Can I be adopted into your family?! 🤣 I still am blown away by how much you guys do. I hope to work my way up to your level so that my future family can live a similar lifestyle ♥️
I saw you getting carrots for your dinner, strait from the ground, and thought "just how RICH they are! " you are truly a blessed family. I pray to have this abundance someday as well. Shalom!
I just want to say how much I love the word shalom, every time I hear it, it just brightens my day and I'm so happy to know that others say it. The meaning is so beautiful.
Y’all remind me of how wonderful life is when your kids are just little tots and yungins and they love to work right beside you. God bless this family. 🙏❤️
What a beautiful family you have. Everyone works together and has good times (the cow strut was comical). You should pat yourselves on the back for instilling those values to your children. They will appreciate them more and more as they get older. 🙂
This video brings me so much joy and fills me with immense hope!! Very content family, it's beautiful to see you all work together and enjoy God's precious gifts!
You guy’s must be so proud of your children, because they are pulling so much weight and are so eager for the success of each task,I’m curious with mom having the artistic gift, and the green thumb, and dad being so methodical, mechanical and a man who can bring out the best of all he nurtures, who’s gonna be the musician in the family ? Things to ponder eh in this cold Ontario winter Eh !May gods blessings be upon you all,and thanks for the awesome knowledge you are sharing with us all.
You are amazing! The amount of hard work you and your family do blows me away! It’s great to see your children helping out and working together as a family. Thank you for letting us into your life and telling us your why! God bless your family! Keep up the hard work god certainly is blessing you all ♥️
It's just so pleasing to watch your video's. Relaxing is what we can do briefly while you work so hard then tomorrow is our turn again. When you walked into your pantry I smiled so big just seeing all your bounty in jars. When folks my age say things about the younger folks won't know what to do if times get hard I say "oh yes they will" and think of families like your's and my son's. So many are coming back to hard work but peaceful minds caring for their families. Blessing to you all and have a very Merry Christmas!!
Great video. I really like your music selections. Also, maybe it's strange . . . but I like the way veggies sound when they are being cut up! Now, If only my kitchen stayed looking so neat and tidy when I cook a meal :) Thanks for sharing!!
One can hear the crunchiness of the veggies. Outt of the soil and directly onto the cutting board. A truly beautiful family. Stay blessed and safe always 🙏🏽❤️🍀🍀 Regards from Germany
So proud to see kids hands on the chores! Thank you for showing great example of parenting. I even made goals for myself to be great parents like you guys. Salute!
My new favorite channel! I so enjoy watching young families learn about self-provisioning. As an old girl, hubby and I have been doing it for 30 years. Eating right is a way of life that will serve you well. It's hard work but so very rewarding! Keep it up!
Excellent video. Absolutely love your content. From Tokyo, Japan. Been sharing to friends in Texas. They are jealous of what you’ve achieved… Jealous in a inspirational way. ❤
You have a beautiful home and garden. I am having health issues and would like to do something similar. I believe a food change would help me tremendously. Thanks for sharing.
I love watching your videos, they are so inspiring! I made your soup tonight with the turnips and homemade noodles and my family absolutely loved it! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Hello, I just hit the subscribe button! I have only ever subscribed to one other channel, but yours is ALWAYS SO beautifully done, I just had to hit that button!!! I love that your husband and children are highly inbolved with all that is going on at the homestead and included in your videos! I love that not only are you speaking, but Cam explains what he and your family are doing as well!! Such great content, very professionally executed too!! And I LOVED THAT YOU ALL PRAYED TOGETHER around the table!! You are all a blessing! GOD BLESS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Thank you Wendy!! Such a thoughtful comment from you. We are glad you like what we produce, and glad you see the quality of videos we put out. We definitely put extra time in to make sure the videos "look good", and from comments like yours, it makes it that much more worth it!!
Hello!! Wow!! Your family is such a great example of what is possible!! Love watching and learning, from (you all..).. l am not a texan but have some friends way down south, across the border!! I live in Langley, B.C, Canada!!!!
Thank you so much! Husband dreams of going skiing in Whistler, which is yet a few hours north of Langley, but closer than from where we are at down south!! Cheers!
Hey, your family would be very welcome to come up and check out our beautiful city. The snow is perfect for skiing this year...More to come..Whistler is world renowned!!! Hope you have a chance to get up here and we will give you the tour!!! @@TheSeasonalHomestead
it’s sure hard work, but boy does pay off?!?. Growing your own food, in your own land, making everything from scratch and feeding it to your lovely family. What a dream, it’s funny how the more we progress and more simple things that used to be the norm in the past are actually a dream for many people like myself. You guys are very lucky, your children are great, they will grow up with beautiful memories of all the time they’ve spent with you guys.
