A S.W.I.F.T Rescue For A Shifted Load! - I do many shifted load jobs and this one could have ended disastrous. Luckily the load did not go into the cab, or even cause damage to the tractor or air lines. The load had to sit flush layer after layer which was a bit tricky to do with rotators on a 3 lane street in traffic, but with Alex in our 75ton rotator Big Flipper and myself in Hulk, a 50ton rotator, we got the driver rolling in no time.
Originally I was going to let Alex handle this job solo, which he could have done but with more than double the time due to constant re-rigging and re-positioning the truck. Not only did the separate layers need to be dragged back, but they had to be lifted and set precisely back onto each other. By using my truck for the horizontal pulling, it allowed Alex to lift them and set them simultaneously. The less time you spend in traffic, the better.
We used our Bailey's grommet slings for the job, and once the customer gave us the thumbs up it was his cue to strap the load again and head off to Texas. Safe travels driver!
