These are the rules our virologists and epidemiologists in Germany gave to pharmacists apart from the usual hygiene rules (distance and wearing community masks): • Let only one or two customers enter the pharmacy • Have them sanitize their hands on entering the shop • Serve customers swiftly, don't let them linger in the shop for prolonged times • Wear an FFP2 / N95 mask • Have a transparent sheet (at least foil, better plexiglass, glass) between your service area and the customer area • Keep the doors and windows open to avoid aerosols to accumulate in standing air, maybe use a fan in a window to keep the air moving out • Sanitize your hands before taking off your FFP2 mask • Wearing gloves is optional since the virus appears to be less stable on skin than on latex or nitrile This way you avoid breathing in aerosols containing dangerous numbers of infectious virus particles (our body can deal with small amounts without getting sick), getting hit by droplets, or accidentially ingesting virus particles on your hands, handed over with money. Latest surveys show that pharmacists dont get infected more often with the virus than the average population.

As a Crane engineer in the shipping industry, I have had to work throughout the pandemic. But unloading ships, though it may be dangerous, doesn't carry the risk that is experienced by health care workers, from this virus. I am a PA and completely understand your feelings. I also got emotional watching this video. So far, I haven't been on the front lines, but that all changes tomorrow, because I got moved to a different clinic. I will be taking care of soldiers who are COVID+.
