Trapper definitely killed the alligator, that's why he's acting shady af. Additionally, that "prankster" is a thief and needs to be charged and sent to prison.

@@namansinha701yep because shooting an alligator is illegal in GA unless there’s an immediate threat (like actively eating someone). They are supposed to be detained and relocated. We have a lot gators around where I live and that’s what’s supposed to happen. However there are a few who will just shootem and dump the carcass somewhere while clocking the “relocation” hours. You can go to jail up to a year per alligator, with a minimum of $500 fine per gator.
Something tells me the trapper won’t give up the info on where he released the alligator because he probably didn’t release him. My guess is he either sold him, kept him, or killed him. I don’t see any other reason he wouldn’t tell them where he dumped him. Edit: Also, the neighbors that had the alligator placed in their yard had no idea their neighbor had an emotional support alligator? Really? I find that extremely hard to believe.
Something is completely off about that and the fact it’s legal to keep info secretive, is just bs… like, let the man know where his emotional support pet is for fuck sakes. Wally’s not in the trapper’s jurisdiction if he has a legal owner, The jurisdiction should belong to the owner. It’s like euthanising a cat and saying “Sorry, we don’t know where your cat is.”, really stupid.

@@mwiah46 yeah... sometimes alligators will kill smaller alligators for no other reason than " he can fit in my mouth" so he might be dead but there is still hope
@@Rain-Man915 i mean the whole situation is fishy, if the trapper refuses to give up the location its likely he either killed, sold or ate wally. assuming hes telling the truth then its highly likey he was killed by another alligator as theyre very aggressive towards each other and wally wouldn't stand a chance considering he's very docile. another reason he refuses to talk is because he probably watched wally get attacked instantly after releasing
with this video I am fairly confidant that there are people trying to uncover the identity of the "prankster". If that happens he is in for one hell of a time thats for sure. If wally ends up dead because of this people arent gonna let this go. First the Florida FWC fiasco last year and now this? There is a lot of sick shit being done to peoples pets lately and people are getting real tired of it.
@@alexiron6876 "He starts the video saying he knows" No, what @lordmpfree4564 means is they don't know WHO specifically took Wally, who as in the individual themselves, not what title they hold.
Press charges for what? He doesn't have the proper permits to possess Wally in Georgia (or any of the states he passed through to get there). The person he was staying with has admitted in messages with people living on the cul-de-sac where Wally was found that Wally escaped and that he knew Joie didn't have the needed permits.
To add a bit of context as to why that trapper might refuse to help: within the community of people who take care of alligators and other wild animals, it is well known you can train an animal like this to be calm and respond positively to certain things, but they also emphasize the fact that it is still a wild animal that will never be domesticated. These people do not respect Wally's owner because they believe his behavior to be dangerous and inappropriate, and as professionals i am a bit inclined to believe that if Wally was any bigger he'd be a threat regardless of how sweet he might seem on a daily basis. That being said, you cannot steal someone's pet, no matter if it's a cat, a spider, a tiger or a god damned alligator, there's a big difference between criticizing someone's sense of what's safe and removing the threat yourself when no one asked you to.
Wally was not a threat. He was a docile well cared for alligator. It’s not that deep. The opinions of people who care for wild animals are irrelevant to this situation. Such professionals would understand you don’t release a docile animal into the wild. Especially when the animal was well cared for in captivity. Wally unfortunately was most likely killed and thus the trapper isn’t going to reveal any more details. The person who stole him was a shameless sorry excuse of a person who deserves to be punished.
@@fellipedasilva99 For people who spend their whole lives caring for these animals and learning from them it is, in fact, that deep. It does not justify taking what essentially is a pet and doing with it as you wish, but i am speculating why these people think they're in the right for not disclosing information.
People need to understand that wild animals raised as pets can never go back to the wild. The predators lose the ability and knowledge of how to successfully hunt and the prey don't know how to survive longer then 24 hours. Also screw those pranksters for kidnapping him, hope they get sued for robbery of possession or whatever they can throw at them.
