games. That's cool since Square-Enix doesn't seem too interested in the Ogre Battle series at the moment (though idk what their opinion is on it after Reborn). I'll have to try the demo myself when I have some time to download it.
yes its basically the successor to ogre battle it plays similar with fire emblem thrown in a bit too. i would love to see a reall ogre battle remake tho
Excellent game with lots of build crafting, team crafting and gambit crafting. The game is like the love child of FFXII, ogre battle and fire emblem. Will you cover this game before release/based on demo? would love to get into more discussion about this game.
@@faizedfoxgaming7426 cool. Imo this game will have lot of stuff for content creators. Just like TOR, lots of discussion on classes, character builds, team comps and gambit setups.
