Steve's 62nd Birthday..A Look Back 

*I'm so very happy that Steve Perry is back. Not just for us, but also for himself.*

in the early 90's when I was living in Hawaii I spent a half a day hiking with Steve. I actually did not know it was him until later because at that time I was into country music. when I realized later that I was hiking with Steve Perry I had a pretty good laugh

most gifted vocalist ever. thanks Steve for hours and hours of listening pleasure.

There will never be anyone else like Steve Perry! I went to see Journey perform in Va. Beach Va. years ago just to hear him sing, not knowing he had left the band, when they came out and I didn't see Steve, I was really upset! I think they should have a reunion for all the fans! Still play Journey to hear Steve's beautiful voice!!!!

First, I'd like to say to Steve: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Second, in the video, no text to acknowledge and highlight Steve's "For the Love of Strange Medicine" era. I personally believe the work he did on that album is an absolute MASTERPIECE of music. It's 1 of my favorite pieces of music of ALL TIME -- so much so that can sing almost every one of those songs acapella including "Donna Please" Steve was more than "Journey", he's an absolute MASTER songwriter and of the greatest vocalists of all time.

You are the best rock singer of all time. the real Journey no one comes close we are love you my friend.

You know, when you are just a teen like i was in the 80's and listen to Journey and Steve Perry then it's like your so use to seeing him with Jouney and his voice that every time he sings you get goose bumbs all over your body.and then you see him now and It's like hey! he wasn't suppose to age.i know we all get old,but it seams like he wasn't suppose to.

Steve was a major part of my life growing up. An inspiration. I wish I was an inspiration. I wish I was as great a man as he. I hope he has found that Jesus paid for his sins in life and that he will be part of the chorus of heaven. Don't read into that, life is what it is. I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your mother, I know how difficult it is, I lost mine over 10 years ago and it still seems like only yesterday that her and I were laughing together. Steve, happy birthday, your a legend.

I have loved journey since I was 13 years old I am 47 and I still love them but Steve Perry is journey his voice is like none I've heard bk then till now I'm still amaze at this man if only he only knew of me he would have never had to look any further lol in my 20s I was hopelessly in love with him but I'm married now but I guess we can always meet in my dreams lol

I lived it during that time and I also have degenerative disc disease in my back, very painful. They never should have used the "journey" name. I went to the concert and was disappointed and pissed it was not Steve Perry. I wish Steve the very best to come back and give the music industry hell on his own, without those band members. When your sick it's funny how you loose friends and true friends stay and love you. COME BACK full force Steve Perry and raise some HELL!

Such a touching video!!! My deepest thoughts and prayers for the loss of your mother..I hope Steves music got you through it ...I know he helps me all the time.and watching this video helped me even more..I just wish he would sing some more for us I miss him so much....I was at his FTLOSM concert at the tower theatre in Philadelphia and at the Brunswick theatre I gave him a big bouquet of flowers for his BD grabbed his arm and I almost did not let go ..I was in the 2nd row .I will never forget ..He is the BIGGEST inspiration and self help I have....

I lost my dad March 24, 2016 and, when I first found out all that kept playing in my head was "🎼when the lights go down in the city🎶and the sun shines on the bay🎶ooh I wanna be there in my 'sit-tay' oh ooh oh ooh oh oh....🎹 ". My family and I live in Biloxi, Mississippi and in Biloxi we have the Gulf of Mexico on our Southside and to our East and North and a touch West ( I guess I could have said it's a peninsula 🤔) is our Biloxi Bay - locally called "Back Bay". My dad was born in 1946 and he lived and worked his whole life on the waters around us - he loved ' his bay'. My dad also had an affinity and gift for music. He loved Journey's music! Music from the radio station was our alarm clock! Dad would sing Steve Perry's songs to my mom and they'd dance and I'd join in - I was 7 years old in 1977! I remember my older cousin was a huge fan of Journey's and mainly Steve Perry. She had posters and album covers stapled to her wall; that's when I first was mesmerized by the 'Escape' album cover - I happened to be a huge Ancient Egyptian/Egyptology fan! So, I grew up with Journey songs always playing on the radio, at high school dances, proms and such. But when I got my heart broken from my first true love (apparently I loved 💞him and he loved the possibility of my family's perceived💰💰💰 money....and cheating with many others!😧😭😢😤😭😭 Well, Steve leading Journey with their greatest hits cassette tape (Open Arms, Lights in the city, etc.) in my Toyota small 2x4 pick-up trucks' tape deck! It was the beginning of June 1990 and I felt like it was the end of the world, lol!!! Sorry to have made this post so long. I was surprised by your video and it brought back so many memories - they just come pouring out😭😭😢😢 Thank you for sharing this with us all! God Bless!