Wally is most likely dead. I want to pass along some important background info pertaining to this situation. If someone calls in a nuisance alligator, a trapper is sent out to deal with that gator. The state of Georgia doesn’t allow relocation of nuisance alligators over 4 feet in length (idk how long Wally was but if he was over that then he definitely wasn’t relocated). Majority of trappers shoot the gator to sell the meat and hide. Some will also lie about the destiny of that gator (Lying that it will go to a good farm, but is actually shot). Hence why the trapper won’t say anything about the whereabouts of Wally. Even if he was small enough to relocate and the trapper was nice enough to actually do that, alligators have been known to cannibalize and attack other alligators in territorial disputes. Dropping Wally suddenly into a swamp with 20 other gators could cause him to get attacked by the others as he would be seen as an intruder. They can also die from too much stress. That psychopath who stole Wally needs to be found and charged for their crimes!
If they shot it in an area like mine you can be considered a criminal if it has not shown violence and its animal cruelty if it bites or attacks then its allowed to be shot for this time the prankster trapper and anyone related is liable by law you have to tell whether it was shot if not you face jailtime life in prison yes even if its an alligator in my area its a crime to shoot first if its anywhere even a loose pet it has to physically shown ill or have a disease to be shot without care this case would not end well in court for anyone who did this or helped trapping under the law where i am
Think of it as someone with asthma they get the only support they had to stay alive taken away by a thief or killer that would ultimately lead if found alive 50 years or less if Dead life in prison as you could of killed someone then and animal cruelty is always a thing added but this case can be taken to court as a-lot of different situations most involve a chance at the, going 50 years in prison the prankster trapper and so on
Sad part is, introducing an animal into the wild is extremely difficult. This alligator is so docile and non-aggressive, he's likely to die of starvation. I think calling the people who kidnapped him "pranksters" is being way too nice.
Luckily gators can go a long time without food so hopefully he is okay in terms of starvation...no telling what might've happened to Wally around other gators that are far from docile :(
Yea a gator can go 2-3 YEARS without eating. With that being said alligators are known to fight a lot…. If the trapper did not get him the other gators likely did.
Remember when pranking used to be innocent little jokes or tricks that you would play on someone? Like a “haha gotcha” moment? Where did those ever go?
What’s upsetting is he’s domesticated (or as much as an alligator can be) and probably doesn’t have much chance on his own. Whoever kidnapped him probably killed him.
What’s so brutal about this too is not only has he lost his pet - but documenting their lives together was this man’s livelihood. This person took everything from him.
@@ErdeZI get what you’re saying, especially with the countless instances of PETA just stealing peoples animals of their front porch just to put them down, but throwing the gator into the neighbors yard doesn’t really line up with this behavior.
The trapper probably isn’t giving up the location of the gator because the gator isn’t alive anymore. He definitely either humanely or inhumanely euthanized it and doesn’t wanna be caught for THEIR mistake. The amount of times the story changed because of them is enough evidence as is. Anytime a story changes abruptly the person being questioned is normally in the wrong/in on it.
That makes sense but it doesn’t. If he killed Wally then why not just say “oh yeah I dropped him off around here.” It’s not like Joe would find him on that wild goose chase. After a while he’d probably just assume the worst. It would also throw the scent off of the trapper himself.
The thieves basically killed this animal and took away a man's pet that was worth more to him than everything else he owned. When people start throwing large ass number for prison sentences around I think they are stupid (someone will just say a "measly" 5 years when they have no concept what 1 year would be like) but for this the thieves should pay big time. Rather than jail time at all I'd rather them be sued into oblivion for emotional damages. I know some men can't fathom their dog off 10 years thy nurses as a pup as the same thing as a alligator but it is. At least to this guy.
@@prestonbobby2200 Yea like I feel that them saying it’s a prank is just a fall back for them to save face because the news articles will call them pranksters instead of criminals
because if we called him criminal at first, one of our question would be why he took the time to do that, and someone would have to say, "maybe as a prank", is the prank funny? no. but is the only think that make sense for now
Trapper isn't giving information about where he dropped him off, because he doesn't want the alligator to be found. This could be for several reasons, my money is on: 1: Alligator died in front of trapper 2: Alligator sustained abuse amidst capture 3: Alligator was shot by trapper using a "Bang stick" These trapper companies are not regulated enough in my opinion
What saddens me more is that Wally wouldn't have been able to defend himself against any other alligators that may try to attack him. So it's entirely possible that he's been murdered by some of the other reptiles in the swamp.
