Rick Eichhorn shares his remarkable spiritual experience from a spontaneous out-of-body experience he had when he was 22 years old.
In a personal search of discovery, Rick tries to piece together how his experience was even possible through our current understanding of reality.

Yes, yes and yes!!!! I completely get it. There are lots of us out here that love to talk about this stuff. I, too, had an NDE while near death with Sepsis. For me, God was pure light, the quintessential source of Love Itself. It showed me I came from Love, swam in it every day of my life and would return to it when it was my time and had accomplished my purpose on Earth. I didn't have to earn or deserve Love... that would set me outside of it. It is our birthright. I went back and forth into the arms of this God Light for 6 hours. Finally told it wasn't my time and settled back in my very sick body where I recovered.

Hi Susan, this is Rick! I estimate the experience I had lasted at most two or three minutes. Your six hour NDE must have taken you deep into the Greyson NDE Scale! While I know not to hasten my transition, I am looking forward to it!

@@hydrorix1 I never heard of the Grayson Scale of NDE. I was back and forth between my body and hospital bed and the arms of Love. I haven't a clue what was going on at any point around me the entire 6 hrs until I was fully back and my Dr came into my room.

@@toiletduck9257 I was cradled in the arms of God for most of that time. God was All Light. It took on the approximate, amorphous shape of a human without distinct features. I could make out it's parts and communication was wordless. I knew what I was hearing. I realize that God was the source of all that is which is Love sent out into the world and every form of existence and realms there are. I traveled back and forth between God and hospital room. I was told there was nothing I had to do or be to earn or deserve Love. It was my birthright, all of ours, and when it was my time, I would come home to it. We are each and all pieces of God from which we can never in the course of eternity be separated. God learns about everything through It's Creation.

Rick, I also wish I could speak to someone who could help me make sense of my experience. After searching for understanding for the past 5 years, I still don’t have a definite explanation, other than what I sense it to be. Very shortly, on my usual morning walk in 2016, as I glanced at a tree on my right, I instantly found myself to be where the tree was, and I knew that I was the tree, and as my focus moved from the soil around me to the grass, the pebbles and everything else I focussed on, I was aware that I was ALL of that - I was in perfect peace and harmony and it seemed that this is the way things always have been - there was no feeling of surprise - just an overwhelming pesence of love so all encompassing that I knew I was in God. A woman crossed the road in the distance and it seemed as if I zoomed into her and knew her state of being and comforted her as she was very sad and hopeless. As she disappeared behind the building, I was back in my body, walking. This is the short version, the experience continued days later at seperate intervals. Since then I’m consumed with wanting to return into the experience. I also sense that I was allowed that experience, it cannot be forced by sheer act of will. (Believe me, I tried!). I instinctively know that gratitude , unconditional love and forgiveness play a major role in entering that amazing ‘place’/‘realm’. There is so much we don’t know.

Something similar happened to me in 1971. It was as though some vast power out of the cosmos began to flow through me. My friend was with me. He stood with his mouth agape. I asked, "Johnny, are you aware of what's happening?" He said 'Yes. But I think its directed at you!" My girlfriend was not there at the time. But next day Johnny and I told her about what had happened. We eventually went separate ways, but I married my girlfriend. Thirty years later, the three of us were together when my wife mentioned that night. Without hesitation, Johnny sat bolt upright in his wheel chair and exclaimed, "I remember that!" That event was so powerful my friend remembered it instantly after three decades. We know that feeling of being watched. But what if God turned His gaze at us? That's the only way I can describe the experience.

@@pluutoop Johnny and I didn't understand either, Buby. I've been trying to understand since 1971. I don't think my friend "saw" with his eyes. He was just aware. It was like a burning bush moment for both of us. Or maybe what Peter, James, and John "felt" at Jesus' Transfiguration. I only know that I was in a state of extreme doubt at that moment. I guess it was what I needed to live life.

