Love this! Great thoughts! Two things. First off, Day One's cinematography is soooo good. Definitely not the greatest film ever but every shot looks so good. Second, Thanks Sean for re-lighting my appreciation for part 2. Last time I watched it I was kinda disappointed but your thoughts on the direction it took brought me back haha

01. A Quiet Place (2018) - One of the best horror movie ever. Simple concept but executed really well. The giving birth sequence is still one of the best sequence in a horror film and the use of sound in this movie is fantastic 02. A Quiet Place Part II (2021) - A fantastic sequel that expand the world and giving satisfying arcs to every characters especially the sister and Cillian Murphy. The editing in the third act is phenomenal and the ending is so satisfying 03. A Quiet Place: Day One (2024) - A solid prequel that shows us the chaos of the first day of the invasion while telling an emotional story about two characters finding joy in the chaos

3. Day One - B 7.5 2. Part 1 - A 9.0 1. Part 2 - A 9.5 Edit: I’m seeing a good amount of people not crazy about part 2. That’s interesting, I see it as a movie that took what worked in part one and did things a little bit better with bigger things going on without sacrificing the simplistic feel of part 1.

Honestly I disliked part 2 because it was so inconsistent. In the first movie if they even breathe too loud the death angels would hear them and kill them. Then in part 2 cillian murphy's character TALKS to the deaf girl while signing when there were death angels nearby. Like wtf. The second on is more like just A place.

@@Gabaraguy well it was never established in the first film that if u breathe too loud then the Death Angels will hear u(it depends how close they are), they obviously weren’t taking risks though, for example, Emmet wears shoes and walk all around, the Abbot family doesn’t wear shoes, Emmet jsut takes more of the risks, the Abbot family doesn’t, it’s a new touch and good details added to the franchise imo

I haven't seen a Quiet Place: Day One yet but I'm excited to see it next week and while i doubt it will be the best one, I'm confident it will be great. As for A Quiet Place Part 1 & 2 i think they're both equally amazing movies. I honestly can't pick between them. The first one is a fantastic introduction to this world and concept and part 2 is a very worthy and logical sequel to what was established and set up in the first one. John Krasinski did a phenomenal job with these films. I can't wait his the third and final installment that Krasinski is returning to write and direct

3: a quiet place day one: a great horror prequel that had great characters and performances that is very tense 2: quiet place part 2: a great sequel thats bigger and more elaborate than the original but this was one of my worst theater experiences ever 1: a quiet place: a great original concept with great characters and manages to tell a tense story without saying much of anything at all

All of these films are great! A Quiet Place has never missed! However, something has to be at the bottom! 1. A Quiet Place - One of my favorite movies of all time! I’ve never sat through a movie where the audience was COMPLETELY quiet for the entire movie! 2. Day One - A great way to do a prequel, and you can start watching the franchise with this film. I also very appreciate the film hitting different emotional beats compared to the first two films. 3. Part II - Does a great job at continuing the story after coming off of the first film. I just think there were a couple of things that the characters did in the film that didn’t make sense to me, particularly with Marcus.

I wasn’t a huge fan of day one. Why should I care about this woman obsessively trying to get pizza to eat when she is terminally ill, and a whole city is in danger. I didn’t care about her, since she was a ticking time bomb that didn’t care much for living anyways. Add in a cat that doesn’t act at all like a cat does for another minor annoyance

Well, pizza 🍕is just so damn delicious, so it made sense that she wanted it so badly! Also, she can't just stay in one place forever because eventually she would run out of food to eat and then she would have to venture out into the city in order to get something to eat. So again, it just makes sense that she wanted to go after the yummy pizza 🍕because she needs food to eat in order to survive & stay alive. Also, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by a cat that doesn't act at all like a cat does. I mean, all cats are different from one another. All cats don't act 100% the same. 😺🐈

I personally think the first two are on par together so it is hard to rank between those two movies. But it makes sense to put the original at number one for being the movie to break the new ground for the genre, and a kick-off to the franchise.
