Thanks for sharing your background! I've had several careers in my life that were, at times, drastically different from each other. In the past few years, I've been slowly learning 3D art and indie game development. As you mentioned, it can be hard transitioning (ie. going from a full-time job that you're already established in) to something fresh and new. As an aside, I purchased your control rig course when it first came out. To be honest, at first, it was a little above my head =-) Fast forward, I'm now getting more comfortable building and customizing control rigs as well as scripting blueprints in engine for procedural animations. I still have a long way before I can do what I'd like to be able to do but thanks for your help along the way.

Olá Kamila, que bom saber que vc é brasileira rsrs, eu estou avançando nos estudos de rigging e ja estou com uma otima base de biped e quero avancar para passaros, vi no seu site e aque no seu canal os shots do seagull e é maravilhoso, se voce puder me orientar a respeito de rig de passaros, pois nao acho cursos e nem tutoriais de rig para passaros, ou seja, qual a dica para conseguir montar um bom rig de passaros? quais tecnicas sao mais adequadas a esse tipo de rig? grato

Oi! Obrigada! :) Se eu fosse vc veria outros rigs de passaros e tentaria replicar as partes que acho interessante. O que eu acho mais legal de passaros eh como automatizar o fechamento e abertura das asas, ter um controle de 0-1 que faca isso, por exemplo.

Thanks for sharing a bit of your story, Kamila! Probably a lot has changed since you started as a tech artist, so I know this is a long shot, but do you have any tips on how to get started as a tech artists nowadays? What do you see as essential skills for this field? For context, I have 10 years of web development experience, and know I'm studying animation/visual development. I don't feel that I would like to go down to a technical path, but I wonder if maybe I should at least explore to see if this is something I'd enjoy doing as a career. I no longer enjoy writing coding, though... Thanks in advance. :)

Hey! I would say writing scripts is essential unfortunately. But not like a full Developer, just codes that will optimise your work. 😅 I would start by getting the Unreal templates of 3rd person character and trying to replace with another character (a metahuman for example). Then adding a cape and playing with cloth simulation. Just trying to get your hands on some of the tasks you would have in a job and see how you feel about it. I would also say that this area is always lacking professionals, so probably would be an easier way to start in the field.

Hello, my name is Julien, I have a scan 3d of a charactere, I use auto rig pro and blender 5 and I'm looking to find the workflow to send it to UE5. I have a lot issues like the rotation of bones when I import in UE5 and I want to use the Quinn charactere animation. Can you help me ? The scan 3d is really nice, it's me ;-) (Joke! but it's really me)
