Hi Everyone!
Welcome to Catalina Island! I haven't been to this magical land since I was a child, but I remember loving it so much! I was just able to go back for one incredible, adventure filled day, and I'd love to bring you all along with me on a virtual vacation to a historical island destination.
If you're able to spend a few days here, I'd very much recommend it. However, if you're on time or budget constraints that might not be possible. But don't worry! For all the amazing adventures you can have on Catalina, you can actually fit most (not all) of them into a single (well-planned and very packed) day!
We started bright at early at the ferry in Long Beach and a little over an hour later we were walking the sunny shores of Catalina! Before all else, I got myself a coffee at Scoops and enjoyed it on the edge of the green pier extending into the bay. Fortunately, that was the very same pier the parasailing tours left from!
After that, we turned left from the pier and rented a golf cart for an hour long tour of the whole town. The route is conveniently marked along the map and the roads so you won't get lost. And the entire route takes about an hour! Highly recommend! Stunning views and a wonderful way to see everything without hours of walking! (Note, at this time they are only accepting cash to rent the golf carts).
Then we hit up a roof top restaurant before walking the shores of Avalon towards our zip lining adventure on Descanso Beach. From there it was time to stop for a drink at the beach-side bar before heading out for a historical architectural tour of the famous casino.
There was just enough time left for window shopping and dinner before we headed back out on the ferry. It was such a wonderful day!
