I'm trying something new in this video, instead of my normal Narration where I explain my painting steps, sometimes repetitively, I've instead written a short story about the model I'm painting which I narrate while I paint!
The story for this adventure is titled "Memories from an empty head" Written by me Paintman Journeying and the model is a Skeleton Commander from the Vampiric Undead faction from One Page Rules.
If you like the models check out the One Page Rules Patreon: www.patreon.com/onepagerules

This is a really unique idea! I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more videos like this! It's often said that there are stories tied to the miniatures being painted, yet those tales aren't always readily apparent to many, narration like this really helps!

This really enhanced the painting experience for me. It was awesome to hear how you see your minis while painting them!

I actually thought you’ve always done a good job providing unique content and love that you’re trying to find something new to share. I really like your new approach. It’s great to see how you paint along with the colors that you use while listening to a really creative short story about that character. It brings a lot of life to your work! Thanks for sharing!

Not bad. I liked the story since it was told well and the fact you showed all your painting steps which is really helpful for someone trying to get better. I think as long as there is a model to go along with the story this could work, but still try to sprinkle in some teaching videos as well. Thats my two cents so I hope that helps. :)

I can see this appearing on the channel more regularly, the effort that went into production was great, I imagine theres a bit longer of turnaround as its somewhat seperate processes? Definitely an interesting change of pace, I was actually quite enjoying following along with the paintjob without direct narrated play by play and the story was entertaining in its own right

It was a little more involved on the audio side of things, but it was definitely more fun to write once I had an idea, and was a little more simpler to edit the video since it wasn't directly to anything I was saying.

this is a wonderful idea. and it could be even better used to tell tales about your games. or tales of what could have been if that game that got re scheduled did happen.

OPR does a superb job in making 40K great again. (Their skirmish variant sucks and is redundant though).

That was so cool! I do this exact thing in my videos, painting minis and sharing stories around them, so I instantly loved the idea. The story was really good, and I love how the skeleton looks! Great job as always, and I hope to see more of this soon! The only constructive criticism I have is, especially at the beginning, there were a couple inconsistencies in terms of verbal times, with some parts being narrated in present and others in past tense. It wasn't grave enough to make it difficult to understand the story, but I think it's worth noting just in case for future narrations. I hope it helps! Also, if you ever want to collaborate or just discuss ideas, feel free to contact me! I'd love to hear more stories from you.

Ya I'm not the best writer when it comes to consistency XD Even in my normal narration I flip flop between trying to describe things as "I did..." which I prefer to use so I never seem like my way is the 'right' way by saying things like 'you should..' But I constantly write in 'You' into my scripts x_x

@@PaintmanJourneying I totally get that, but don't worry too much! While it's a good thing to try to do, it wasn't so bad that it made the story confusing or anything like that. Really good job on the mini, the story, and the narration!

I was skeptical at first, but man, the story really captivated me. The paintjob happening while we heard the story really gave it that special feel of listening to a podcast/audiobook while painting. I really enjoyed the format, and I'd be happy if this became something regular.

i'm trilling to make an human empire halbadiers regiment that were veterans from a war that they fighting against an giant, one that devoured some fellow man and even in this desperate situation they keept their ground and try to fight the best they could until an noise of something cutting the wind in high speed appeared and it was a cannonball, one that blasted off the giant shoulder and made him fell with the blast to be soon after killed by the horde of spears, hammers and sword in the head.

Not really a fan, and it felt especially out of place considering that it sounds like the battle is like WW1 more than fantasy or Renaissance..
