Cant wait for the evolution where the mice just divorce and you have a 1/100 chance that your mouse gets the child when evolving a family of three maushold
Could apply to getting both children in a family of four maushold. Imagine how berserk the three segment dudunsparce shiny hunter would get. Oh, let's not forget that there's a chance to get dududunsparce in the future, then dududunsparce mega that has a 1/100 chance to be a mega with extra segments
When Tandemaus evolves, it has a small chance to evolve into Mauscarriage, which is Normal Ghost. If Tandemaus evolves into Maushold and it receives confusion damage, it can evolve again into Domaustic Abuse and it becomes a Fighting / Dark type with access to Beat Up and Parting Shot
It's really interesting how Gen 9's pokedex pretty much fluctuates between "unique pokemon that a lot of people like to use thanks to their unique traits that gives them interesting roles and niches" and "the most batshit insane Pokemon Gamefreak though of" with very little inbetween.
Maushold doesn't have 10 kids, so population bomb is just the attack equivalent of a cartoon character coming back in with a series of increasingly absurd costumes to do something repeatedly
Garchomp doesn’t get Dragon Dance, but some mice, a chinchilla, and a ferret get a better version of it. I love that small, fluffy Pokemon get a move year the shark dragon would commit war crimes for.
Said mice, chinchilla, and ferret also explode upon contact with Bulky 'Chomp with Rocky Helmet, which isn't a build you'll see much of any more, but was a really funny match up at the start of Gen 9 when 'Chomp and Maushold got more significant usage in OU. Maushold used Population Bomb! (It is in immense pain)
I love how they just reproduce in the PokeBall. Population Bomb is one of my favorite moves and it gets essential dragon dance and defog in the form of Tidy up
Switching a Pokemon with Rocky Helmet into the opponent's Maushold will always be 100%, pure dopameine. I don't care if my Pokemon's now at less than half health, I just watched a mouse couple bash their heads against a wall till they passed out. Everyone can go home, the game's over, nothing can top that.
Maushold's movepool is an absolute terror. paralysis speed control, doubles support, that juggernaut of an attack that is population bomb and finally, as the pretty little cherry on top, a bonkers move that combines dragon dance, on of the best setup moves with defog, one of the most crucial support moves in singles in Tidy Up
@@dustinbragg1921 hone claws would be good for solving the accuracy concerns, but tidy up is still superior, since the speed boost gives it sweeping potential, whereas with hone claws it would get killed by scarfers or faster pokemon. Plus, you can't make up with a scarf since hone claws isn't an offensive move. So i think even if it got hone claws, it wouldn't even be used
If I had a nickel for every time there was a Pokémon that used its babies as weapons, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that that happened twice
Maus is really interesting as a Pokémon, it’s not a stat stick like a lot of good mons, instead they just gave it a ton of tools and synergies. There should really be more Pokémon designed that way.
Maushold an absolute fucking TERROR in (Low Elo) Randbats. I don't think I've ever beaten it if revealed past the 2nd KO and never lost with it period.
Maushold as a surprise anchor is admittedly very effective in closed-team. Might be on me for not keeping my ghost type alive, but even a single tidy up boost can ruin a win condition
Pixilate - Skill Swap - Sylveon onto Tera Fairy Maushold sounds mildly horrifying... Syl could then have access to numerous sets like Psych Up/Stored Power, Screens, Misty Terrain to block Status, Charm to add more damage midigation as it is now the holder of Friend Guard, Copy Cat the Population Bomb!?
Klinklang. Funnily enough, one of them was also boosting moves that double its speed and boost its Attack (And then it also got Gear Up, even if it shares it with Magearna. No one ever used it, but you know.)
This is my favorite pokemon of my new gen hands down. It has a funny silly design and has very powerful aspects with well-defined counterplay. In a gen full of powercreep we do not deserve this silly lad.
Maushold is probably my favorite mon from Gen 9. It's so versatile, and I just love how adorable it looks. It's definitely better in closed team sheet Bo1, though. Surprise Population Bomb from a seemingly support-oriented Maushold can win battles turn 1.
I want to know who came up with the concept of Maushold. Gen 9 has some weird entries, but Maushold has to be the weirdest one. I want to shake their hand and buy them some good food
Maushold is adorable and I love them. Mice are my spirit animal, normal is my favorite type, and I'm a sucker for wholesome family stories. They make up for having bad stats by having a great move pool, a nuke of a signature move, and 2 abilities that makes them useful in both singles and doubles. Add all that up and you get my new favorite Pokemon of all time. 🐁
Using Feint into a Sucker Punch is SO funny. Sure I didn't do much damage, but you did 0 and now you're second guessing whether I'll Nuke you next turn.
For anyone hoping to use anything but wide lens on Maushold, here's the odds of you landing Pop Bomb's 10 hits without and with wide lens 0.9x0.9×0.9×0.9x0.9x0.9x0.9×0.9×0.9x0.9= 0,348, meaning a just below 35% chance to land all 10 w/o wide lens 0.99×0.99×0.99×0.99×0.99x0.99×0.99×0.99×0.99×0.99=0,904, meaning an over 90% chance to land all 10 hits w/ wide lens Use the damn lens
Maushold would have been OU if it wasn't for the fact that he cannot have an item that isn't wide lens so population bomb doesn't miss, and even so 99% can miss if finchinator hates you personally.
weaponize the fostering system. it's seeing an uptick in usage currently in VGC and only sometimes alongside an annihilape, which is absolutely hilarious to me, and i need more of it.
My personal set was friend guard maushold with with focus sash (spe&atk), along side duraladon population bomb it so x4 def from stamina (unless really poor rng but you typically can try twice due to sash) then use body press. Plus if it lives you can still use pop bomb on enemies.
“Time to Tidy Up” literally joked w my friend abt that all competitive pkmn players know is CS Draco, Protect, Set up weather/Toxic, and Tidy Up Maushold
Smeargle is not as good as maushuald as Smeargle need other supportive move like spore / nuzzle/taunt / stealth rock as much more more more supportive moves why have your Smeargle on trying to copy smth that is already there and it better with The same typing
i use dozo a lot on balance where i give it lefties instead of its signature item on stall maushold is a pain until you can curse but even then tera normal sets can KO it
If there was anything I could change about Maushold I would give it Parental Bond instead of Technician. It wouldn't help it in any way besides some gimmick strategies, especially not compared to technician, I just think it'd be funny if it could get hit 20 times by rocky helmet.
How consistent is getting all 10 hits? It never appealed to me cause it just seems like insane luck to get all 10, but do I misunderstand how it works? Like, instead of actually being random, is it, up to 10 hits until it misses, hence the wide lens?
Maushold in vgc closed teamsheet was frustrating in earlier formats, most ran friend guard support, but once in a while a random technician population bomb set could pick up some crazy surprise OHKO's and it could still be paired with annihilape to bluff rage fist + beat up, but do some gimmicky combos besides that like scarf final gambit + tidy up to make Maushold into the sweeper instead of Annihilape. Nowadays with Urshifu so prevalent almost every team has a rocky helmet user ontop of the power creep from legendaries entering the meta so technician maushold fell off, though I do think support friend guard will has a lot of untapped potential in regulation G
Yeah you shouldnt count on mausehauld as end game sweeper you should use it in The start or switch it out as The Third like it very good at Early /mid game it is still as good in end game but it very risky
Cinccino has more coverage options like Rock Blast and Bullet Seed, while Maushold relies solely on Population Bomb for big damage. Plus, Cinccino can use several different held items while Maushold is nerfing itself if it doesn't use the Wide Lens, at least in singles.
