Brilliant, can't wait. Greetings from Finnish Lapland, which is completely flat and currently covered in snow and ice. We are eagerly awaiting the next soaring season from late May or so... 👍😎

You probably don't want to know about summer in the southern hemisphere, then. Actually, though the New Zealand Nationals were held recently in hot conditions, the competition I was meant to be at this week has just been cancelled due to persistent heavy rain (much-needed).

I feel inspired to get my license…having flown since age 16 in 1980 and owned and operated schools in Hang and Paragliding, I feel the need…flying an Airbus does not fulfill me…

Great idea. I'm hoping you make some progress on this project in 2023. Maybe you can collaborate with yourtube pilots like ChessintheAir

Hey Chris just ran across your videos and have been going down the rabbit hole and watching them all. Fantastic work love the 360 camera and and magnificent soundtrack. Got my license at 14 soloed in the old Schweicher 142. I think we had two instruments in it the altimeter and variometer. I'm 70 years old now and thinking of going back and picking up the stick again. I'd love to see some videos with other gliders in the shot to give some perspective. Keep up the great work

Thank you for your comment! I'm glad that you're looking forward to the new content, just as I am looking forward to publishing it. Unfortunately, this video did not excite as many viewers as I had hoped, and therefore the new training content is not my highest priority. However, I have already begun investing in the equipment and learning the editing skills needed to bring it to you, and I hope that it will be well received once it is published. Until then, I hope that you enjoy everything else!

@@FayenceSoaring I am very much enjoying all your other content. Your videos are inspiring and beautiful to watch. I hope one day to be able to visit Fayence and experience such flights for myself.

Chris, I was thinking of keeping a spare V3M around the Alps, maybe Fayence as I noticed Atlanta-to-Nice is easy. Q? Why does Fayence have so may short and few long flights on OLC? Maybe a training school and regulars don't post?
@FayenceSoaring
@FayenceSoaring 2 года назад
The French generally don’t post to their flights to the OLC as much as other nationalities as they have a francophone site called Netcoupe. A few of our pilots post to both OLC and Netcoupe, and we’re considering promoting posting to WeGlide. And of course the last two seasons were hit hard by national lockdowns due to Covid. Your V3M would be most welcome here, and you’d love your time soaring from Fayence.

Thanks Chris! Got my first 1000K last month and your videos really helped in that. Hoping for many more distance flights this year and the first ever Georgia to DC and back flight. Well, technically West of Dulles so not shot down but you knew what I meant 😂

Hi Chris, a question: How do you power your GoPro Max? I bought one after seeing your videos, but I cannot figure out how to power it effectively. It seems that a powerbank only works when the internal battery is removed? And even then I'm not having much luck with filming for prolonged periods of time. PS: Looking forward to come to Fayence with my DG600 in weeks 28 and 29.

Bonjour, Lars! My ASH 31 has a USB charging port installed, and my GoPro MAX is plugged in all the time. The main concern is that the MAX overheats very quickly, so you’re limited by keeping it cool. Limit your shots to 10 minutes, or if it’s less than 10ºC outside, keep it ventilated with outside air. À bientôt sur la piste!
