Sound quality here is better than the others, but one (or some) of the other versions Maynard stretches his voice higher with Billy in the chorus, which is more enjoyable to my ears. Happy to say that I saw them play this on their first tour of Australia. It blew me away.
To any and all, it's not a question just for Maynard.... yes he is the lead singer, however it's up to the entire band. APC isn't just Maynard nor is Tool or Pucifer. He is but a man he doesn't play the instrumental parts so with that being said, that is one of the biggest reasons he no longer spends his time in the front at any of the Tool shows. I'm a fan been to so many shows, of both Tool and APC's. I haven't made it to see Pucifer however it's a part of my bucket list of bands I wish to see. I would truly enjoy it if Maynard would come back to the front of the stage. Both bands I've seen all have amazing stage presents. Until everyone realizes there is an entire band and not just Maynard, we will not if even then see him come back to the front of the stage.

There's a really good live version the band put out back in 2000 on their website when the band first recorded and was trying to get publicity. I wonder if that's still floating around out there.
I like the "sanity now is beyond me" version of the chorus way better than this one. For the longest while I couldn't figure out why I didn't like this as much as the other recordings out there, it's because they changed the chorus sadly.
I like how a title is a combination of diary of a mad man by Ozzy Osbourne and love song by the cure. Just like how the song sounds like a combination of the two
Everyone wants a studio version of this,however I don’t think it would sound right! I think you would take away from the sound this should be left alone the way it is!
Maynard couldn’t hold Randy or Ozzys jock strap and he knows it. So does everyone else that ever played with him. Thanks for doing this song this way, since you sure as hell could’ve covered either one legitimately. FYI that’s where the diarrhea thing comes from.
Although I do appreciate Ozzy's skills there isn't a vocalist or a lyricist that can hold a candle to Maynard James Keenan. By far he is one of the very best of this generation.
