Another good book is "After the Way Called Heresy" by Thomas Weiser. He walks you through every century to prove that there were Oneness believers and people that still preached Acts 2:38 the way we do today. Aside from Sabellius and Servetus, he writes about Praxeas, Eleutherus, Victor, Zephyrinus, Calistus, Commodian, Noetus, Epigonus, Marcellus, Photinus, Migetius, the Bogomis, Peter Abelard, Alamaric of Bena, Sebastian Franck, Stephen Dolet, Thomas Emlyn, and so many more believers through the centuries. Many of them we only know about because their "heresies" were recorded by the Catholic church as justification for burning them at the stake.
I often see the term modalist/modalism thrown around in comments toward Oneness people, always in a derogatory manner. Could you discuss what this means and if we fall under that umbrella.
I have yet to find "conversations" in the Godhead. A conversation has to be between two or more people, and no where in scripture is there a response from another person/being. Examples; Jesus praying in the garden with no voice coming back, but an angel appears to strengthen him. God saying "Let us make man in our image", yet no other being/person saying "yes, lets do it." Jesus' baptism, a voice from heaven, yet Jesus never responded with "Thank you Father" or any such statement. Psalm 110 shows no conversation, neither does any other scripture. A second person/being must respond to officially make it a conversation, otherwise it is one being talking alone. Oneness is the absolute truth according to the scripture, and must be received as a revelation from the eternal self revealing Spirit of God Almighty.
To the Glory of God there are such conversations in the Scriptures. The Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God quoted (Psalm 110) such a one in Matthew 22:41-46" While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions." Similiarly the apostle Peter quotes this passage in Acts 2:34-35.
@@davidquilici950 To make it a conversation there had to of been another person/being respond back to the LORD. There wasn’t a response. Not a conversation. Yet, a prophecy fulfilled when the man Christ Jesus sat at the right hand of power to govern the universe as the Lord our God incarnate. The Word that is God who became flesh. The Almighty.

Any comment on Genesis 1:26-27 ("And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." kJV in case you were wondering) Wherein the Hebrew root word used *Elohim* has a plural application particularly in this passage. That, combined with 1 John 7-8 suggest an overarching Trinity (because i doubt God made man in the image of himself and the image of angels) and how Jesus always acknowledges the father in his ministry (John14:28) and yet afforms the oneness (John 10:30) and how the Holy Ghost is another person that God will send (John 14:26) really has a hard time (in what I read from the scriptures) fitting into a oneness theology over an overarching theme of a Holy Trinity proclaimed to be God throughout Bible History.
The Hebrew word for "life" is "chayyim," a plural word. Hebrew sometimes uses plurals to denote the sum total of things that make up one thing or concept. But, having said that, the "us" in Genesis 1:26 refers elsewhere to the heavenly host, the divine council. Jesus was a human person born of Mary who has the divine nature. He is distinct from the eternal divine being known as God the Father. But Jesus is the incarnation of the Father, and the Father is the divine being who was working in and through him. The Holy Ghost is the inward being of the Father (1 Corinthians 2:11), and the fact that there is only one eternal Spirit means there is in fact only one divine Person. The Spirit is the very being and essence of the Father (John 4:23-24). In Greek, the pronoun "he" is used for the Comforter as that is a masculine word, but other Scriptures use the pronoun "it" for the neutral word "Spirit." What John 14 is saying is that we receive God's Spirit by believing in Christ; the Spirit is sent through Jesus. We can't receive the Holy Ghost apart from faith in Jesus. Jesus told them in John 16 that he was speaking these things in proverbs, or dark sayings.
2Thessalonians 2:3 declares there will be a falling away first. The falling away will be false doctrine. It can’t stand against the darkness. It has no Holy Ghost Spirit of Truth. False doctrine has the spirit of error. Ephesians 2:2 reveals the father of all lies: “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience”

His godhead is one person, though despite others insisting 3 persons. Even monarchs and others in the position of authority held multiple offices, yet they were 1 individual person

PRINCIPLE: Truth rules over our mind and aspirations. APPLICATION: Truth in the Bible is that which not only corresponds to facts but also integrates truth into one’s life. Truth can rule over our minds and lives. Truth operates in the realm of principle. I’ve read Out of the Flames and I think the contents of the book were not presented objectively. Yes, Servetus was burned to death. Yes, Calvin wanted him dead along with the Catholics for heresy. But let’s not forget that heresy was punishable by death in Switzerland during that time and Calvin, actually petitioned the Council of Geneva for a more merciful death by sword. Furthermore, it’s important to note that Servetus’ theology was quite erroneous. For example, he asserted that Jesus was not, in fact, God because his human nature prevents him from being so, denied the virgin birth, draws inspiration for his theological beliefs from the Quran, and more. So Servetus essentially denies the divinity of Christ and was influenced by humanist thought of the time and earlier philosophers. Read Servetus’ book, Christianismi Restitutio which outlines his opposition and rejection of the Trinity. I am by no means attempting to justify Servetus’ death or Calvin’s intent. However, it is important that we consider the facts of that time period. Read Out of the Flames for yourself and study Servetus’ theology as well as Calvin’s. Check out Calvin’s Institutes as well.
Agreed. Servetus' views are not in complete alignment with modern Oneness theology. Both Servetus and Calvin were influenced by earlier writers and philosophies. Servetus by Rabbinic and Islamic thought left over from Moorish Spain and Calvin using Gnostic remnants to combat Papal condemnation. We would be interested to know more about his denial of the virgin birth. Do you have a citation? Among His last recorded words were the denial of "God the Son" and adherence to "the Son of God" which incensed Calvin. The larger point is that Calving is unsuitable as a foundational source. Many conflate his Trinitarian views with Apostolic authority. Facts of the time period notwithstanding, no apostle engaged in the methods of their time period. They did not persecute, kill, destroy material, etc. That is why they are suitable as church fathers, Calvin is not. He is a product of his time.

I have always Said that why do trinitarians deny Jesus and try to belittle the Holy Name of Jesus The Only True God and then they Turn Around as Soon as they Need Him and Use his Name to Pray for the Sick or whatever Else they Need from Jesus .
