You could mount your solar on the back of the trailer and then flip it up when you camp. This way you'll have your room for your kayak on the top. Another handy idea over the wheel well a removable table top. Space is a premium but that's the fun of it learning from other people when you're camping. hHappy Camping!
Get yourself a super good hitch lock and run a thick chain through the wheels or remove the wheels while in storage and set it on blocks... There has been a rash of stolen trailers and campers on facebook...
***** I agree with you, these things are too easy to take sadly. While in campsites I get a boot lock, lug nut locks, hitch lock, and coupler lock... sad that we have to go to such great lengths to prevent some dirt bag from stealing them.

I love the Runaway camper. We just sold our Runaway camper this year and bought a teardrop camper from Tiny Camper Company! Both made in Florida and both super affordable.
That's the appeal. Fill it up with gear and go. Unpack once you get there and you have a sleeping area, entertainment, camp kitchen and maybe solar power right there.
Rules For Rebels I wanted a truck camper but I cannot afford the $70 thousand dollar duly or heavy duty truck you have to have!!! If i could afford that I would just go get a class C,,,,
85 MPH! Most 13" trailer tires are speed rated much lower, rating is labeled on the tire, exceeding rating can cause tire to heat up and break down and fail. Just a safety tip from my own learning experience.
I would attach this to a van and just make this my bedroom. It would add so much room to a living van if you didn't have to force a matters in there! Seriously, I don't know if you still read comments on videos this old, but if you do thank you! I'm definetly going to be building one!

Have you thought about getting underneath and spraying it with the foam rubber undercoating? Might save it for rotting out/rusting. You can buy it in spray cans at most parts/hardware stores. Nice little rig, enjoy!
+beaconbus It's supposed to come with the bottom sprayed already, at least that's what I was told when I bought mine. I've been having it for about 2 years now and I use it often. I plan to spray the bottom in about another year, just to be on the safe side. BTW, I average 24 to 26 mpg towing it with my 2006 Chevy Colorado, 4 cylinder. I love this camper!
These things are really the "rave" lately. I like the trailer you have, AC is a must! Those cubby's are real cool. Lots of room for add ons. Your "chuck-wagon" kitchen will be a sweet addition, and relatively simple to build. Very nice bro...
Instead of a full side bed in there . I'd put 2 cots . That way you would have a little walk down the middle . And just add foam on top of the cots for more comfort . Sweet little rig .
nice camper. if you do end up using a "chuck box" in the rear 2 in. receiver your camper trailor,when pulling, may devolop a left to right "sway". This is caused by to much weight behind the trailers axel. Adjusting trailer to a slight "nose heavy" trailer will fix it. PLEASE REMEMBER, THE FASTER YOU DRIVE THE WORSE THE TRAILOR SWAY.
What you need is a fantastic fan on the roof and you can build a bed that flips up during the day and flips down at night to sleep. The only thing is I don't think it would actually work for two persons. Other then that I think it's pretty nifty ! You could also attach a shelf to your extra door that holds a camp stove and small counter and swing it open to cook outside. Just a thought !
great video and great lil camper. fyi...too much weight behind your trailer axel will cause sway. Sway is bad. do a search on videos of trailer sway. its scary...and in some cases, very hard to recover from resulting in an accident. one more thing if i may....13 inch tires are not designed for high speed and a blow out at high speed will scare the hell out you if not worse. ...keep your tires inflated to their max rating and maintain your bearings (keep packed with grease). I build campers as a hobby and have learned some of these things the hard way. God bless, be safe and camp on brother!
Security wise for your camper or car.....They have stuff you can place in and on campers to locate your stolen camper when they are moved so u can locate them and surprise the idiot stealing them. Beware Idiots......some people who have stole are still missing to this day after recovering stolen items.........
Thanks for the video! I pick mine up this afternoon. I was originally looking at teardrops but the Runaway campers just seems a lot stronger and better made. Mine has the A/C bc I live in Florida. I would also like to get a battery that I can run it on, bc I don't always camp places that have electrical outlets. I like your roof rack, I may look into that for mine as well, to hold the kayak.
Pretty awesome man! You could maybe get one of those mini carport canopy things to set up with it. I was also thinking a small piece of indoor outdoor carpet for the front half by the doors might be good also. So you can just pull it out and shake the majority of the dirt off when needed.
It would be good for road trips too, so you can bypass those high priced motel rooms, I don't think there is any such thing as a cheap motel room anymore. Maybe $100 a night is about the cheapest,I don't call that cheap. It is sort of cool.
I took mine on a trip from New Orleans to Calif several days ago. The only problem I had, the vinyl top flew off in the Mohave Desert during my return trip home. I was low on fuel when I noticed it was gone, so I didn't bother to turn around to look for it, plus I was on a narrow road. Turning around would have been a problem. I got another vinyl cover from Home Depot when I got back home. So, on long hauls, might want to examine it every so often. I don't think they used a sufficient amount of glue on mine, judging from the trail of glue that was on the plywood. Enjoy!
If you want a real tear drop trailer look at Camp Inn trailers . They were in the forefront of the teardrop renaissance. Often immitated. But as the old adage goes,, " you get what you pay for"
The wife and I are thinking about getting the 6x8. I am 74 and need that extra room to move the old bones. I have been told that a Toyota Rav 4 can pull it. The Rav 4 is rated up to 1500lbs. By the time the vehicle is loaded with the necessities I have some doubts. It is our only vehicle and I don't want to tear it up. Any info will help.
Looks great, but it’s missing a kitchenette. You’d think they’d include that in the back outside or inside. I’ve seen other campers that size n smaller that include more of the practical things.
Debri, tar and other anonymous mucky stuff gets on the trailer at times. squirt the trailer down with water and then squirt the trailer down with Simple Green which is sold at Home Depot for maybe $8. After roughly 10 min of saturation start washing with a soft cloth and water. I squirt my car down with the Simple Green and water especially the lower part and then take it to the car wash. The tar comes off so easily.

I was wonder what the weight capacity for that receiver on the back is? Had a thought if it would hold one of those receiver racks that could carry a 5000 watt generator, gas and a cooler.
Was thinking the back due to tongue weight. Our Buick lacrosse really sags in the back end when we hook our little 16ft aluminum boat on it. The boat motor and trailer is right around our max tow. So I thought on the back would help with that problem. Our cars towing capacity is only rated at 1000 lbs.
Being at max capacity with your vehicle is the first problem. Weight Distribution Bars is the solution for trucks pulling travel trailers. They fix the droopy middle thing you're talking about.
I know the vehicle could actual tow more. The only problem is the steering gets light. Other then steering the car don't have any problems getting it moving or stopping. I have added a heavy duty trans cooler and oil cooler. Didn't want heat being a problem. I will have to go to my trailer guys and see what we can do about getting a weight distribution hitch for the setup.
You might want to spend more time balancing the music, especially when you are not talking, which is proportionately up too loud & becomes very irritating.
A deep cell battery powering an AC? How long does that blow out cold air before it's out of juice? If it's a while, what is the strength of the battery?
