Hi Carla, I have to smile when I think of how much you enjoy the simple pleasures in and around your home, because I thought that I was the only person who enjoyed the little touches of simplicity I have in my home. I was just telling my husband that when I came in from raking yesterday (yes I said raking, ha) leaves in our back yard that I always say to myself, I love my house. I do not have anything expensive, just many of my little treasures I have picked up years ago when I loved going to many antique shops and thrift stores, including six rocking chairs, two that I have in my dinning room that I just love. I just have this warm feeling of home that brings a smile when I come home, and I also see and hear it in you. When I asked my husband if he felt the same way about our home he said he did. He said just driving home on our driveway he felt that way. I said aren’t we so blessed, and he agreed. When I was younger, I loved baking when there was a snow storm or nasty weather outside, ha, and found it to be so homey and comforting. I also get that you feel the same way. I think we our the minority today but very fortunate. Sorry for the long chant, ha, sometimes I can’t help myself, and the funny part of my comment is many people think I am so boring and never go anywhere, I tell them all the time I do not know what that word means, I always find things to enjoy. Ha.. I look forward to your online store, I also said years ago that I wish I could open a store in our shed, ha, true story….But now that I am older 77 in March, I could never physically do it now even if I wanted too. But that’s ok, I will enjoy watching your dream come true. Many blessings to you Carla.🌸👏
Thank you for the beautiful comment Margaret! Yes, I love Home and Homemaking, I always have. I love finding “treasures” for my home and enjoy making a Home cozy and if I were rich I would love to have a couple of Cottages or Airbnb’s……we can all dream! Have a beautiful week! No raking leaves here! Lol
Why am I not the least bit surprised that there’s a double rainbow radiating over Carla’s home? God is surely beaming with pride over his beautiful, artistic daughter! A couple of observations: 1} Love that precious quilt draped over the wingback chair, - also the heart garland. They bring the cozy esthetic that makes one feel welcomed in a home instantly. 2} I didn’t know custard powder existed, interesting! - & I’ve not heard of chocolate pudding over vanilla ice cream before, I look forward with anticipation to trying that out. 3} The aura of your home is just wonderful. I love how well-chosen & well-arranged simple pieces can make a home feel so heartwarming & comfortable. It doesn’t take a Martha Stewart budget to pull it off - it’s the love & care displayed that’s so moving. We’ve had upper 40°s in northeast Indiana recently, not even a jacket necessary - I’m aching for a good midwest winter snow storm! Another lovely video, keep up the good work! 💜
Hi Carla and Margaret, I feel that I was made from the same mold. That includes me loving my home and its contents which have been collected and thrifted through the many years. I also like baking .decorating and gardening and being in my home. I have never been bored in all my homemaking years. At one time, I also dreamed of opening a store and selling fabric crafts. I will also be 77 in September. I wish you ladies luck and look forward to your store, Carla.
Hi Carla, what a cleaver idea to glue flowers on real branches and they looked so real in the vase. Enjoyed watching you make the custard. You have such a calming voice and so relaxing. Congrats on your new adventure and Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤❤❤
Greetings from, England, Carla, and congratulations on making that lovely custard. It’s not often eaten on its own here, though it is good with sliced bananas, but generally used as a topping to fruit pies and crumbles. We wouldn’t call it a ‘pudding’ per se, but rather an addition to a pudding. Oh, warm apple pie and custard - food of the Gods, whether English or American!
I had read where it is generally used as a topping; however, I was trying to save a FEW calories by eating as an American pudding. 😬😂. I will say it was yummy and would also be delicious as a cream puff filling. Have a beautiful week!
.Hi Carl from Indiana! you looked so pretty! The branch did turn out really lovely. The custard looks yummy, I should give it a go! I knew you were going to say what your favorite pudding was , it made me giggle ! That is exciting about your online shop, if you ever sell the copper coffee / tall teapot I absolutely love that ! I was in retail for many many years , I miss those little shops around here! Thats why I love quaint towns with the shops! Blessings Paula
Hi Carla, Greetings from the Gulf Coast. We saw some pollen this week and know spring is on its way. We have Mardi Gras Parades going on here. We have been drenched in the rain. I know our yard will be a beautiful green soon. Your yard is a beautiful winter wonderland. I have never been in but a sprinkle of snow. I know you are excited for your on-line story dream to come true. Have a Happy Valentine's Day.
