The rain at the beginning was so cleansing and I love this vlog style! I'm glad you didn't discard the footage. Ah, how disappointing about Turning Point. I was excited by the concept of the book when you first introduced it. I also love reading for extended periods of time!! ✨️ I think I will aim for that more often. 😊📚💕
Thank you Kristen! Vlog style videos are my favourite to watch, too :) Shame about Turning Pointe, but nice to be reminded how lovely it is to do an extended read ☺️📚
Thank you, Rae. Today I went through something nobody ever wants to. I had to put our beloved dog down. My entire reading list for this autumn has now changed. I was going to read the last Harry Potter, but I've decided that is too dark for my sadness right now. I'm going to be reading books that feel like a hug, perhaps Anne of Green Gables (can't stand the rest of that series, but the first one will always be one of my favourites) or possibly Emily of Deep Valley or The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland on a Ship of Her Own Making. Just cozy books probably for the rest of this year as I mourn my wonderful dog.
Thank you Amy! They’re from Ana Luisa, but I definitely chose them because they have that beautiful Delft style to them! The Salt Path was a really good read :)
While you make a good point(pardon the pun)on the lack of depth in the exploration of issues, maybe the author wasn't interested in tackling them head on.I rather feel ballet is an art form that revels in escapism and while I know there are choreographers and dancers who challenge themselves and their audience, there has to be this element of "let's put on a show" ticking away constantly in the background. In other words we mustn't frighten away whatever audience we have.🩰✨
I agree ballet is largely an art of escapism, but the author does state she’s setting out to tackle the issues in the institution. I felt she didn’t really fulfil the brief she laid out for herself, sadly.
