I bought the 224ce K DLX from Blake at the Callaghan store last month. My 2nd major purchase with Alamo Music! Thank you! No other music store in San Antonio can come close to the personal, friendly, & knowledgeable service I’ve always received at Alamo Music! I LOVE this guitar! The sound is awesome! There is a misconception regarding the back and sides! I’ve heard many boo hoo this “laminated” model because they don’t know that LAMINATION is a PROCESS. We associate it with cheap- however, the FACT IS, the back and sides are SOLID KOA “laminated“ onto solid mahogany! My other guitar bought from the downtown store a couple of months ago is a Martin GPC16E which is incredible! All my musical purchases from pics to guitars are with Alamo Music! Bless you all ❤️☮️🎸🎶 Barney.
I have a 224 K dlx. Great guitar. Very pretty look. Nice sound. Soft and rich tone. I would recommend this for someone looking for a koa guitar over the solid koa versions. I don't think the solid versions are worth the extra money. I guarantee people will say "2k for a non solid guitar". You are paying the money for a koa tone. If you are all about solid guitars for a certain price, then you should never buy a taylor, gibson, or martin because a yammaha LL16 is all solid for like $800. A yairi at $1000 with solid wood can be purchased too.
Congrats! I enjoy Chris' proficiency in doing the "model turn" with the guitars, and would like to order that t-shirt as I resemble that! As long as the demos are played "in time" I don't mind the "timeless" humor... Thanks y'all! (Where would I find a "Granddad Bod" t-shirt?)
I really enjoy your videos and both of you are much better players than me. I primarily play red dirt, country, jazz, Western swing and classic rock but also enjoy some blues. Do you think you might be able to throw in some blues also when you do your demos? Thanks for the great videos.
I purchased a 224ce-k DLX used from GC. Put a set of Elixir PB Nanoweb 12-53 on it as soon as it arrived. I thought it would approach the magic of my 724ce but in no way did it replicate the brilliant highs, rich overtones, or playability of its solid wood US-made counterpart. I returned it. My 724ce has ruined most other acoustic guitars for me. Including all other US-made Taylors I’ve played as well.
This instrument sounds great, but I bet about 95% of that is Cooper. I bet he could make my $100 beginner First Act guitar that I got over 20 years ago sound great. :D
