This scene murdered me. All that followed by him looking around the empty house and Brennan dropping the killer line "you solved the mystery of who your children were" resurrected me and then killed me several more times.
@restuhernando3578 no that's what I mean I thought the animation showed it glowing when Cerrit says that. As though she actually doesn't want to see her own kids
Critical Role, please make this your next Kickstarter. Critical Role Cast: "Presenting our new Kickstarter, EXU: Calamity - The Movie. With your support, we can..." Critters: *Funded in 45 minutes*
I'm here watching these again because of that "movie options" line in the new press release about their deal with Amazon prime. Please we all know that if anything in CR is gonna be a movie, it's gotta be Calamity, right?
Man the "Did I do something wrong?" of his youngest always kills me, because they have no clue what's going on and to them their mom already left and hasn't been back and now their dad is sending them away and they don't know why, this is a beautiful animatic and the expressions on Cerrit were so good, awesome job with everything
What I love is that the ring was glowing. He knew that it was a lie. He knew in this moment he would never see them again. And yet, in spite of that, he still kept his promise and made it back to them.
Its one thing to change the eyes, since those are still a very human way to emote, but the fact that they used the feathers to help express emotion really sells it too, like when Cerrit's head feathers went from raised to relaxed once he saw they were fine.
Little late, but my heart broke anew upon hearing once again, the *Eyes of Avalir* saying "I- I didn't see any of this coming." Wow. Poetic Chills, and the fact its an admittance to his *CHILDREN,* who he abandoned the quest to stop the Betrayer Gods from returning to come save, is. *OW*
Ah. You hear that? That's the sound of my heart breaking. Absolutely beautiful! You captured the emotions so well, pouring them into each frame. That's a very rare and incredible talent! Kudos to you and your art! 👏
The amount of emotion and intensity you were able to inject into every individual frame was super impressive. Especially when taking into account the character’s anthropomorphic designs adding an extra layer of difficulty in that specific regard. Very impressed! Thank you for sharing!
Dude I love your stylization of drawing Aarakocras. The daughter has a closer plumage to Cerris because she’s older, unique mannerisms like beak/brow movement, using the wings in a supporting movement to the hug, etc. Just cool stuff!
God this scene always makes me cry; something about Kir's "Da-Dad did I do something wrong?"Just makes me fucking bawl - which is great! I rarely cry anymore so its' lovely to have a scene get me this emotional!!! Amazing Animatic!!!!
this scene is one out of three cr scenes ever to really make me bawl like a baby and this amazing animation somehow made it even worse and now I'm weeping. the awkward teenage molt around his daughter's neck, the shine of the ring in Kir's eyes, the way Cerrit emotes with his feathers and hugs them with his wings -- amazing, thank you for this
Excuse me for a second. -leaves the room, cries an ocean worth of tears, comes back- That was incredibly well done and my eyes are blessed for its visual excellence. Congratulations
That scene killed me the sorrow and hope in Travis voice as he sends his children away to try and save his friends. I would love to see the cast play as character in the village that the eye of avalier starts up with other survivors. Would be a great campaign. Love your art style. Keep up the great work.
I’m so impressed with how well you captured their emotions while still making them look like realistic birds it’s fantastic. Broke my heart all over again
I'm very normal about the emotions I am currently experiencing. Amazingggg job on this!! It was so emotive and real. You really brought to life some amazing voice acting! As a personal preference, the background noise almost overpowered Travis' soft-spoken deliveries in certain spots, but even when my (admittedly hard of hearing) couldn't make out the words exactly, the body language was there to convey everything. So again, amazing job and thank you so much for sharing!
Every single detail in this is sublime. I love this so much it's insane! I hope you keep up the great work on making these clips realized! Also, I wanted to give special props to drawing feathers and wings well. That stuff is ridiculously hard and you did it wonderfully!