This isnt a prank, this is theft and animal abuse. Pets dont fare well in the wild, it’s a long and painful death of starvation. Ive seen this many times as a vet tech, it’s cruel and unnecessary. I really hope he can be found before it’s too late, but it doesnt look good.
@shannonstibor6967 why the fuck are you guys conspiring and trying to make up some wild theory about this trapper? This guy probably sees DOZENS of alligators a week and he's probably not saying where he released Wally because Wally was more than likely eaten by another alligator/starved to death. I want Wally to be alive. I want him to be brought home. Doesn't mean we accuse a random guy of some shit.
Worst part is, they could’ve easily taken his owner to that area, it’s well established that alligators recognize human voices, had they taken him there and went around with him calling Wally, and if Wally was still alive, he’d probably return to his voice. I’m betting they offed the gator and are just claiming they released it
this is why the owner should sue the tracker, hes very sketchy and I bet he just kills all the animals he is meant to reloacate because its easy and who will know?
These are times where I lowkey wouldn't be mad if the internet some how tracked and doxxed the people involved. If anyone needs a swat "prank" done to them... I'm not saying do it I'm just saying I wouldn't be mad at it.
Stuff like this being classified as mere "theft" really rubs me the wrong way. This is a living, breathing, sentient being, that loves and is loved by its adoptive family, not some common household object you can simply replace. Cases like these should be treated as kidnapping, and punished as such, end of discussion.
im no lawyer but afaik, kidnapping implies that the victim is a individual that can make conscious decisions. i dont think any court would be willing to do that for an alligator. and even if they do, that's going to cause another set of problems. imagine the other pet owners demanding the same protections
I really hope the trapper didn't just shoot Wally and then lied to Joie on where exactly he dropped Wally off. Because why would he change his story to where he dropped him off and then refuse to tell him where?

@@aidan4726 I'm not an expert on trapping, but I wouldn't say it is normal. I guess it depends on the trapper and the animal. Like yeahokay3906 said, not all of them do that. I imagine most relocate. However, this trapper seems very sketchy based on what I heard from the video.
@@yeahokay3806 Yeah, this trapper seems very sketchy. Why lie at least twice and then refuse to give any more information? And I heard there are people that pay for alligator meat and make shoes and brief cases from their hides.
That's what I thought too. Alligators make for really good food and Wally was small enough that this guy could easily just take him home to eat, rather than release him. They don't have to tag the animals or do anything that allows for a follow up. They just need to release them, or at least say they did, and that's that
Saddest part is there's likely a reason the Trapper won't say anything. More times than not Trappers just kill the gators they catch, because releasing it into a pond which already has gators is a death sentence for it. The trapper likely killed Wally :(
I don't think they are killed because they are worried about other gators. Its about them being comfortable around people giving a high chance for another issue with the same gator.
@deadeyeduncan5022 the trappers also make money off of gator hide as well. It's an unfortunate reality. Most of the time, when they tell people the gators are relocated, it's just to appease them.
He could, but there's probably little use. Whether people like it or not, in civil law (torts to be specific), pets are property. So what would he sue for? The value of the alligator. It's highly unlikely to be a windfall of money that people want for the owner. *abbreviated comment because the webpage bugged out.
Why must such a pure soul, sweeter than a dog and cuter than a kitty, be taken out of this bleak world. May lovely Wally rest in peace and join his dad in the end.

@@Caesar2001 inhumane is an adjective. meaning not humane; lacking humanity, kindness, compassion, etc. it is used in the right context. 9:15 a lot of us from Georgia know how to handle alligators if it's ever necessary for whatever reason As a reptile lover & Georgian, it saddens me that someone would do something so irresponsible for shits & giggles
I had been scared of alligators for years, but I love Wally! He's an ambassador. I can't help but still think alligators are really cute in spite of their primitiveness.
Everyone needs to learn to differentiate the difference between an animal that is known for killing all things once it grows to size, to an animal who is domestic and can be seen as a non threat to society.
If I’ve learned one thing from the internet it’s that you don’t mess with the bound between a Florida Man and his Alligator. Those pranksters and the trapper better hope he finds Wally, for their own sake.
i have a theory that it was a pre meditated kidnapping, 3 people so comfortable just TACKLING, THROWING, and capturing a alligator without knowing it was wally. Think of it, she tackled a frickin alligator with no fear first instinct. they must of known it wasn't an alligator that would have not attacked them like wally
considering that they know their neighbor has a pet gator and they call a trapper first instead of checking in with their neighbor is pretty sus as well.
