Interesting, thanks for sharing. Yes of course Sri Lanka is definitely ancient. You are spot on. First wave out of Africa was Australia, then Sri Lanka and surrounding islands, some 65 000 yrs ago. Lol india always assume that they are first civilization 😊

Our history book, MAHAWANSA has never mentioned that Vijaya came from India. According to MAHAWANSA, Vijaya has come from Lata Rata in Dambadiwa. Which is a part of the Ceylon itself. The Ceylon had four Dveepa's marked by the main four rivers. Those four rivers started its streams from "Anothaptha" Lake, now known as Horton plains. Those rivers are Mahawali, Walave, Kalu and Kalani. Accordingly, four Dveepas were Jambudveepa ( Dambadiwa), the entire area between Mahawali river and Kalani river ( mainly central, north west, north , north central, east and north east) Lanka Dveepa, the entire area between Mahawali river and Walave river ( mainly south east and south), Giri Dveepa, the entire area between Walave river and Kaluganga river( mainly a part of south and south west) , Kuru Dveepa ( mainly west and part of south west). After that these Dveepas names were changed to Phiti Rata ( Dambadiwa) , Ruhuna Rata (Lankadweepa) and Maya Rata ( both Giri Dveepa and Kuru Dveepa). The area where Anothaptha Lake is situated was known as Himalaya or Himawatha. The Mahameru or Siri Pads or Adam's peak is located close proximity to this lake. As per the book of Robert Knox, published in 1681, " AN HISTORICAL RELATION OF THE ISLAND CEYLON IN THE EAST - INDIES" ( Translated into Sinhala as EDA HELADIVA), his experience in 20 years in captivity in the Kandyan kingdom. Even in the 15th CE, the people lived in Kandy kingdom have mentioned that the area where Adam's peak is located as Himalaya. This MAHAWANSA is the history of Lankadweepa, about the kingship of Mahasammatha. That is why in its very first paragraph, the anals of Gothama Buddha is elaborated. The present carbon test capability has no ability to prove the history written in MAHAWANSA. The mistake of the British Colonial officers was that they applied about the kingships which were written in MAHAWANSA to entire Ceylon ( SEEHELAY). MAHAWANSA represent the Shakya ( Mahasammatha) kingdoms and kingships in Lankadweepa ( Ruhunu Rata). Britishers made a wrong translation and marked Dambadiwa atlas in North and Central India. Lankadweepa atlas in Dambadiwa ( Phiti Rata) in Ceylon. Not only that further they made a syllabus on this wrong history fabricated by them and mandated that this syllabus were taught in the education system created by them in their Colonies. These Colonies included India, Sri Lanka ( Ceylon) and most Asian countries. Understand that during the colonial era, no one could challenge British thinking and that was the final. All local scholars were pulling the line together with colonial masters.... YES SIR , YES SIR.... Now the challenge for Indian and Srilankan historians is to clear this. They accept the fact that due to this British fabrication the true history of both India and Sri Lanka cannot be explained or narrated in a proper order.

Sinhala pali for Hela. The Vijaya story was not that prominent when the Portuguese arrived. They give many versions of who this guy was including being a Chinese pirate. Still no such Vanga kingdom has been confirmed in India. If the Sinhalese came from India, then Sinhalese should be found in India but there non. The Portuguese record that Anurajapura was named as such in 736bce by King Asela. As before him was 90 kings. Today Anurajapura named changed to Anuradhapura to hide it's actually ancient history.

Thanks for opening up this discussion and revisiting the common narrative that is loosing its validity. Given the more recent discussions of Indian archeologists and historians and the findings of settlements in South India such as Keeladi which are said to be parallel to the Indus civilization it looks as if there were waves of migration. Therefore, you have given a good start to building an alternate hypothesis and I hope our historians and archeologists do more research on this subject.