I could talk to someone like this man for a long time. I know how he feels there's so much to say and so much profound thinking that goes into understanding this that you can't do it in a day you can't do it in a year you can't do it in a decade. You almost have to form a group of people to explore this and seek wisdom through the knowledge of understanding

I had a very different experience.....it was black.....I fell into what felt like hell....or a plain of existence... visual sense of not having your body but being you. The light came and lifted me out of that abyss before I was sucked in... at the bottom of that abyss was millions of people

The transition of our consciousness from human back to spirit is not always a straight path. Much depends on a person's belief system because our beliefs create the reality in which we participate. The emotional framework one carries through the dying process i.e. "I'm a bad person. I'm unworthy. I'm going to hell." can be so overwhelming that the migration of the soul from human to spirit, beckoned by the light, can be detoured by that self-fulfilling prophecy to a Purgatory type of realm. Those souls who put themselves in that place have to go through the process of awakening to how they got there and the realization of their own power of love, and self-forgiveness, to change it will release them from their self-imposed hell. The weird thing is that, like with ghosts who don't want to leave or are attached to some idea of remaining on the earth plane, moving into the light is a choice that can be compromised by the strength of our beliefs. You were given a glimpse into the astral realm. The book, Multidimensional Man, by Jurgen Ziewe, is a fascinating look into many realms of consciousness-created realities. Glad you were rescued!

@@Jesussavedme You do not yet understand how much you are loved. Your mortal choices here on Earth are an opportunity for your soul to grow, even those you deem bad choices. Some of us cannot know the light without knowing the dark. If those bad choices are in the past and you have determined to align your actions with love, then you have made a lot of soul-level growth. The angels sing your name! Keep seeking the light, keep asking for guidance from God and the miracle that is you will be continued to be revealed. Believe you will be embraced with only love upon your death for it is simply a transition from one state of being to another. Please read a short, fascinating book called The Afterlife of Billy Fingers by Annie Kagan, a book about her criminal brother. One would think he would "go to Hell" but you will be surprised about his perspective on his experience from the afterlife. Be encouraged. Our limiting beliefs do us no favors.

@@Jesussavedme pick up a Bible and read 1st John, chapter 1. You will find the solution to your problem. God loves you more then you can fathom. His son Jesus is the atonement for your past mistakes. I f you confess them and are truly repentant , and it sounds like you are, then He will forgive you. You will be washed clean. Ask Him into your heart, He will never leave or forsake you.

I have come to the same conclusion. The consciousness singularity. Where we exist always, and the pieces go out like frequency strata into lower dimensions. Higher dimensions without time, mean all time exists at once. However this intends a kind of intrinsic inevitable. A fate of all light. To meet in a higher dimension in which we are part of the whole.

@@hydrorix1 Hi Rick! Brilliantly put, truth is indeed love. As a philosopher myself, you have my deepest respect. If I may humbly give my opinion, having arrived the same conclusion that truth is love, I feel the most valuable endeavor is learning how to love more effectively. You see, if we get too caught up dissecting the inner workings of the universe and neglect our true purpose for being here, which is indiscriminate compassion, we can end up spending this iteration searching for answers that we already know because the totality of truth will be revealed again, and again, and again between incarnations. In my opinion, it’s about deciphering the instructions to the puzzle, then putting it together without getting too caught up in the fine print before running out of time. Truth is love, but more importantly, truth is love in motion.

I awoke from a dream, after taking a "drug" (having fun with a friend, partying etc that day -- being young and exploring), and when I awoke from my sleep in remembrance of that dream; it was clear to me that I was still dreaming. If that doesn't sink in, don't ask me what will. In other words, I knew that I didn't sleep at all and that if I closed my eyes, whether I choose to go back to sleep or not, all of me; my world; my life is consciousness. Including my body. Not something physical. That if I choose to move my frequency (with a stronger hit on the drug, I'm assuming) I could vibrate (I don't know of any other word to explain this pulsating sensation), and I could move into another physical existence. Yeah. I was terrified. Terrified is a word. So, I was so scared that I said out loud, "I'm not ready for this". Panicky and yet excited -- I knew that anything that I desired at that moment could be achieved. I'm talking, if I visualized I would slowly move into another physical world. Gasping for air, I held onto my original existence and forced myself to focus as to "stay" on earth. I knew the drug was the open door to more, but my conscious decision at that moment (I kid you not) is what suddenly reverted the effects, and simply not being ready for this experience is what created the next step, which was the effects that immediately wore off. Which told me that when I awoke, I was not under the influence of any drug -- that this was spiritual. The drug simply got me in a high enough state for me to open that door as an opportunity to explore. Yeah. How's that for conscious play? I would bet few people can even relate, if not ever walked this path after waking from sleep. Ha-ha.

Everything about this reminds me of watching the rapture of God's people from Earth as it would look from space . The streams of light coming from the earth and the millions of faces and hands. When God created the heavens and the Earth He said, "It is good"... Maybe it's just that simple.

