The embroidered fabric is an antique sandwich wrap Emily era 1920's. It has an oriental Tori gate with trees that then has a Zen garden scene. So it is likely to remind the person eating their lunch/meal to relax as though you are at an Asian park entrance . where you enter through the gate and find solitude and peace at the Zen garden. I found some while living in Japan during the mid 1970's. A very rare find, I am so happy you bought them. They sell anywhere from $7.50 to $20 each.

Without the blue eyes, the head would be too Michael Myers from "Halloween." WITH the blue eyes, however, it's just a goofy head. I know Jesse will find some way to use it in a fun manner. He seems silly like that (in a good way).

That little wood candle holder was made by artist Dixie Wajdic. She is from Lakeside Montana by Flathead Lake and these pieces are made from old cedar fence posts. She is very prolific and I would not be surprised if that number reflects it being the 1806th piece she has made.

When I was 12 years old, I traveled from CA to Idaho with my parents and Aunt/Uncle. We visited a great- aunt there. She showed me how to make little rocking chair with a pin cushion seat out of a soda can. She rolled strips of the can to make quite a fancy looking chair. That was in 1967. Blessings, Janell

I favor the idea of napkins for an afternoon tea, as there were so many of them. I think the embroidery represents a garden structure, probably a tea house. A roofed structure with open air sides that is useful but also provides an eye catching point of interest to the landscape. Always more fun with Jesse around! This is the best series!

Jesse often verbalizes what I am thinking at the same moment. I was thinking “grenade” lamp when he mentioned it. In a previous video he commented he didn’t care for clear vases, because he didn’t like to see the stems; I agree! His comments on bronzed baby shoes were also right in line with my opinion. Kindred spirits!

We also, had a wooden salad bowl with 6 matching bowls. These were brought out for special occasions. I love wooden bowls!!

Love the “napkins”, look like handkerchiefs to me. The thin fabric and the needlepoint.

We had a similar vacuum like the data vacuum, when I was a little girl, very 60’s! Loved the banter from you two, reminds me of my hubby and myself, especially when Jesse found the creepy head! Thoroughly enjoyed your vlog and the finds you found!

You should just have random Js all over your house. Jesse would feel so loved!

Jim Beam bottles are so collectible and expensive. My aunt and uncle collected them for 45 years.

@deboramccallum3987 They are. My aunt and uncle have a small apartment above their detached garage that houses the entire collection. The apartment is packed full with a hefty alarm system. haha

I believe the napkins were luncheon napkins and were popular in the 1930s and early 1940. Sometimes there was a matching tablecloth. Ladies would get together around lunchtime, have sandwiches and tea at cardtables, then spend the afternoon playing Bridge or cardgames.

I am loving this series! I love when Jesse comes with you, also. I think the “napkins” are handkerchiefs. They look like the kind my mother and grandmother made before tissues were prevalent (or even invented, lol).

The small thin napkins are when you are serving tea and cookies, small sandwiches, when playing afternoon cards ( bridge)

You have to do a vignette with the head, absolutely, please! Love it!
