You know, there was a passage from a book where it actually does talk about how some noise marines were stimulated by the deafening sounds of the battlefield around them, so you probably are not wrong.
Still not sure about either of those, but that first world eater? I don’t think I have ever heard anyone say it like that before, this could possibly change my outlook on life
Not to interrupt yuz opinionz humies but DA ORKZ ARE BEST AND THERS NO DISCUZION (sorry if i don't make it up for the orks i'm kinda new to wh40k i mean just a year thats almost nothing)
They are discussing Khorne Philosophy: *1* Discusses that Khorne favours one who kills with a brutal haste, taking more skulls for the skull throne. *2* Discusses that Khorne favours not the quantity of skulls, but the brutality they've been taken with, giving more blood for the blood god. *3* Discusses that he's going to rip out all four limbs and spine of 2 to use them to brutally bludgeon 1 to death, and use 1's torso as a backpack to carry around 2's helpless but still alive body into battle to show him what giving blood to the blood god looks like.
The problem with number 3 is the prolonged torture would eventually feed Slaneesh instead of Korne. Korne feeds off the brutal murder, Slaneesh feeds off of suffering.
Truth is, the conversation is so beyond us. Mere mortals cannot hope to understand the inane screeching truth that is put on display for us to behold. That violence is the question, And the answer is YES!
First guy's succumbing to animalistic snarling. There's basically nothing left but rage in him. A rabid attack dog in power armour. Second guy's tormented by the constant pain of Khorne's "blessings" and is prone to screaming fits as his soul is torn, twisted and stretched by daemons. Third guy's new meat, still in control of his faculties, not yet overtaken by searing mental agony, and totally on board with the commonly known MO of the World Eaters, hyped for the next battle, and likely internally terrified of the other two being clear examples of the fate awaiting him if he doesn't please mighty Khorne. Little does he know that even those who please Khorne end up as nothing more than a body full of violence.
Blood pact member:"Soooo. What ya like?" Other blood pact member:"Hmmm. I like a big xenos skull. Those scary ugly bugs would have been great to fashion on my armour. Ashame we had to retreat."
Translation: 1: we flank the enemy on both sides and funnel them into a killbox with overlapping fields of fire whilst using precise artillery bombardments to soften up their defences in the meantime. 2: Once we've mopped up the killbox we storm the weakened defences with armoured support. 3: An excellent idea, the Alpha Legion cell should have made landing troops onto the planet easy as they would have ensured that their fleets are dispersed to other planets. 1: Get in contact with the Thousand Sons' fleet that just arrived in system, they may be able to help.
My question is how do World Eaters repair their own armor or do anything outside combat if they can't form a single coherent thought? How do they recruit people to replace fallen World Eaters?
They're a lot more coherent than most stories make them out to be, they aren't uncontrollable berserkers 100% of the time. Kharn and Angron are pretty close to being that insane, but they still have some clarity.
I believe it is a mix there are some berserker warbands who do nothing but fight and those ones are near destruction. There are others with a little bit of sanity that employ the dark mechanicum. I think the biggest reason is just the call of war and violence attracts a lot of space marines to the world eaters like a moth to flame.
Khorne is also the god of martial duty and discipline, he is honored every time you wake up on time, every time you stick to your gym schedule, etc. So they are surprisingly coherent and ordered when they aren't frothing mad on the battlefield (except the Red Butchers that you have to chain to the wall). I forgot where it was from, but a book mentioned Kharn liked to read and being appreciative of art and was a hobby painter when he has time to himself. They have lots of equipment left over from 30k, since they had an entire forge world supplying them, and before the 13th Black Crusade they were also the most active Legion attacking the Imperium (Cholercaust Blood Crusade, Dominion of Fire, War of Armageddon, THE Blood Crusade) , which meant a lot of specialists flocking to them. They seem to have a lot of fans in the Dark Mechanicum as well due to the sheer amount of specialist equipment that's made specifically for them like the, Blood Slaughterer of Khorne, Lord of Skulls, Kytan Ravanger, Tower of Skulls, Greater Brass Scorpions etc. Pretty hilarious in a grim way because this meant that Angron could have been a pretty decent at logistics (they had some of the highest recruitment rates in 30k) and a good diplomat if he didn't have the nails.
this is CLEARLY an argument on what foe is the best to kill for the blood god, world eater 2 makes some great points about killing emperors children and salaaneshi daemons but 1 is quite convincing on orks and loyalists. 3 is kinda meh on his love for killing eldar and necrons
Believe it or not, this was just a stage act to scare off any potential imperials listening in on them. Shortly after this video ended they immediately began calmly and collectedly discussing how they would execute a siege upon a nearby Hive City.
