The built-in energy-absorbing devices on the Fallprotec's overhead lifeline were mechanically activated by the kinetic energy that was generated during Yuri’s fall, to the extent that the final impact force that arrived at Yuri’s lanyard was so dissipated that it was not even enough to activate his lanyard energy absorber. After the fall, a fall arrest harness inspection must be done.
