I love that this video takes exactly 20 minutes!

Can we just acknowledge for a brief moment that Efka's consistency in pronouncing the "!" in "Caesar!" every single time is just...bravo, sir, bravo.

I'm tickled that the subtitles keep rendering it as "Caesar sees Rome in 20 minutes" which sounds like the first episode of Caesar's RU-vid travel show.

This review is a both a hoot and also very helpful, which is what I expect from NPI. You two are the only folks other than SU&SD who consistently hit that mark. Thanks for bringing this game to my attention -- I think it'll be a hit for me and my wife.

I've heard so may great things about the gameplay in both Caesar! and Blitzkreig! I even watched SUSD having a really fun time playing Caesar on Twitch. But the themes just leave me stone cold. If they were set in space, I might be more interested, or if Caesar! was about two swans fighting for control over sectors of the same lake, maybe that would work for me? Or ice cream van drivers trying to control different territories? Just anything that isn't the same old tired themes. Anyway, thank you once again, Efka and Elaine, for a very earnest review! ;-)

I appreciate Efka's comparison of Ceasar! Seize Rome in 20 minutes! and Blitzkrieg! and how he mentions that the former achieves roughly 90% of the goodness with 40% of the tokens/rules/etc. This is a big reason why I'm often pretty "out" on expansions to board games. The base game can be really great, and it really only needs more content or variants or new powers or more cards, but expansions very often add new MECHANICS, which I never felt they needed. I find that when I play board games with expansions, I'm often not liking it as much as just the base game alone, because it adds more fluff, more things to track, more things to think about, more elements to the turn, etc... when it COULD be just as good by adding just some new components and maintain the mechanics of the base game... Anyway, that's a bit of a rant. And it took me significantly less to type out than 20 minutes. I also greatly appreciate that this video was exactly 20 minutes long. Brilliant. Chef's kiss.

Maybe you could start adding information about the game at the start in some sort of on screen thing? I'd love to see for instance how long a game is up front to know if it is something for me.

To be fair, you typically don't notice time passing during a colonoscopy...for good reason
