A Quick Trip To Oahu's Westside 

Been living at the "Towers" since 2011. Moved here from the Pacific Northwest to escape the rain. You are exactly right about Makaha Valley Towers being more emotional investment than financial. Don't get me wrong, the combination of mountain and ocean views are probably unmatched anywhere on the islands, especially when combined with a purchase price of between $160,000 - $300,000, again probably unmatched anywhere else on the islands. The downsides? An enormous HOA monthly fee of $1,000 $1,300 - steep for part-time/seasonal owners, but not so bad for us few full timers, as fee is ALL inclusive (electric, water, sewer, garbage, cable, central A/C, maintenance, etc). Again, not for folks seeking a return on investment, but entirely for those seeking an emotional foundation.

Funny story, was on Oahu a couple months ago, hiking Kaena point from the west side. We found a lost parrot on the hike, my wife found who it belonged to on facebook. We hiked back from Kaena point with a parrot on our shoulders and returned it to the owner in Makaha. Have to say it was our first time hiking with a parrot and it felt good to return it to the owner.

The view is what grabbed us....bought our 18th floor condo site unseen and never regretted it. Hubby is local boy from Manoa. We live in SW Florida and our heart is always pulling us back to Makaha. The waterfalls are mind-blowing in the winter. Thank you for this video.

My wife and I have a unit here at Makaha Towers and this place is truly magical. It never gets old.
