Trapper will always be my favorite killer because of the pure adrenaline and dopamine hit I can get when I catch a survivor in a good trap

The makeshift wrap addon is the only reason I miss old deadhard. Survivors deadhard through the trap then stare at me, only for me to just walk straight through it and slap them. Pure bliss!

Coup is finally not absolute garbage and in regards to it being 'hidden', it can be called out in a swf the second the killer takes a lunge a few paces too far. It's absolutely fine and is a fine thing for M1 killers to actually have a bone thrown their way

Weird sugesstion: Why not change the trap color depending on the map? have sand colored traps for the artist map.

The fact traps are so useless and easy to counter that using them as an extension of the loop instead of actual traps is a viable strategy really tells how disconected from reality the balance team who are "happy with his performance" are.

The funny thing is that I use this reasoning when I want to help a team mate getting hardcore tunneled to the point that the killer walks past me. The idea is that I stick to the loop extending it artificially for the killer, then I walk away to let my mate squeeze between me and the loop. If a killer is so commited on tunneling someone to ignore you, he won't put 2 and 2 together when you do this trick :D With enough experience you can even "fat shame" killers, but it makes it more obvious tbh

I think you could even optimize this further by placing the traps just a tad further from the edge of the wall/loop. Just enough to make it impossible (or not obvious whether it is possible) to go between the trap and the wall. Then the survivor needs to go a little bit of extra distance around it all :)

I always thought trapper shouldn't get caught in his own traps unless carrying someone, I mean he placed the darn thing he should just step over it

In regards to the coup discussion. By that logic both sides should see each others perks before the game so that there is no guessing. The beauty of perk builds is you don’t know what to expect. Like the people that run grim embrace. Can be a really nice slowdown perk. Don’t know they have it usually. Does that make grim embrace problematic? Or deadlock, pain res, or nowhere to hide? What about every exhaustion perk or perks like wglf or buckle up. The argument that not knowing what perk the other side has makes a perk problematic is stupid. I usually like and agree with your opinions and ideas Otz but that one seems a little ridiculous.

Otz: " maybe survivors will realize that this isn't fun" Survivors with mft, dead hard, anti tunnel perks. Me: "well they d**m deserve it"

I think that MFT is problematic but that coup is not, sure it adds a similar layer of unpredictability but that’s the point. Killer perks are supposed to be stronger because it’s their 4 perks versus 16 other possible perks out of the much longer list of strong survivor perks.

When watching these videos Otz has those moments where he's explaining things to chat mid chase and then gets expressive with his character in game. Staring at things, walking up to things, swinging at things, and shaking his camera around. During these little moments I have to wonder if the survivors ever notice this and get confused by it. Like you're getting chased by trapper and suddenly he starts walking sideways while nodding up and down then a second or 2 later faces back towards you and chases normally again.

Always knew this addon had potential. Honestly, make it basekit that Trapper can walk through his own traps when not carrying a survivor. The man needs some love and this is actually a pretty clever tactic for trapper to use that isn't overpowered but also works extremely well particularly against good players who know how to loop.

as a makeshift wrap enjoyer I do this a lot; it also works by placing the trap at the edge of a pallet or at narrow passages to force survivors to run the short side of a loop, as you can cut them off. The spot at 1:47 (which otz was clearly considering) for example would force a survivor running that side of the loop to go around the pillar on the right, but you can go through it for an easy hit

We need more addons that change functionality of powers-even minor changes can have significant gameplay implications. I love stuff like this!

I was running coup before the buff to try and get used to it, and now I'm running it after the buff. I think it's pretty fun as survivor and killer personally, but that's mostly because I think the giant lunges are hilarious. Also most survivors I go against were like "whoa" rather than "fuck you" lol

I call these corner traps and I use them all the time. Not just with makeshift wraps, but I basically always use wrap and gbag. Survivors always expect doors, but corners and jumps (and especially drops) surprise them all the time. Fun video

okay, I think this is the playstyle that finally makes me try out trapper. as a dredge main i love circumventing loops and this seems really funny

in before BHVR nerfs this in 2 weeks because trapper's killrate went up.

I think this add-on can be another power for trapper. Just give him this add-on press Q to active with 1 minute cd on it or something. Maybe we can see more of him in the game.

CDG should have a visual cue for survivors when it activates. Like the killer glows during the lunge or something

Feels a bit nostalgic seeing him regain some of his trapper giddyness from like 4 years ago

Me who's been doing this for a while now because I use makeshift wrap 90% of the time lol. Another tip is that this works on pallets that are too wide on one side that survivors can normally squeeze right by the trap (like some of the filler pallets on Decimated Borgo). The idea is that you place the trap not in the middle of the pallet but on the wider side, and they see that they have enough space to squeeze by it if need be, but you chase them the direction that makes it so if they go around the trap and greed they get hit, but if they choose to drop the pallet because, they get vacuumed into the trap!

Resilience and made for this could counter that fairly easily but like Otz said if the survivor is sloppy at looping and not hugging tiles that tech will give the killer the upper hand. Genius idea 👏🏾

I actually went and tried Bamboozle + Coup on Trapper after this video, and it was surprisingly VERY fun and satisfying! It surprises survivors quite a bit and makes Trapper feel a lot more fun and comfortable in chase.

The element of surprise is what makes some perks good. Look at how bad dissolution is and how good it would be in the first few chases if it didn't tell people before it even does anything.

What video is supposed to be about: “Hey, look how with one add on you can catch survivors off guard on safe loops” What this video really is about: “Coup de Grade is killer’s Made for This”

Since this was secretly a Coup video in disguise: I don't think the perk poses AS big of a problem as subtle speed changes like MFT and the new Xenomorph perk, because the big problem with those sorts of perks is that they not only make previously impossible plays possible, but the change they make is so small that it's impossible for the average player to tell the difference. At least when a killer runs coup, the survivor KNOWS they have coup when they lunge into a different timezone, and it's just a matter of learning what is and isn't possible when dealing with the extended lunge. I think of it more like that blight serum you can get for medkits during halloween because of that.

What i like about coup de crace is it helps tge low tier killers alot and the best killers dont really benefit from it like blight nurse

I’ve been using coup de grace on the singularity/singular manatee for ages and I definitely stand by it as an S tier perk 🔥👌 (And admittedly a bit problematic but it’s nice to have a non gen slowdown perk be top tier)

I did something similar on rpd, I didn't choose the map. The doorway on the top of the left staircase in main you can put two traps, I had a survivor hooked at the other side of main and they went to disarm the trap on their side and I stepped through the trap on my side and their side and hit him.

pretty slick trick, he still needs a heavy buff though, even a secondary power like messing with windows/pallets would help. "I don't wanna use a coup stack" is exactly why I call coup de grace an anti-perk and a self debuff.

11:30 I feel you could've done an extreme version of this tactic, by placing traps in a zig zag pattern for Ace, and after he escapes, he either has to snake around the traps and you cut him off, or he goes to the nearby loop and you run him there. Probably should've also runned Leon out of the game.

I honestly think they shouldn't have made (Coup De Grace) get 2 tokens per gens but rather made it so it wouldn't waste a token if you don't lunge over the normal range, that way it wouldn't be so op and not so advanced either