Your video was beautiful. The editing and professional quality is top notch. Your cows look very healthy and well taken care of. Also I'm jealous of your beautiful kitchen! Blessings to you.
I love you guys a sense of humor work ethic and family love. I do want to tell you that my father was a lumberjack and I'm from northern Maine and let me tell you please please wear ear protection and a face protection. I've seen and heard of too many stories of people getting hurt. Also you never know when the chainsaw will kick back. So please wear protective chaps and shoes. I know this sounds tedious but it's very necessary. My father was on an incline on a hill and was cutting a branch for some reason and the chainsaw kicked back and he hit a shoulder. So please please wear more protection when using a chainsaw.
We had to upgrade our charger as well, but, not because of the cows! The Katahdin sheep were escaping! We went with a plug in Parmak and just hook the poly wire to our perimeter fence.
I’m thankful for all of the comments and questions that people post under your videos. I get almost as much help and inspiration there as I do the videos. Haha
This is my favorite video yet! I love all the more tutorial / tour type videos too, but there something so wholesome about this one with just a balanced bit of the homestead update at the beginning. Beautiful editing and music choices aswell.😘🤌
I have been enjoying your videos so much. You have so much knowledge. Can you share what books you've read to learn all of this? Specifically gardening & preserving. Thank you 😊
Sharing all our books that have built this knowledge base would be a few pages long, lol! The Ball Canning book is a good one to start with for recipes and general know how. Fool Proof Preserving is another one we refer to often. Under my "Shop my Favorites" in the description, you'll be able to see a more comprehensive list of our favorite gardening books and canning books.
The soup looks yummy! Do you guys milk those dexters? Their milk is amazing compared to traditional milk cows. Makes great cheese, and probably great butter to spread on that sourdough :)
Loved this one, the video production values and inspiration levels are going up each time! Cam is that gap under the chicken coup created by the wheels, is that an issue for predators digging under? I have a wheel lift on mine but I bought the whole coup so thats cheating, I need to get a bit more handy and learn some basic carpentry and fencing skills.
I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing a glimpse into your lives. It must be incredibly rewarding to have a meal almost entirely prepared by your garden and canning. As I'm preparing my garden for next year, I'm realizing that I need a new pair of overalls. Do you happen to know the brand of yours? They look durable and comfortable.
They are from dovetail workwear. They are pricey but worth it. I wear them constantly in the summer and they look almost as good as they did when I got them two years ago.
@@TheSeasonalHomestead Thank you for answering my question! I'm going to order a pair of those overalls- quality is everything for clothes, especially when bending or working outdoors. Your channel imbues optimism and encouragement into your hard work. Thank you for your example, advice and encouragement!
I subscribed Friday and am loving the content. Did your husband make the hole apparatus that your kids were jumping on to plant garlic bulbs? if so, would he show us how to construct it?
Glad you found us and thank you for subscribing. Yes, I (Cam) made the garlic hole punch :) Perhaps in a future video or blog post we will show in more detail how it was constructed. Simply put, I used scrap wood for the base and handle, then screwed tapered dowels into the base however far apart Becky told me to :)
Becky, do you grind your own flour? I absolutely love making my own sourdough bread and am trying to figure out the “character” of the different ancient grains. Thanks for the tip for using less water when you use spelt. Loved the video.
I love to get inspired by your videos. I have a weird question to ask. 😊. We purchased a piece of property in Arkansas looking forward to building my dream home. I am loving the flow of your kitchen/pantry/dining and living area! Where can I find plans for your home? What company did you use?
We found the plans online, then modified the interior a bit to better fit our liking. Had a architect finalize our pencil drawings so that the builder had some legit design plans to use. We are going to do a video tour of the home in the next few months. Look for that one!!
@@TheSeasonalHomestead so do y'all have mild winters there? I'm originally from the Midwest and now live in NJ I can't imagine being able to plant anything in the winter, it must be nice 😀 Edited to add- just looked up our zone and it's 6b as well! You learn something new every day
@@FeMcBride moderately mild winters down here. A few snowstorms a year that usually melt fairly quickly. In total, we probably get two or three months worth of freezing temperatures at night.
Have you ever felt like you're living in the fairy tale? I know it's a tale supported by ass-kicking work, but still. I cannot think of a more fulfilling lifestyle than this.
Loved everything but cringed when you scraped the cutting board with your knife. Get a bench knife (dough scraper) to gather cut veggies. They work better and save the blades of your knives. Or practice using the back of the knife.
