Steve Perry forever!!! So what, he doesn't want to tour his butt off and be on the road all the time. I don't blame him. He's rich, he's happy with his life and he achieved his goals in music. If he comes back, I'll go anywhere and buy anything...if not, I'll always be grateful for what we have of Steve Perry. I listen everyday to my cds and I hear him on the radio all during the day. He'll always have a special place in my heart and life.

Wow what a wonderful and supportive mom she must of been. She believed in her son, and because of that Steve has left us this wonderful legacy of music.

Love Steve Perry would love to meet him- he is such a real person (proven to be bc isn't "industry" he is a deep caring person. Its really impressive since he reached such stardom. Very few people impress me especially in the public eye.

Every time I go to a Journey concert and heard the new lead singer wasn't singing again, I thought great Steve is back, but no. Always disappointed. I look for him all the time on the net hoping he sings again alone or w/ a group. We need to hear him on last time. Many singers his age are still making CD's ...Rod Stewart..McCarthy etc. Please come back on concert tour.

He choked when talking about his Mum. He's a wonderful, sincere and genuine person. And his own songs have turned out to help him later in life which is great to hear.

I am also happy to hear the radio announcer say that Steve "is currently working on solo material." I really hope that he has something out by the end of this year. I love the fact that he was so close to his mom and loved her so much and still talks about her to this day. He should always keep her memory alive and within him. I can relate to that. Love you Steve!

How sweet to hear the emotion in his voice when speaking of his Mother. I believe that she is still there with him in spirit, guiding and watching over him. Hope he will sing for her one more time.

I started referring to "Don't Stop Believing" as the 2nd American national anthem. But now that it's at the top of the charts in the UK......I'm willing to share! I think this is just wonderful, The magic of Journey and what those guys did deserves to be remembered forever! Mary knew.....and she must be SO proud!!! God bless her, and her boy.

OMG i love his voice! I`m from mexico city and I have a son he`s only 3 years old, obviously we speak spanish but he sings don`t stop believin very good, and he tells me, mommy i know this is your favorite song!!! PLEASE Steve release a new record, we miss u SO MUCH!!! REALLY!!!

Great interview!!! I'm glad to hear that he "held out" granting approval for the DSB track being used on the Sopranos until he was made aware of the scene in which it would be played. Shows that he cares about his music and how it is perceived by the public. Loved his comments about his Mom; sounds like she was his cheerleader. Hope he is doing well and is aware that he is still one of our favorite people. :)

LOVE JOURNEY ONE OF THE BEST AMERICAN BANDS IN MY PERSONAL OPINION,,, BUT WHEN STEVE LEFT THE BAND !!! ,,, THE SAME THING THAT HAPPENED TO ALMOST ALL OTHER BAND'S ! THEY JUST NOT THE SAME ANY MORE ..

I like Don't Stop Believin' just fine, but it almost seems too good a song to even listen to. It's like the finest champagne, I can't justify listening to it very often except on really special occasions. Like I need to be working on the ending to a story where characters who were drifting apart get back together again, things come back from the brink of despair and become happy again almost miraculously. Its power resides in not using it very often.

OMG! I didn't know Steve wasn't getting paid from all of those DSB sales. That totally sucks!

Boy he really was attached to Mom. Guess him being an only child and a son meant a lot to her. Maybe the only person Steve felt like truly loved him for himself. That is why he seems to have trouble moving on from her death. A lot of people have been very nasty about that to him. People need to be more understanding.

agreed and he can at least do one city per state.. i miss all the live shows, and never got to do that, and agree with the album, but if he is smart, he will tour, interviewers are begging him too!

theres definitely a best of coming out in jan, regards to a new album everybody is saying that it will be due early next year however perry still hasnt announced anything about it publicly.

Please understand: I don't want to crash anyone's dreams but 2 things are certain: Steve will NEVER sing with Journey again, and the chances of him touring are about nil (he referred to his age, 61, in a very recent interview and said he can't do the stuff "we did when we felt no pain"! Rumors of a new solo CD started a year ago, and HE HAS the songs...it's just a matter of when! He knows how badly his fans want it, so I PRAY he does it.

I´d like hear he sings some Beatles songs, like My love or something . i think it woud be graeat!

That really sucks, how can Steve Perry or any other Journey member involved in writing Don't Stop gets a meager rate on the song. I have to wonder if Sony Music or Sony Entertainment keeps selling these songs to TV and movies to up their profits but giving very little the songwriters. Its almost criminal if not completely full of thievery. Bastards. I hope Steve will elaborate on that further, not too sure if the DJ avoided that on purpose, I would of kept tactfully asking about that.

Oh god don't you really feel for Steve when he talks about his Mum,he gets really choked,what a wonderful relationship they must have had.I know a lot of people Steve knew used to take the piss out of him cos he was close to his Mum,all i can say is better a relationship like that than one where your parents let you go & leave school & join a rock band at 15!!

You know they always say when you date a man watch how he treats his mother because that is how he will treat his wife. So I can imagine Steve would treat a woman with a lot of love, respect, and probably keep her on a pedestal. Shame it seems like he kept picking women who didn't appreciate that.
