As a resident of modern Vegas and a newcomer to the Fallout franchise during the Covidquarantine, I was looking forward to seeing how they imagined Vegas only to be disappointed that very little of the story or plot actually happens in Vegas as you say. You spend a lot of time in places that WE never go because, seriously, who goes to Nipton for a hooker (or for anything)? However, it was interesting to see that in the FO universe the notion that "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" because that cannibal casino was pretty spot on with the weird crap that happens in our casinos now.

My current playthrough has been with a anti-NCR, anti-Legion, social justice warrior character. I did Old World Blues and Lonesome Road early on for the perks and items so I could get them out of the way; I rarely bother with Dead Money and Crashing Hearts. I have all the companions thanks to a follower uncapper mod so I can do all the companion quests with everybody. Since getting Boone, I've strung the NCR along. I plan to turn against them by protecting President Kimball and then killing him in front of his own troops, or by killing Alice McLafferty and turning in Heartache by the Number. I first got into NCR's good graces by hunting the Fiend leaders, then nuked them and the Legion upon finishing Lonesome Road so I could get both unique armors. I hunted both Profligates and slavers while using disguises wherever necessary. Even when fighting NCR, I still have standards; I never target noncombatants if I can avoid it. Ideally, I'd like to double-cross House, team with Yes Man, then double-cross the Profligates and kill Kimball (I already offed Caesar when I infiltrated the Fort and upgraded the Securitron army).

(I'm live in Nebraska, which has the least noticable, and most boring accent of anywhere in the world- seriously, there used to be a crap ton of call centers here because of it. Plus I am a very visual and pretty literal thinker, so whenever I hear something like platinum ship, a literal image pops into my head. Platinum Ship makes me smile, which is a less than common thing. Raining cats and dogs is another one of my favorites.) P.S. nice history joke about the legion.

To a fan of Fallout / classic RPG's, this game is the best of its series! Especially when you know where Fallout comes from! Going in unable to be immersed don't come out immersed!

Fallout 3 story is the best for me, cause you just play as a 19 yo kid...or maybe 20. No experience. it makes me feel there's nothing wrong if you're gonna choose a sarcastic dialogue and act dumb like a teenagers cause you are... it's always feel weird to be a trolling jerk as a badass courier or a middle aged married person

The legion are a realistic group. One guy teaches survivors how to make weapons (the danger of knowledge), those guys kill those other guys, all of the rest with sticks surrender. Caesar has been having his EVERY order obeyed. Why would the courier not do it? He thinks.