Deam, i felt that "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH OWOWOWO AAAAAAAGHG AHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" surely it must be painful to beat a rival in melee that you fought for two centiries in a row, especially if its an ork, F for that world eater
Translation: Brother Spine Tearer: "The current state of the economy is rather upsetting, at this rate prices for basic necessities sky rocket while the poor get poorer, and the rich richer." Brother Bone Snapper: "I actually disagree, nothing bad will come out of this, you see the price for skulls may go up but that provides better compatition in the current state of affairs."
I can't help but think about that 2nd beserker's last few words... really impactful. Words to live by, even... But the others made great points too... honestly, the next time me and my thousand sons brothers come here, we'd be happy to chat more, but right now, I'm getting a psychic phone call from Dad... Yes dad? The library?! Oh no! We'll be there right now! Sorry, cousins, but we really must delay this discussion for another time. There's an emergency back home.
Seeing those two renegades watching the world eaters argue reminds me a lot of the scene in a Regular Show where Rigby and Mordecai became smart and started speaking another language, I reimagine them like that.
I loved reading the Kharn the Betrayer book and learning that Berserkers who succumbed to the butchers nails were chained to the walls of the ship until they needed to be released for battle lol
"Guys, I've never thought about this before... But I have chainsaws for hands..." "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
Comparing one of the oldest, most venerated and integral factions of 40k with a cheap, gimmicky starcraft knockoff GW pulled out of their ass over a weekend, how is that even an argument?!
This is philosophy. Top Philosophy at the moment is: What's the point of thinking of things you don't have the answers to? Isn't Philosophy just simply sentences and analogies made to sound intelligent? And the second is, what is the point of conversation if everyone is biased? If I tell you something specific you won't have the same thing I have in mind. The political climate these days is all about self expression. Therefore these 2 are screaming and expressing some specific emotions. They do it together so it doesn't seem weird, only one guy has the problems, so I guess his 2 friends are helping him out. Hail Satan
“my dear battle brother, shall we have a conversation on the ideology of khorne?” “very well my honorable battle brother, what is the topic you wish to converse about today?” “about the ideology of khorne, does khorne care about the quantity of skulls or the quality of them?” “hmm, please elaborate further my battle brother.” “because we kill ever so indiscriminately in bloodthirsty rage, we do kill innocent civilians, which is not the true ideals of khorne. even though put lord wants blood and skulls from everyone available, he also wants to have honorable, psyker-less combat. which is rather conflicting.” “i do agree my battle brother, many skulls on khornes throne are of honorable, skilled opponents but even more are of people that even a world eater such as us would have no honor or joy in killing.” “i agree, our khornate symbols of worship do also make them either make them commit cowardly acts to save themselves, surrender and try to join us or kill themselves outright, making their skulls have no place on the skull throne, as they exhibited neither honor or skill in combat.” “therefore we should remove such symbols and fight only as honorable warriors for only the purest skulls for khorne.” “yes.” *1 week later* “ok how the fuck are we registered as a blood angels successor?”
After watching this the 2 chaos guards decided chaos was not has cool as they tought it would be and decided to start a new life. The chaos job market being rather limited they had to choose between becoming deamonculabas skin farmers or living sacrifices.
Political debates and feuds these days where instead of them reasoning and explaining why their perspective is better for people and/or being respectful they do nothing but mock and argue:
Imagine trying to get those guys on a ship, for months, just to travel to the actual battle…you’d have to FUSE bars to their arms, necks, legs and torsos against a friggin 2 foot thick set of ceramite bars just to keep them from going brain-aneurism wild all over the ship. Christ how do they stow these guys away during transport?
The philosophical debate between the khornate berserkers was very formal, punctual and very insightful to be honest, only the highest level of literacy and understanding of spiritual philosophy could possibly would have to be inherited to understand what these philosphers are talking about
I refuse to believe any khorne beserker has enough me tal capacity to formulate a single coherent sentence. Most khorne berserkers are after all veterans from the world eater ligion.
