So Judge Caprio can be tough when it is necessary! Both of those situations made me laugh but that young man was ridiculously arrogant and I hope he learned a lesson about honesty and humility in Judge Caprio's courtroom.

The second guy should have been charged with double the amount just because he was trash talking the whole time. Man, just pay for it. Do not make a fool out of yourself in front of a judge and million people watching.
Doesn't really work that way. Its a civil, not criminal violation. To have criminal penalties, he would be entitled to a public defender and a full trial in front of a jury.
@@mattvideoeditor In the US, losing your license is a criminal, not civil penalty. The US government cannot arbitrarily take away your ability to drive, you are entitled to a full trial by jury if you wish, before they can do that. You would have to be convicted of a crime to lose your license.

Well, he's not comfortable with it because it's against the law for an American to have a title of nobility. This fella talked like he was originally from a British dependency, where Judges are often nobles and addressed as "m'lord". So, this guy probably would think nothing of something like that, but to an American judge, it wouldn't be acceptable.
I’ve watched this first case so many times. So funny. I see people complaining but there was certainly no malice intended by calling Judge Caprio “your highness”. Not something I would do personally but there is obviously a cultural difference here.

This judge is very nice and I like his humorous speech very much.He has no hesitation in helping those who deserve it. Our society needs judges like this.

this decision making guy "the judge"is laying wonderful history of amazing ethics and decency .the American state must be proud of having such soft gentleman as judge who really understand psychology of culprits and treats accordingly not only to fill the treasury of the state by charging compulsorily.
This is the first time i saw the court giving the last guy no consideration, which he totally deserve! Finally Providence earned some good bucks there. Congrats great judge
My one and only ticket was for a red light when I was behind a semi's tractor and couldn't see the light flipping (too fast) through the colors until I was already in the intersection. The light had just been installed and the timing was messed up for at least 2 weeks. There was a cop right behind me. He ignored my protest, gave me the ticket. Luckily I got it cleared from my record by going to traffic school. Over 30 years later, never got another ticket, perfect record. Btw, the next night my husband and I came toward the same light, and it cycled through all the colors several times in just a minute before it stopped on red. Luckily he was wary of it and just stopped and waited. How I wish I had been able to make a video of that light back then! 🚦😡
Knew a guy in the same situation. Know what he got? 2 tickets, 1 for fail to stop for red light and the other for follow too close. He was told he should have been back further so he could see the lights. Went to court, guilty on both.

The first case is just cringey to watch. That guy don't understand that it is neither funny nor appropriate in this situation to call a Judge "Your Highness" which can quickly be disrespectful. He can be lucky that this judge is so patient. Other judges would have charged him with disrespect infront of a court. Good for you
That wasn't disrespect. Its a form of respect common in places like Liberia for judges and public offices. Usually a carryover from the colonial days. He wasn't trying to be humourous
Hmmm.... I'm really starting to like this Judge. I had given up all belief in the legal system. Myself i have no record and no problems but I see how people are treated once they do. I never thought I would see something like this gentleman. Maybe all hope is not lost yet. If this becomes popular and young judges decided this is the kind of person they want to be, maybe there is a small chance we can turn things around after all.
Don't take his kindness and leniency for granted as he is a fair judge. Admit you are wrong, behave in his court and don't boast. He is kind but you'll never be able to walk all over him. Good judge, may he live long and healthy happy life. I wish we have someone like him here.
well, i don't think the kid boasted, he told the judge where he worked, and the judge said aw you can't pay your tuition from that, and then the kid said he has a real estate license in R>I> - like, maybe he sells a house or gets some listings during the summer, when he's not in school, but any way, the judge was the one who said he made a lot of money and the kid just agreed with him. i think the kid came off as obnoxious but the young need time to grow wise. what he was trying to say, in his own way, is that he's working hard and putting himself through college and needs someone to affirm that he's doing a good job. i have a feeling there's a lot to his personal story that might make us cry. but he does need to learn not to go through red lights anymore, still i wish the judge had set aside his irritation with the kid's manner and said something affirming as he says so well, because the kid needed . the anxiety or self doubt the kid felt in court could cause him to take a wrong course. make him pay the fines if you will, but affirm that he's a good kid, but he's got to become mindful of the red lights so there's no accidents.
The "Kid" is in College. You called him Kid like 15 times but the "Kid" can legally drink, smoke, have children, gamble. Affirm that he's good on what basis? That he had 10+ red light traffic violations in less than a year? God forbid he harmed or killed one of your family in that red light violation you wouldn't be calling him kid or giving him excuses for nothing. I believe in mercy and justice but damn you're giving him undeserved excuse after excuse.
This was a text book case lol. Tgis man should get a major accommodation fpr his work. He is tough only when need be. Some people will give a guy 20 years for nothing on a bad day lol. Just blessed we have this man on our side

He is the best judge I've ever seen so I can see why the first guy is calling him royal heinousness, he was just a bit awkward in his mannerism to convey how he felt about the judge.