Aaron Aames is there a possibility that this “vision” you had may be misinterpreted or even a creation of the subconscious mind? I’ve had a few visions in my life that I had and still have a hard time interpreting but I’m skeptical that it was any type of OBE because I was obviously conscious and standing when 2 of the 4 have happened, just would like to hear a bit more from you, thanks. Oh and I’ve been into physics for some time too so don’t take my response to Ryan as animosity

@@dorgonreborn4108 As a seeker of truth and knowledge, it is encumbent upon me to acknowledge your objections may be correct (like the scene at the end of "Contact" when Ellie is confronted with similar objections and has to admit she might have imagined her experience). However, after 43 years of considering the various possibilities, I have made the conscious choice to present the interpretation in this video, as it think it is most likely correct. Could I be wrong? Of course!

I had an experience, totally unexpected, it happened walking from my bathroom to my bedroom, I felt a light inside of my chest, and next I was in space, in retrospect I realized I was my conscious self, I can’t say how long I was there, then returned to my body. This happened 2 years ago and I keep wondering and asking myself about this, why, what am I to do with this experience

I totally agree with this assessment of reality. We are all partitions of universal consciousness- macrocosm within the microcosm and vice versa ad inifinitum. The joke is on us! We all fear death but the reality is there is no death just consciousness and when we die the temporary partitioning of consciousness (aka the veil that gives rise to the perception of the self/ego) gets lifted and we go back to the whole which is our true nature It’s so wonderful when you realise this 😍🙏

Yes, we are consciousness!! We are light consciousness. Years ago, I had an experience where i was shown lights dispersing from a source of light, and realized that these are souls. Souls are light consciousness! We are a particle of the light. In other words, God's light is in all of us. Where I was, the love that was there is a trillion times a trillion times a trillion stronger than what's here.

Yep, makes perfect sense to me. I have the same views on most of the topics talked about. I had multiple non-dual experiences myself, developed an own model without even knowing these concepts. I've partly put it in other words, but the idea of consciousness being fundamental and the fractal structure of the multiverse are basically the same. Since then I've learned that many others came to the same conclusions (with slightly different formulations), independent from each other. Looking at that, we can't be so wrong, can we? I'd also like to track this down. There's a plethora of questions coming up. Which testable hypotheses can we formulate using the model? Is there a theoretical way to prove it from our viewpoint anyhow? Furthermore, why is physical reality so stable? Why doesn't it just dissolve, why is is so robust against mental processes? How do we as individuals come about, under which conditions do individual consciousnesses split from the greater whole, or re-fuse with it?

I absolutely believe in almost all of what you have said and how you can actually use mathematics to see this as being truth. Consciousness is the glue that holds all that we see and experience together. Thank you for sharing this.

I had a near death experience which triggered a similar experience later in life. I wrote a book about it and the Downloads I received and still are receiving. Which I'm going to define as (and I'm going to use a phrase that someone else applied to "success" oddly enough.) Enlightenment is "not all you know plus all you think you need to know. It's all you know plus all you don't know that you do not yet know." It's that final missing piece, that most don't even realize is missing. ACIM has been helpful for me to understand what you are talking about. Everything I see and experience is a projection of mind. I have become more consciously aware of how limited my senses are and that although they do offer a certain level of perception they do not report reality. If I can hear it, see it, touch it or smell it...it is a highly limited perception intended to report a very infinitesimal band of info. Eyes are for not seeing, ears are for not hearing and the body is more like a reducing valve. Purpose is the answer.

Hi Katie, Rick here! Yes, it's an inevitability. Not say that materialism hasn't had its benefits, but it can't explain the most pervasive and personal experience we all have. Here's a quote by Max Planck, a founder of Quantum Physics: "Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are a part of the mystery that we are trying to solve." Many of Quantum Physics' founders knew its implications regarding "reality." Planck also had this to say: “I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness.”

I think you are on the right track, but what you need to do is simplify . We tend to get tied up in dogma and science. It's so much simpler than that- though I do understand that on many levels, they are part of the equation... As for materialism. It's right where it needs to be. The most important thing we can do while here is to participate, because within our earthly experience lies growth. The problem is we can get lost in participating, therefore forgetting who we are and why we are here. We can also get lost in 'seeking' which separates us from the human experience. Balance of perception and awareness are the keys to understanding. We, as beings, are on our own journey , but in this current perception we all exist on the same playing field. We are separate but the same. We are also at different levels of understanding and consciousness, which is why life is so interesting. We have to be patient with others who are all walking their own path, and be careful in not creating an enlightened hierarchy, because individuals are right where they are supposed to be on their personal scale of understanding. It's also important to know that we are all our own higher power, guided by the Creator. :)