Birds custard is a blast from the past , i'd forgotten about it. I used to have it as a child here in England. Now custard is popular ready made in cartons. I particularly like it with another pudding or fruit pie- in for a penny in for a pound with the calories 😅Your blossom branch was very effective..x
How exciting for you! I look forward to seeing your fabulous finds and products! I love how your branch turned out!! It is very realistic looking! Happy Valentine’s Day to you!❤️💖💝
Hi Carla! You always have such a beautiful view from your yard and add in a double rainbow, and WOW! The custard looked delicious and good luck on your new online store. How exciting!
Cosy video Carla, the Birds Custard is a regular item on our shelf’s in the UK, actually I agree with you I’m not fond of it I prefer Ambrosia if ever I eat it, your homemade custard looked gorgeous especially with the little cherry on the top!… I absolutely loved Larkrise To Candleford, the TV series was superb & I still every now & then watch it on video, the illustrations in the picture book looks so pretty. Your online venture sounds very exciting, I wish you well, I guess you will be selling your items in country & not overseas?… Great video, & I thought your jumper looks so nice….Kind regards…☺️
Hello From Michigan! I love the little tree you made (among the other items in your video)...on Friday I purchased a few Easter eggs to hand from some sort of tree. I help with day care for my 4 year old grandson and we have fun decorating each season. This tree project would be perfect to hang those eggs from! thank you!
Hi Carla, what a beautiful rainbow. Firstly good luck on your new venture I wish you all the very best. Love your beautiful assistant Jack, he is so adorable. Love the flower branches, they looked so real. I will make some too. Your custard looked delicious❤
The spring branch turned out amazing! I need to try my hand at that project. I am 73, and since I was small I always wanted my Mom to make me a custard pie for my birthday. Everyone else wanted cake with frosting. Your rainbow was gorgeous. We recently had one over our home out here in California, after all the rains. Its such a peaceful reminder of God's love. Oh my, how sweet was the floral cup and napkin with that beautiful pink cut glass custard dish! Looking forward to your online store1
Such a beautiful rainbow to start your video ❤ The branch looks beautiful, what a great idea and a wonderful way of bringing Spring decor into your home. The custard looked delicious....as has been mentioned, here in UK we tend to have it alongside a dessert....my favourite is with apple pie and also steamed golden syrup sponge pudding ❤ I had to look up Larkrise to Candleford as it sounded so familiar, good old google reminded me that I had watched it in tv....I think I'll warch again. Good luck with your online store, exciting things ahead and I am sure it will be a great success x
Thank you! I had to look up Golden Syrup Sponge Pudding, oh my, that sounds delicious. Enjoy Larkrise, I would also recommend the Cranford series. Have a wonderful week !
That flower🌸🌺 branch was really a work of art and so life like..I didn't get through your whole video yet though🌸 and I love that bowl of apple painting above it a still life
This was a great video for me because I remember my English grandmother making all kinds of custards and sauces and pies... she was such a great cook. I also love "Lark Rise to Candleford", but I too did not realize that it was a book.....what a great find. I'm so excited about your online shop. I will be one of the first ones in line ...can't wait until you're open!! Best of luck with your new endeavor!💕💕
@@mynewenglandstory I wanted to tell you , I have been using branches in my home for years To decorate, a vase with flowers, a wreath Also flowers on them also I also made beautiful birds that I sewed and hung them Your are beautiful I love my branches lol People now decorate with parts of trees with leaves on them Beautiful
enjoyed your video this Sunday afternoon - over a cup of tea. ❣Happy Valentine's Day❣ to you! good luck with your endeavour -- will follow along! Jacqueline ( from Maine )
🌹💝☕️💌🫖💌☕️💝🌹 The Lark Rise books are delightful, the character Laura in the show is based on the author's life. Thank you for the St. Valentine tea party 😊
Carla ❤ today's video felt like a VALENTINE'S Day gift, thank you for sharing the beautiful 🌈 rainbow and the lovely flowering 💐 branch that showed the feeling of Spring, great enjoyable work! The cooking segment was so enjoyable perhaps because I am a fan of tapioca, custard, also chocolate pudding as I grew up having for dessert many times.,yummy 😋 😊 at my grandmother's home. Looking forward to seeing more about your special announcement. I hope your little assistant Jack was able to taste the custard 🐕 Happy Valentines day to you & all 💖
Loved your crafted flowering branch. Definitely am going to do this. So easy and materials needed are readily available and free! Looking forward to your new store. Good luck and thank you for this fantastic video!
That was a gift from a friend a few years ago, so unfortunately I can't help you with that. I checked for a Brand name on the bottom and there isn't one, sorry.
