That new national law is pretty terrifying for me :/ especially because the ER is constant progress notes. We already experience so much workplace violence and hostility - this makes me feel even more unprotected.
Hello Jamie from Bangladesh! don’t know if you’ll read my comment. I started watching your videos when I was a first year medical student. I passed Medschool and currently doing internship amidst this pandemic. You motivated me a lot by all the study sessions and more. You have been like an elder sister that I never had. Congratulations on being a chief resident. Hope someday I can meet you ❤️
I realized watching this video that I'm pretty depressed at the moment. I remember being able to get that much done in a day. Looks like I'm going to make some changes. Thanks have a great day 😊
I love the take-home activity! We did similar things for "wellness" at my med school, mostly for sip and paint style and we loved it! Hopefully, we can keep *some* spirit of zoom alive once this is all over, I agree! Congrats on your new position, BTW :)
Missed your videos, so happy to be watching a new one today!! I admire your work ethic and how far you've come on your professional journey. You are an inspiration!
What an inspiration you are Jamie! So dedicated and successful in not only your medical career, but also RU-vid and other areas in your life! God bless.
I have the same dumbbells!! They’re so convenient. Also, I wish you were my teacher, you sound so sweet and caring 🥺❤️ I aspire to be a teaching doc like you!!
What were the implications of patients being able to view all their notes? I think that’s a good thing as it gives patients more autonomy over their own healthcare.
The problem is that there are certain notes in the chart that may be about a patient being problematic as far as behavior, attitude, level of violence and such. That way the staff knows how to approach that patient and that patient may not consider themselves problematic. There are those that come in to get certain medications for them to get high on and that would be noted in his/her so that the staff is aware and can treat said patient accordingly.
I got emotional when you were calling those to congratulate them. I remember being in dental school and when I used to get callbacks, it was the best feeling in the world! congratulations on becoming chief resident! great vlog!
I'm guessing it's for the sake of transparency, or something like that. I understand that patients want to see everything that the medical staff put in about them, but it also seems like it could add undue stress on the doctors if they get caught up in overthinking about what patients will think when they read what they put in. I wish that paired with this open records thing, they would seriously redistribute the administrative tasks so that that isn't the dr's responsibility as much. I'm definitely not smart enough to know how best to do that bit, though 😅
OMG I was SO happy to see this upload. I've been rewatching Jamie's vlogs from 3 years back (lol) during my study breaks and using her strive studies all dayyyy lonnnggg. Thanks for the videos, Jamie!