I believe it was maybe premeditated as well, to which in that case it would be called murder what they did to Wally. And I'm not just saying that because I love animals too much - going out of your way (of course, if this incident even was premeditated) to destroy an animal either in some type of "revenge" because it hurt your pet or someone you know, or simply because you just want to kill and leave it there, or because you want to get back at the pet's owner for something, is labeled murder upon an animal.
There's another reason why he might not have - maybe wally got attacked right after he released him and the trapper saw it happen, and just isn't disclosing that it happened out of fear of being held responsible for it. If that didn't happen, he probably would've died of starvation anyway so... unfortunately wally is gone for sure.
I live in Georgia, and I learned this in 8th grade: The Okefenokee Swamp is basically a large freshwater wetland-the largest in the U.S.-and the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge is a reserve that protects the threatened and endangered species and all of the wildlife there.
Kidnapping any animal is low of the low, and doing that with an emotional support animal is possible the worst crime a person can do to any domesticated animal.
I mean one of the worst parts about the "prankster" is that I'd bet the reason he was so comfortable about stealing a gator was they knew it was wally. You aren't going to be scared of a gator that has a rep for being nice, calm, and never biting people. Some people are sick.
Nah, that's not it. From what I've seen the 'prankster' does this somewhat regularly with other gators. People are actually extremely comfortable around alligators because they're often much more docile than crocs. All you need is a brave idiot and they'll wrangle a gator. Don't forget the guy who had a pet gator and threw it through a mcdonald's drive thru window out of anger.
This is horrific. If he was actually released…Alligators have great tracking skills. They’re notoriously hard to relocate because they can get back home even if they’re dumped hundreds of miles away…If he’s not dead, he could be on his way back home. Fingers crossed.
I got to meet Wally once along with his owner, he was nice, mainly met them through having to draw Wally in an art class to practice illustrating an animal. He was scary at first because alligators are intimidating but from the amount of people touching and petting him and his overall mood, he was chill. I hope Wally can be found and brought back to his owner.
Me too! His owner used to walk him around my local mall (we're from relatively the same area in PA) and I met him. He really was a chill little guy and it's a shame he got taken.
I don't think Wally is alive. Apart from other possibilities that we're written by others, there is one many humans doesn't consider. Wally is an alligator and not some human, so he might have died from depression anyways after realising situation he in.
Make my words, the second someone online finds out the identity of the prankster, people are going to absolutely demolish him both online and in real life.
@@flameblastv5151that's what I'm hoping for to. I'm not saying I usually condon this or that anyone should take this as a sign... They’re criminals not pranksters. Broke onto this guys property and stole his pet. Charge anyone you can to the full extent of the law. For example charge the trapper for refusing to say where he sent the alligator. He’s hiding information, pressure him. Bet you a large amount of money that Wally never made it to another pond. He got put down, cleaned and sold. Trapper saw a few thousand/hundred dollars in his eyes and took it. Only way for this owner to soften the blow is to know the idiots who committed the crime lose their chance at good life’s also.
4chan certainly will do something, at least finding who the "prankster" is and sending him pizzas, they do a minor amount of trolling but the public being victims is when they're the good guys like in the burger king foot lettuce case
This legit hits hard for me personally. A couple of years ago Joie came to our church with Wally for a special sermon and at the end of the morning sermon he was at the front entrance hall where we were able to pet Wally if we'd like. I got to pet him and he was extreme calm and chill. Hope we get Wally back 🙏
Note to self: never be part of a feel good story. The internet will always find a way to ruin your life and call you a scammer. The "pranksters" that stole him should absolutely be charged.
There's a similar story out of a small Florida town (somewhere in the Panhandle). He was fully grown and wild, living out of a pond in town or something, but was completely friendly and liked to walk around where people hung out. His name was Blinky bc he was missing an eye, and was pet on the regular by adults and children alike. His favorite food was marshmallows. He got so popular he became the town mascot, but some new person was put into county/state office or something like that and told the town they either had to relocate him or build a 6 foot fence around his pond. They couldn't afford the fence, so they were forced to relocate him. He picked a fight with a bigger lizard (after breaking into the enclosure) and died at the rescue he was taken to.
