I have traveled through the cosmos in many a vessel to rid myself of my hunger conDISHion. In my travels I stumbled upon the nectar of gods, Beef Ravioooooooooli. Perfected by the one know as the chef of BoyR-D , one bite and my hunger was....... DELETED!!!!!! HAHAHA YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS HAHAHAHA
I'm guessing they don't prioritize meat quality? I loved both as a kid. I bought some last year, and gave the rest away. It tasted great when I was a kid though. Even though we always had the generic Chef Boyardee.
I remember as a kid seeing a couple of them on WTBS out of Atlanta as my grandmother had a crazy amplified TV Antenna on the roof of her house with a rotating motor, that would pick up almost every station here in SC along with a lot of stations from NC, GA, FLA, and at night sometimes even far as TN, same with the AM/FM stereo she had it wired into as well. Anyways I always got a good laugh out of the Dusty car commericals.
That Terry Funk impression made me laugh like a mad man, people at work now think I'm insane. Well, maybe just a little more insane than they already thought I was.
My dog's name is Muffin. He's a little, brown, Yorkshire Terrier. His ears kept going up and his tail started wagging every time you said "Muffin". By far, Muffin's favorite episode.
One of my favorite parts of Lita's book is the story she tells about that commercial It isn't really anything special It was just her saying they were on that mountain all day eating cold Chef Boyardee but for some reason I really enjoyed it
The reason most of us hate commercials isn't because they're advertisements; it's because the interrupt the programming we actually came to see. Like, for example, I don't mind the banner ads on youtube that only appear in the bottoms of the videos and don't make noise. I do, however, mind the video ads that I have to sit through BEFORE I can get to the good stuff. The current product placement system in modern TV is much more tolerable than the old system of commercial interruptions (the key word being interruptions).
Your reaction to muffins at a Pizza Restaurant is classic. I love your reaction, so much. This is one of my favorite RU-vid videos you have done. Keep up the good work!
I actually remember some of these commercials. Hungry Man, the 7 Eleven slurpee, Stacker 2 and Stinger. Believe or not, I liked that Stinger commercial of the guy being chased around town. I was a young back then.
"Lance Looks Bored, cuz fuck Lance", top tier line, right there, perfect! Also...I am that guy that gets overly excited about Wrestlers on slurpee cups....no fucks given.
I wish Brian woulda commented on the irony of the glass breaking in the 2nd one and the supermarket fight. Seems like it woulda been perfect as a segway, even more with the earlier reference to it.
Haven't watched a wrestling event since I was like 12 (I'm 33 now) but love this channel and watch these videos like crazy. Brings back lots of fun memories.
I lost it when Brian got upset at Booker mentioning fried chicken, wouldn't that make him the racist ? "You are black you can't like or advertise chicken ! " huh !?
I worked at a Pizza Inn two or so years ago, and people would still talk about the old Von Erich commercials, pretty much everyone from here born before 1990 talks about them still. And yes, they actually did eat at Pizza Inn a lot. Not sure on the muffins though.
"LANCE LOOKS BORED BECAUSE FUCK LANCE"...... I'M DEAD... I'LL NEVER STOP LAUGHING. Even if people didn't know the context behind the whole Lance Von Erich situation your delivery was absolutely hilarious
Good to see you used those Von Erichs Pizza Inn ads I sent you last year. Thanks, man. Also, the Muffins thing being sold in the buffet? Must have been before Pizza Inn started doing the "Pizzerts" aka Dessert Pizzas. Cause I know the Muffins were never sold in my Pizza Inn (Before it shut down) and the Pizza Inn a county over. All they sold dessert wise was the Pizzerts. But enough of my rambling. Thanks again for doing this. :)
I still hear Booker T saying, "A whole pound of food men love, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, corn, and pudding" every time I walk by and see a hungry man dinner in the aisle. Though, now that I think on it, I don't think I've seen a hungry man dinner with pudding.
Ever since I saw this video and the Pizza Inn commercials with The Von Erichs, I have brought up the whole pizza with muffins thing as a way to gauge their reactions by asking them what they'd usually think of having on the side with a pizza. So far, it's the last thing they'd think of having with pizza.
Nowbi5s a tagvteam match. Melo Yellow and Sabretooth Tiger you're going to have to put aside your difference because tonight youre taking on...... The Tag Team Champions, the unbeatable combo, PIZZZA ANNNNND MUFFFFFFINS.
Also, there were rides at the Burger King that took tokens back in the day. So, I believe that the 'collect 3 tokens' meant that in addition to the burger, you got three tokens.
Ads actually work in the reverse for me. The more you shoved it in my face, the less likely I want to buy it because you would honestly be pissing me off. If I am into your product, I'll buy it. End of story.
I actually had a WWF Championship fanny pack back in the day. I kinda wish I still had it, I used it occasionally but also felt it was way too dumb to wear in public. This was like New Generation era too haha this is my favorite Pain in the Ads.
Yo Zane i honeslty think that your comedy can a lot of times be very underwhelming. But that Matt Hardy joke screaming DELICIOUS made my day nice one XDDD *Gives props*
We all can't forget the right guard deodorant commercial with Hulk Hogan in it standing at a beach pretending to paint the scenery and acting all sophisticated and with the sologan, "Anything less would be uncivilized". The joke being that, "OMG, a wrestler acting intellectually!" lol
can you believe its been almost 20 years since that Super Bowl commercial was release!? WWE had just released the making of that commercial like a month ago!
I still say one of the best commercials was the one they added into Southpaw Regional Wrestling. That actually felt like it was a part of the show and not just some contractual obligation.
Just a suggestion, next time you do an add wretrospective, do one on the WWE PPV commercials. My personal favorites were Royal Rumble '14 and the Halloween Havoc Pete Rose ones.
When I lived in Cali, I loved me some 7/11, as a kid. Slurpees were life. Since I met RVD, at a local amusement park, I had to go buy a RVD slurpee cup
I am from the Kansas City area.i don't recall any TV ads for local business that featured wrestlers. There might have been one for a local car dealer (Boots Williams Ford)that featured Bull Dog Bob Brown..but I am probably just imagining it.I do remember seeing that Von Erics pizza ad,A LOT,during WCCW on channel 62.
That poster was really ahead of its time. The goofy-looking, musclebound man in space with a sabertooth tiger is the kind of image that normally gets made into memes. People would buy it for irony's sake alone.
I love how ads tend to repurpose wrestling themes, like how they used Benoit's WCW theme in the Bulldog commerical. I remember some commercials in the 2000's using the Hardys' theme.
