Have owned & loved the BAM for a while. Stoked that it it's still my favorite vs the CB. Love the Hall on the Golden though!

hey @pitch patch really cool demo, nice samples and sounds, it is a great exampe of how to do a great comparison. I am curious to hear your personal opinion, which one of these would you pick and why? For me the UAD was the least exciting in compaison, it lacked something. The OTO held up pretty great and offers a great feature set, I am actually suprised how well it has done.

hey tamas. i sold my bam to get a cxm. to me they all sound really good. but the cxm is just so much fun to use and invites to experiment. hope this helps!

I commend you for picking the units you've picked, but regarding the UAFX Golden, no offense, but you didn't even scratch the surface of that one. IMO, when it comes to modeling the 3 historic reverbs that it covers, it's head and shoulders better than any other pedal with no exceptions. It takes some learning to get the best out of it. Just twiddling the knobs and switches randomly is a waste of time and not even close to being a good example of it's brilliance.

Finally!!! I’m been trying to find shootout for these three specific unit, I have the 1978 & Golden, trying to get the bam too. How’s the BAM stand out comparing to the others?

soundwise i think bam is a great reverb too. you just have to get along with the ui.

if I may ask... I'm a guitar player. I currently own the Golden and I really love it. Its my 1st reverb pedal I actually enjoy. But I'm always wondering if I'm missing something with the 1978. How would you compare them both in a guitar setup? thanks bro

Thanks for watching! To me, the 1978 is more hands-on and playable. You can sculpt the reverb and explore different spaces for days. In the end, both are great sounding reverbs for guitar. But if you like sound design and experimentation 1978 is the way to go. I hope this helps!

@@GhostFace8 I think all of these boxes sound great. To me, the difference is more about different algorithms, UI's, and features than sound quality. The 1978 would probably be overkill for a set-and-forget reverb.

I have the big sky. Night sky. And the golden. And I will say there is something about the cxm that I love and I do want it. $800 tho. The golden sounds pretty damn good. Totally comparable to the cxm. Specially when you turn up the decay and treble decay on the 224 plate and hall. Little modulation and your there.

@@georgewashington7574 100% this, my golden failed after 2 years, they wanted >$250 to repair it, roughly the same price as a used one. I will never use any UA product again.

Seems like Golden Reverberator mix doesn't really reduce the dry signal in relation to wet. Dry signal is always high even at like 4 oclock, then when you get all the way clockwise when it jumps to cutting dry signal completely. I wish it blended to 100% wet better than that.

Dark star is the only pedal that goes full wet where you can’t heat dry signal. My big sky. Night sky. Skylar and the golden do not. It’s Rare in my opinion

The demonstration is very interesting !👍 Can you tell me, please, how Chase Bliss CXM 1978 vs OTO BAM compare / what would you choose for synthesizers, and what would be the details that would convince you the most? Is the OTO BAM too dark, or the Chase Bliss CXM 1978 too light? I want to buy a reverb unit, from the two units mentioned, and I don't know which one has the reverb effects, of better quality,, which one is more suitable for synthesizers and which offers more possibilities for modeling the reverb effect / without hearing the effect separately from the sound. ! I ask because certain reverb units are better suited for synthesizers, and others are better suited for vocals and acoustic instruments. Thank you !

Both pedals are great for synths! I believe your choice should depend on whether you prefer experimenting with reverb or want a more 'set and forget' types of pedal. The CXM is great for experimentation with its unique hands-on sliders while I find the UI of the BAM less appealing. I tend to dial in what I need with the Bam, whereas I can't resist constantly adjusting the faders on the CXM. But both sound awesome. I hope this helps :)

Quite often the reflections on the OTO are not representative of what was played. I understand the LoFi vintage 12-bit heritage, but if I ring a wine glass like a bell with a spoon, I don't expect the ambient reflections should sound like the ocean such as 9:25. There is a lot of granular hiss in the reflections of the OTO. Just a thought. This is possibly the most comprehensive reverb comparison on YT. Well done.

Would of been nice to actually hear the reverb trails. I think you literally changed every parameter one after the other constantly. Never letting us really hear anything. Turned the decay up then instantly down etc etc