It would make it easier for those who haven't maybe spent as much time contemplating this stuff to wrap their heads around it! I've had some ideas of how to present it differently, such as describing Primary Consciousness as a spherical fuzzball, with Secondary Consciousness being another fuzzball within it. It seems like an easy way to visualize it, and that could be key to more people understanding what I'm hoping to convey! Like you, I have probably too much time on my hands, and you know what they say about idle hands! Rick 👍

I have studied the afterlife since my 23 young daughter transitioned tragically in September 2017 which of course left me heartbroken 💔 but throughout my studies I have learned and come to the understanding that we are here on earth bc we were send on a “mission” that we have to complete , we are all souls in a body that we were given. Once our mission is complete our souls are then send back to await our next mission. To have come to this conclusion gave me a whole new understanding of life and most of all appreciation of why we are here in the first place . Does anyone agree ? I don't know about consciousness, but I think about belief. I say it this way: There is only one true belief. This one true belief is that you will not find any other belief that is completely true. It almost sounds like this isn't saying anything but this is the only belief that you can't find a flaw in. Any other belief, no matter how eloquent, you will be able to find some flaw in it. You have to work with this idea. It guides my life

Part 1. During August of 1973, I was pronounced DEAD On Arrival, at a Medical centre, and at least half an hour passed by, and then my heart started to beat again, without medical assistance... During the time I was reported to be dead, I, that is "LIFE My Real Self", felt very much alive, but not in this universe, nor did I have a human body or any other type of body. I felt NO Condemnation or judgement, but only a depth of LOVE far beyond human understanding... I saw No relatives, family or friends, and no Form, except for the Presence of pure white LIGHT.

I was so impressed listening to you that l have no clue on most of what you were saying. I listen to NDE stories every night. Jeff Mara especially. He has a wide variety of people that had NDEs. Some are the usual and some are really out there like you. I mean that as exceptional and really in depth. I saw in your comment section that you have already contacted Jeff. When you get on his show you will blow him away like you did me. That's one podcast l don't want to miss. Sorry to drag this out. The more I read about, and listen to NDEs, the more they make sense to me. There’s one part I really struggle with understanding, though. How do psychopaths (people who get pleasure out of hurting others) fit into all this? If everything is about love in the end, what about those types of people? What’s their purpose? Are they about love somehow too? And are we really supposed to love them, the same as we love everyone else, even though they only do us harm, and enjoy it? That’s the one puzzle piece I can’t make fit...

I have struggled with that question myself. The bible tells about fallen angels, nephillum and demons. It says, put on the armour of God to protect ourselves. At the same time we are supposed to love and forgive our enemies. I think it's possible that even though there is only one creator, dualism exists in our realm. If you think of the yin yang symbol as human or earthly reality but then that yin yang symbol is drawn on a piece of paper with space all around it, that is the space of the creator, not the created. Could it be that the dark or evil that exists here points us in the direction of love? I don't think I can love evil but it was evil that led me to a spiritual path and try to become the best version of myself.

After listening to many nde accounts, experiencers all say the same, they were given a message on the other realm that everything is happening for a reason. There is a divine plan and it's working perfectly. When we go to the other realm we will understand its purpose, why we suffer, why we hurt each other. Rick: I’ve only listened to 12 minutes so far of this recording, but your ideas make sense to me. In fact, many of them have occurred to me, or God imparted them to me, such as each human being is (made in the image and likeness of God) a shard of God, as a small piece of a Mandelbrot set. As above, so below. We are each the universe in miniature. It’s only the limitations of our minds (and maybe just our beliefs) that keep us small in 3D consciousness. God told me once that as a chip of God, He made me to mix it up with the other chips in the soup (yes, God is not above mixing metaphors to make a point to me), and He gets a big kick out of the soup!

Overthinking; experience which is beyond the comprehension of the human mind, is not meant to be ‘understood’ by it. Just ‘experience’ .. it’s ok. There’s no necessity to keep attempting to ‘explain’ or ‘rationalise’ that which is literally beyond the ‘rational’ (in this Earth experience) or the ‘quantifiable’. Gift is in the sharing of the ‘event’ 🙏

Tom Campbell is amazing and has done much to bring people into spirituality. I think words are important and his use of the word "Simulation" is somewhat inaccurate, just as the word "illusion" in translating the Vedas would have been better translated as "perception." However, I do not mean to criticize him at all. He has been a positive influence on the lives of millions, and I congratulate him!
