The day I found out about Spyder will always be one of the most heartbreaking days if my life. He was someone I trusted, spoke up for, looked out for, defended, and respected. Him and his family were people who I lived with on and off for many years. I tutored the kids to help them with thier grades, would drive them to extracurricular activities after school, and to friends houses.
Two weeks after finding out about Spyder I had a heart attack. It literally broke my heart. When I returned to Slab City, I gave the family any and all support I could. His victim said to me once "I wish I could see him get arrested." Thoughts of bodycam footage came to mind, and then a different thought came to mind. What if I could give that to her?
We had an idea of where he was because a reliable source had seen him in Sacramento. I decided to borrow some money from some close community members and select sponsors, and risk it all to try to give his victim this gift. Not only being able to show him being arrested, but also to give her the gift of safety. I wanted to make sure he couldn't walk through the door at any time.
Spyder hurt a lot of people, and he didn't deserve to be roaming free. His victim needed this. His ex-wife needed this. I needed this. Slabs needed this.

For two more days I searched, was almost car jacked, and eventually found him and had him placed in custody. This is easily the most emotional video I have ever done. Spyder was a friend turned enemy who I had to hunt down and turn over to the justice system. I have extremely mixed feelings over this whole thing. This is my uncle. I grew up with him living with us for many years on and off. I will start off with I've always known he wasn't the best person. I half expected to see him on an episode of cops or something. But he is my uncle and for this crime he's accused of breaks my soul I only say it as accused because until he is found guilty or confesses that's the case. Unfortunately due to him running and what he said in this video it's pretty evident that he did what they say. And this hurts so badly to think he could do such a horrible thing and to a child. I feel so bad for this little girl I never met you but I'm sure you will see this and I am truly sorry for the pain he caused you. Throughout this video zig talks about the pain for the family but you all out there aren't his only family I lived with this man grew up spending my days with him and I never ever in a million years would have thought he was capable of this. As I look at him I see my grandfather the kindest sould in the world and it kills me to think what this would have done to him as his father. God rest his soul that he didn't live to see this day happen. Rodney you were my favorite uncle growing up I loved you dearly and I had always wished things had been different I missed you when you left. But now I am disgusted with the thought of you ever being around my children I pray you get help and I pray that you do the time you brought apon yourself for these crimes.

I feel for you. My uncle just got out of prison in AZ after 10 years for the same thing. It changes how you feel about them and casts shadows on your happy memories. Everything feels a bit tainted and you start to examine interactions and situations in a whole different light. If he has any shred of decency left he'll plead guilty and not force his victim to go through the pain of a court proceeding.

He may receive a lengthy sentence but with good behavior, minus time served in jail while waiting to go to court. The creep will be paroled in about 10 years. Pedofiles very seldom serve out their full sentence unless no parole is specified during sentencing. The scary thing is they will most likely prey on children again.

I'm so proud of you!!! Spyder does not deserve to be the person that is constantly talked about. His victim will feel this for the rest of her life. People will tell her that this wasn't her fault but inside she will blame herself for what has happened to her family. She is the superhero in this whole thing. She did nothing wrong. One thing that peoe can't say about Slabbers. We don't clog up cities with our tents and our "trash". We have made solid off grid housing for ourselves with very little positive regard. We are constantly filmed and treated like we are on display then ridiculed and threatened without anyone caring to hear. We have a spot that is not in anyone's back yard. We make our way without blocking anyone's city street. All cities have the same Probs. as the slabs. It's easier to point at us than be proactive and work towards change.

I know "victim" is the legal terminology, do it can't be avoided in referring to the young lady as such. I hope she knows that she stopped being a victim the moment she told. She's a survivor as she contends with the wounds of it. After that she can be one who thrives. That's what I wish for us all; to thrive.

I was molested by 4 different people as I grew up, beginning at age 4 and ending around 14 when I got my voice and stopped it all. Not one person believed me so I had to go it alone, totally alone. No one has ever been held accountable for any of it, no one, just me. Ive lived a completely broken life though i tried my ass off to heal. At 64 I am still broken. Failed relationships, unable to get through college, now living in poverty. I’m glad you got this guy, but…you didnt do it for me. I so wish you had. :(

Very kind of you to say that you did this for every victim who was never able to get justice. Since my assaults were done by a cousin over years when I was very young. I was afraid to say something. When I finally did,,,it was too late. He had killed himself after he was caught as a Sacto. Deputy after being with a young boy. I never got to face him to get closure. As so many victims are. I could tell this was very personal from the start because I’m sure there were times you may have admired him respected him and then to have that in one second be destroyed, and you knew it was the truth that must’ve been painful to deal with. Then making the decision to be an advocate for the person that didn’t deserve what happened to them by someone who was supposed to be protecting them. I appreciate the true friendship and love and support you feel for the family. Not everyone has a person like you in their corner. and getting a confession and sparing her a court trial. I couldn't skip one second, this story has all the same story points as a western. A few bad directions, one slip through your fingers, a bad informant, all to have him fall in your lap. No situation like this has a happy ending, but at least it comes with some closure
