In this video I discover an old cellar hole that leads to a ton of goodies over the hill. A lot of the stuff dates to the 1930's, 40's and 50's but some of it dates back further. I had a pretty good time digging though it for bottles and other items from the past. I even found some items that I can use in future projects.

Nice gun holster!

Yes, sir! Quite a surprise to find! Canada had strict laws put into place in 1934 so it has to predate that. Could be older then the 30's.

The wooden toy with the blue wheels is the base to a Fisher Price phone. I had one as a kid.

Maybe you should take one of these big Ikea bags with you, they are super sturdy and can be held on a shoulder

Love how excited you get when you find a treasure- I have these enamel green lights in my kitchen area- 2 large over the island and table and three small above the cabinets- Repurpose goes through my mind to with everything I find- Why not go back there again and dig for bottles- I bet there's a bunch of cobalt. It is, to an old revolver. Perhaps I should have stated "gun" because a lot of folks don't seem to know what a revolver is lol

Yesss bud. I need to find a good engine for my next project. I want to convert it to steam power. I also need to build a boiler. I knew that air compressor tank I found last year would come in handy!

Always a good day when you find so much stuff that you have problems getting it all home, thanks for the adventure! Give us more info about your new channel!!!!
@EasternExplorer
@EasternExplorer 7 лет назад
The new channel will be about the things I'm working on. Some of it will be tear downs of small engines perhaps even car engines and transmissions etc and clean up of things of I've found and how I repurpose stuff or sell it. I'll even throw in videos about working on my truck and quad and things like that. It would keep videos flowing through the winter as well.

have you tried "soaking" any rusty cans yet (I probably mentioned it before....) - its fun...

I have some fresh cans sitting on my shelf right now that could use a clean up. I might try it here soon.
@hellomcflyy

that would make a good video - before and after - did you manage to get any oxalic acid - I find it works decent on iron too...not the super lumpy stuff -but if you just want to clean it up a bit....(whereas citric acid brings it down to the base metal....does a lot of pitting - and gives everything this weird grey look)

Hey, just wondering what the significance of those blue jars is?
@EasternExplorer
@EasternExplorer 6 лет назад
the glass is colored using cobalt isotopes. Also commonly known as depression glass. Its slightly radioactive.

Great find. We have about 700 acres of farm land but there aren't dumps like this at any of the them. Would this have been a community dump you found or just for the house where the foundation was?
@EasternExplorer
@EasternExplorer 7 лет назад
Most likely just for that single house. It's a site I'll have to visit multiple times to really see whats there. The old stuff is always at the bottom of the pile. Some farmers have let me walk their properties and I've found some really cool stuff. Some farmers want nothing of it though and flat out say no. Thats the name of the game I suppose.

Some cool finds. I would have grabbed that holster though. Here's a link to that Triang tricycle you found www.triang.nl/trikes.htm My guess it's the first pic under Triang 1930 ( Pedal kar No 2 A )
@EasternExplorer
@EasternExplorer 7 лет назад
Good catch on the trike! Must of been a well off family to afford something like that during the depression. I've been thinking about that holster. I wonder if there is a way to bring back the leather to toughen it up again? I'll have to look into it. Thanks for watching!
@thisisunreal1
@thisisunreal1 7 лет назад
There's a lot of vids on RU-vid that show how to restore leather. I can't remember for certain what product it is but, you can soak leather to make it more pliable again. Cheers!

I alternate between the Cannon vixia HFR 500 and the HFR 700. The HFR 800's are out right now and on sale for $280 at Henry's Canada. The normal price is about $500 all together.
