A pretty pastel Spring makeup look
You'll find pretty pastel makeup colours everywhere, in the stores, it seems to be right on trend this season. So this weekend I'm going to create a pretty fresh lilac eye for you. Now you'd think I would have used the colour lilac or purple much more on the channel but I have to avoid it as my husband has a phobia (not just a fear or a dislike, a real proper phobia) to the colour purple, so I barely reach for anything in this shade including clothing.

Your last comment 😂! Definitely adding the kiko just above the crease onto the brow bone elevated the whole look. I appreciated the whole lilac adventure as a 55 yr old who used colour in the 80's but tends to stay neutral now. Great look, thanks Caroline! X

Love this look, Caroline! The final sweep of eyeshadow just made it perfect and, yes, I’m going to get the lipstick! 😊 Phobias are funny things, aren’t they? I have a phobia of fish so can really empathise with your husband. It started when I was about 7 and we were on holiday in south of France. I was paddling in the Med and a dead fish floated past. Ever since then, I can hardly bear to look at one, let alone touch one. I do eat them if they look like steak though 😂. At the moment I’m trying to get over it because my daughter loves to swim in our local lake’s here in Munich and it looks so much fun on a hot summer day. On that note, let’s hope for some more sunshine ☀️😊. Have a great weekend ❤xx

Ahhhh yes, tanning beds. I spent most of the 90s in tanning salons. And last year I was diagnosed with melanoma. All good now but the fight to undo all that damage is still ongoing. Soooo muchhhhh pigmentation. Wear your sunscreen, loves. And this lilac is FAB! ❤

Hi Caroline,yes a sun bed was my first big purchase when I started work & in the winter with no radiators upstairs it warmed me up before I got ready to go out 😳back then I loved laying in the sun,not now I’d get bored.🙂

I thought this week would be the one I wouldn’t like at all! I really hate lilac and lavender anywhere near skin, but as soon as you put the mascara on and the extra Kiko it started to look ok. And by the time you took your hair down it looked really good on you. 😅

Hi Caroline, purple is my favourite colour. I wear purple tops but have never been brave enough to wear purple eyeshadow. I tend to stick with neutral colours because my glasses make my eyes look bigger. I'm definitely going to give it a try now you've given me some inspiration. Love that lipstick!!! 👌🏻🥰

It’s so good ladies. I wear it every day with or without makeup. I have super dry skin and after using it, my skin feels nourished. It also does well under foundation!

Caroline thank you. I took your recommendation re the merit serum and it is lovely. I ordered the merit lip glaze in jete and was disappointed as it seemed like a clear glaze. Lastly re tubing mascara -u said before u see the little bits of plastic washing down the sink when removing-EEK the oceans don’t need any more plastic!

Oh wow, that just screams Spring to me. Got to admit that I normally swerve pastels but I do like purple as a shadow. Very fond of the By Terry eye shadow sticks in Misty Rock and Frozen Quartz as a combo as they have a purple vibe but very subtle, more like a dirty purple if you get my drift. The blush looks divine I have to say. Thanks for sharing.

I absolutely love purple and lilac, but can rarely get it right on my skin tone. I have a medium olive skin tone and find invariably that purples go gray on me (a color I avoid) or become too pinky mauve. I can even count how many shadows I’ve purchased hoping to get just the right shade but am largely unsuccessful. It looks beautiful on you!

Thanks so much for featuring Kosas. I have many of their products and love them, especially the Revealer concealer. It’s hydrating and great for dry and mature skin. I have deep-set eyes and it does wonders for disguising the under eye hollows. I enjoy their foundation as well. I hear the Cloud Set powder is light and ethereal. I also want to recommend the Rephr eyelash curler. It never pinches my eyelids and fits all my lashes into the curler! I loved the tutorial. You’re such a fabulous teacher. And yes, I’m buying that lipstick/balm! Have a wonderful weekend!

I didn’t know “purple phobia” is a thing. I am uncomfortable with that color but those shades are so pretty. I may have to over come my fears. Be well.