The "Younger Dryas" is the name of the game. This s the around 11,700 years ago when the last Ice age glacial minimum happened. Lot of Ice melted in both polar regions and the sea level rose over 40 meters in some ocean than others. This was time period the connection between India and Sri Lanka was lost. This region is now an Isthmus called "Adam's Strait" Just before this happened a large island located south of Sri Lanka called "Kumari Kandam" was engulphed by the sea. Today this large island is in the shape of many tiny islands and Atolls. Today it's called Maldives. Maldives until it's demise in and around 11,700 BPT could had been the "Garden of Eden". Many group of people sailed in many direction and some landed in Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Sumer, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Ararat mount, Gobekli Tepe and many other places. Those who came to Sri Lanka settled down along the southern coastal line mainly from Tissamaharagama, Kathirkama, Kirinda, Okanda, Panama, Arugam Bay, Komari, Thirukkovil and many other places. These people were called Nagas. At this time Siri Lanka was already inhabited by the Yekker people those who lived on the mountains. They were mainly the same people as the Western Ghats mountain people. Nagas invented Agriculture in the place called Kathirkama (Kathir means paddy bunch and Kamam means village). There is a believe among the Tamil people the people invented Agriculture was lead by Murukan or Kanthan or Kumaran or Kumana. Murukan wasn't a god but a human with wide knowledge and people considered his as god. Today all these southern areas where Agriculture was evolved some 11,000 years ago is reserved as National parks. Why? Because the Government of Sri Lanka is hiding a secret. It has been doing secret archeological researches to determine to whom these civilization belongs to. Another interesting fact is why the Sri Pada mountain is called Adam's Peak and why the Palk Strait is called Adam's Bridge? What the Adam has to do with Sri Lanka? As I said earlier Maldives might had been the Garden of Eden. Once is was destroyed people assumed Sri Lanka as the Garden of Eden. Another interesting fact is the Sigiriya Rock Garden. This would have been once the Astronomical Observatory of Ravanan. Therefore it would had been old as some 7,400 years. Kashyapa didn't build this but used to hide in this mount. Those 2 animals paws in the front are not Lions paws. They belong to a bird. It could either be Raven or Vulture.

Sri Lanka is great. It dares to discard its colonial name "Ceylon" unlike its neighbor "India"

Celau was a Portuguese name given to present Sri lanka when under their control from 1597 and 1658. "CEYLON" name was used by the British when it was their colony. Not wanting continued shame after independence it was discarded and replaced by Sri Lanka. British also invented a name "INDIA" for the many states and kingdom put together in their control. Strangely "India" still lives under enslavement mode and refused to change colonial name.

So, when Alexander the Great headed east, he probably knew where he was going. In Anuradhapura there had been a Greek settlement belonging to 9th century BC. Some of the ruins of buildings have excellent sewerage and drainage systems. Where in Sri Lanka you fing toilet seat arranged in a circular fashion in one toilet?. And what about the engineering marvels of MaduruOya unearthed during mahaweli excavations?. They belong to same period as Mohenjo Daro.

@SonnyListon-rb4er So my friend, what I cannot understand is why our people trying to play second fiddle to Europeans?. Tourism is the last thing any county can have for development. Greece is the best example; that has killed the creativity of the people and dependent on Tourism. Thailand another selling their soul.

The narrative of your history was appropriated by your colonizers and sold to you to believe as you are lower to them; your inventions and intellect is now theirs. Only military might wins on who controls economy and the narrative of history. Most advanced weapons or new weapon invention creates economic power. Your colonizers had advanced ships with canons, what does your new masters have? Poor Indians had it worse, large amount of western thought was appropriated by Indian Vedas, then “new” inventions and celebrated intellectuals made claim as their own (with fine tuned adjustments). Both your history, intellect and inventions are now sold back to you as their property, with their names on it. ..Dig deep and you’ll find all the fakes.

@@caiussl3249 Hello, I didn't mean the warrior king was heading to A'pura. It is a well known fact that one king in ancient India (west) gave the toughest fight to Alexander the Great and he could not defeated. So he returned leaving the area he conquered to one of his generals. That king was Porus (mentioned in Greek text) or Paurusha ruling in Peshawar area. He married the General's daughter and became allies. He had been pushed out from there by Chandraguptha Morya. Porus's ten children supposed to have come the Sri Lanka with their followers and established colonies. A'pura is one of them. I am narrating this story from a book written in Sinhala by a researcher. He gave me the book about four decades ago and unfortunately I have lost it. Hope this will be of interest to you. Mister looks like you are also from Sri Lanka. If so these remnants can be seen in your next visit.
