I feel like this is great for people who are using lipstick for one-time use, two-time use, don't wear makeup often, just want to try it out, for samples, or use it for special events but I don't think it should replace lipsticks in daily uses.
Yes, sometimes I want to wear new colour for certain events but I don't want to buy new lipsticks bec I won't wear it daily especially for bold colour.
It’s the old way of doing makeup. Chinese women used in as lipstick since a long time (like thousands years?) I’m not Chinese so I didn’t know Chinese invented it or not
In ancient china they used these kind of cards to tint your lips, too. Then, the whole sheet was rose red (they made it from roses), it was more like a tint :)
I think the normal lipsticks are better because: Normal lipstick: Comes in a neat container Reusable Can close it Don't have to worry it will smear Card lipstick: Smears if you push down to hard with anything while in case Have to waste time to "purposely" spread Have to fold Can only use a few times Cant get into corners
once again, this is more like a sample, you can get it to see which colors you like and then buy the full lipstick. i think a lot of people are forgetting that
I don’t think it’s meant to replace conventional lipstick, but rather a sample for different shades (& thanks to 3-4 applications) & the ability to try different colors w/multiple outfits, hair color or eye makeup. Definitely quite overpriced!
These would be cute as samples offered by a company... but paying for them? It seems like so much work, tbh, compared to just applying normal lipstick. 🤔🤣
This actually isn’t new, it’s a pretty old traditional chinese way of applying lipstick. Since I’m chinese, I know that there was actually once a lipstick paper long long ago and it can be used a lot of times and is very good. So, just saying, but it’s not new and it’s not that original since it’s just bringing the old chinese way of applying lipstick back to the world, but through a lipstick company.
There is a lovely Chinese woman I’m subscribed to on YT, she produces incredible videos. In particular, she has a beautiful video showing how she makes lip paper! Unfortunately I can’t read or speak the language, so I apologize I don’t know her name off the top of my head.
It’s actually pretty good idea for crazy colours. If you’re going to party and you want to put on purple or dark blue color but you don’t want to buy a full sized lipstick u can buy this. They should add more crazy colors like white, yellow, black and say its for costume partys etc.
I prefer darker colors over like pink and lighter reds. Hard to find darker shades that remain on the lips for a long time, though. Any suggestions? And are they not sticky?
It would be good to use this on special occasion where you don't have to buy a new shade of lipstick just to match your outfit or makeup.. And btw, the European Girl style really suits you 😘
Ngan Nguyen it depends on what lipstick it is. If it’s liquid, normally I’m gonna be more careful on taste. Regular lipstick, unless it smells like formaldehyde or chlorine, they normally don’t have much of a taste.
It doesnt taste bad, But its not exactly something you would purposely try to eat, It doesnt have much of a taste to be honest, You wouldnt swallow lipstick and then gag or throw up, But you definitely wouldnt keep swallowing it
No pro make up artist would use lipstick directly from the tube or gloss from the wand. That would be asking for infections which kills your career faster than you can say ‚herpes‘. The maximum I did as a make up artis is mini lip glosses for my brides so they could touch up.
That's too expensive for a lipstick you can only use 4 times, The colours are nice so I think just buying it in normal lipstick packaging would be better
That is such a good idea!! I have the same damn pimple in the same spot on my face. I NEVER get them, but suddenly i got this giant one that's all scabby and destroyed now. I should turn it into a mole lol
Nikki Sinclair what do you expect? She bought these samples from the most expensive mall in Singapore. Even if she didn't it would still be quite expensive because it's Singapore and the cost of living is high.
OMG, Tina! I'm not usually leaving comments, but I have to say that you are beautiful. You are shining!! :) You are very beautiful and this hair looks so amazing on you! I want to recreate the same colour, but it is in progress for months. 😂 Anyway, this is an amazing review, every shade looks perfect on you. Have a nice day! ❤❤
I really want to say that this way of applying lipstick has existed in China for hundreds of years where ladies in the part used to dye a piece of silk paper red and use that to tint their lips. Therefore it is not entirely new and its not really coming out of nowhere!
Gloria GAO Lol, I was about to comment this as well. Although, I only know this cause I used to watch a Chinese historical drama with my grandmother when I was around 5-6 years old.
Unless you're like me lol. I get all my pimples in the middle of my forehead like a unicorn... You know maybe I'll just do rainbow eyeliner moles and claim to be a majestic unicorn.
This trick has saved my life in middle School back in the day. Girls were so mean and it was so "gross" for someone to have blemishes on their faces. And since I already had freckles it worked out even better as it would blend right in and no one had even noticed bigger freckles in different random places on my face.lol
gracesquared1 right I feel like I'd have this more all over my mouth area instead of just on my lips. Can't even put lipstick on without a a new point or an applicator without it being a mess or uneven. I have small lips so I'm surprised I haven't just invested in a lip brush.
Apply lip balm then lipstick near the inside of your mouth and then rub your lips together like lip balm. Wipe excess lipstick off and continue with your day.
Honestly, I think those are best for on the go looks/travelling because I think when you don’t want makeup to take up a huge amount of space but you still want to bring some with you (only for a short trip though), those are perfect
Heartxcuoh Flimsy the above commenter was talking only about the lady in the videos features..not her body entirely. Your technically comparing someone face to another persons body.
i feel like laneige, being a korean brand, people use the lipstick more for the gradient effect which also looks good on you btw, would use less product.
I agree... the price is a bit odd a bummer for basically a sample size. I guess the trade-off might be space you save if you want to swap out your look later in the day? Lol. Or if you really want to test drive a color before fully commuting.
I wish i can just pull off that fake mole like tina does but if i do that i'll end up having several black dots on my face because i have so many pimples to cover 😂
I like your videos Tina. I'm like your biggest fan , I really watch every single video you post. And for this video it seems like any colour suit's you especially with your skin colour well done to all your videos ❤️💖
It does look like a fun idea! I would certainly enjoy this becoming a trend.. y'know, a little bit more affordable trend maybe. PS: I'm also in awe of the fact you can pull off ANY lipstick, regardless the formula or color - I feel like half of these shades would look tacky on me! 💁🏻
These are the one's recommended if you're maybe dressing up or cosplaying and you don't have a specific lipstick shade/color that you needed. In that way, you don't have to buy another whole lipstick as you'll just use it for one or a few times.
I like this episode of tina trys it, but I would've liked to see you compare application of a lipstick in the same formula and shade to application of its corresponding lip card
Jackie Hong I don’t exactly understand this..? Maybe your saying that she should have matched the lipstick on her lips to the card? To see if the color changed?
