Walking around the garage the other day and got to thinking.... I haven't took the STS-V out in a long time. When I say a long time we are talking 6 months or better. So I thought I would get you guys a nice Vlog about it.. Hope everyone enjoys!

Absolute favorite car of all time it’s been my dream car since I was 13 and I’m now turning 19 and the passion and love I have for this car has not and will not change, so happy to see someone posting an appreciation video for the car I check once a week to see if there’s new vids on it. This car is timeless and you did an amazing job showing it off!!!

I love these cars. Like he said they are super under appreciated. I honestly think it's because no one knows they exist. I didn't know up until a few years ago and I'm a pretty big gear head.

Northstars were fixed in 2004 bro. FYI. I've had 4 STS from 2005 to 2010 and all had Northstars (one was a v - was stolen and trashed sadly). My current one is an '08 with the V8, 154k miles. And she is awesome. Cheap transportation, also comfortable, and spectacular. :) BTW I should say, your V is gorgeous. You should drive her more. She's meant to be driven. That supercharger whine is absurd hahaha! Nice. I do thank you for sharing this video with us!

When mentioning Northstar, many people dont realizing that there are numerous types of Northstar engines. The Northstar engine that was talked about the most was the L37(4.6) and LD8(4.6) front wheel drive application that were assigned to Devilles, Sevilles, Eldorados. They improved this engine around 2004 with better head bolts from the LS6. As for the other Northstars: LC3(4.4), LH2(4.6), L47(4.0), a rwd application, didnt carry the flaws of the earlier LD8 and L37. The LC3 in the STS-V and XLR-V is a bullet engine. A tuning company D3 has been tuning both of the models up to 600 plus horsepower The L47, which was assigned to Oldsmobile Aurora was a very good engine also. Carrol Shelby used the L47 in the Shelby Series 1 and made up to 400 hp in the early 2000s. Then you have the Shortstar engine which is a V6

STS V is an amazing car. Only real issue I have with mine is how it completely engulfs gasoline. Like 11 mpg around town and not even getting after it much. But yeah, the car is awesome for sure. And for the record, Cadillac fixed the headbolt issues with the Northstar prior to 2004. None of the last generation Northstars ever had that problem. Very reliable engines, routinely pushing past 200k miles. But that noise man... the supercharger whine, it's intoxicating hahaha! Love it.

Big old super charged V8 cadillac, when you buy a car like that you have to go into it knowing that it was designed to NOT be fuel efficient. Its big/heavy with a V8, performance gearing and a fricking supercharger while its performance may make you question the speed of light, ultimately its MPG will bring you back to reality and make you respect the laws of physics because of this car is design/setup perform. Also not sure what your doing but if you are putting regular gas in it thats only making your actual MPG worse because now your forcing the car to operate with a different type of gas then it was designed to use and it has to pull timing to make your engine not blow up. Low double digits around town in a nearly 500HP 4300LB, car sounds about right, especially if its not running properly/proper fuel. To get reasonable mileage out of a sts-v you would have to be doing highway driving, with the wind at your back, down hill, 5 below the speed limit and feathering the throttle even less aggressively then your grandmother even if she's already dead. If your running proper fuel and really really baby it, I mean literally treat the gas pedal as an on/off button instead of a throttle you might be able to squeez a few MPG, but I think 13 MAYBE 14 is about the absolute best MPG you'll see from that car, again only if its running properly and you drive it like your trying to balance an egg in the backseat.

I got an 09 STSV 120k miles that i'd be interested in selling, I owe about 14k on it and the payments are 320. Car is stock apart from a 3in custom exhaust and K/N filter

Very nice car another of GM /Cadillac failures.Not the car it's awesome they just didn't market it right and it received a bad name because of the motor which was no way near the same as a regular Northstar engine, than it was discontinued, replaced by the XLS front drive and the CTS was the alternative.
