Yeah, it’s the elitist of the group, like with homework, y’all say that we didn’t get any but then there’s that one kid that did the homework and wants appreciation so then they’ll be like “I thought the homework was ___” and it’s like b r u h you could spare one gold star (we weren’t actually given gold stars, I’m just being figurative).
One time we didn’t even plan it but the teacher was like “Everyone ready for the test?” And the whole class at once begin to face palm and swear and one kid looked like he was gonna cry. Let’s just say the whole class had forgotten and the teacher decided to move it to the next day for fear of flunking the whole class.
What an absolute amzing freaking teacher afraid of their students flunking and allowing it to be the next day. Now that is what this world needs. God I am so exited for school
@@thatlowrankedguy9549 The teacher was really good, it’s just that all the other teachers where overwhelming us with work to the point that we had forgotten about the test.
TBF if you are the teacher in that scenario you would be concerned you told them the wrong day, too. If the entire class somehow didn't know you would probably question it yourself
Oh wow, my teacher ACTUALLY never told the class there was a test, but then gave it to us anyway because “well, I know for a fact I told you all about it, and even if I didn’t, we need to test today, and you all know what you’re doing so you should be perfectly fine anyway.” And then he wondered why everyone’s grades sucked in his class when he pulled that stunt consistently.
*finishes the lecture* Teacher: Now, it’s time to take the test. *bell rings* Students: yes! Teacher: hold on! The bell doesn’t dismiss you, I dismiss you! *proceeds to lecture them again*
In college we had our history mid term and half of the class was sitting in the hallway before class. I was quick studying with my friend on the steps and neither of us knew the answer so I just turned around and asked if anyone else knew. It slowly turned into a group session of people who knew 1 or 2 of the practice answers all combining our knowledge and hoping it would stick for the test in 5-10 minutes. I really miss campus.
As a preservice teacher, we know when you're gaslighting us. Usually we'll let it slide if it seems like the whole class has come to a consensus that they need the time. Though, personally, I would rather my students just be upfront that they need more time. I'm less likely to be so compassionate if they simply forget (unless there are special circumstances that they made me aware of ahead of time so I could plan for it) than if they are actually having a hard time with the material.
Not related to this video but Imagine the pick me girl in kindergarten "My favorite color is red, not pink like all the other girls" "I like the monkey bars better because im super strong!" "Im not like the other girls! I dont like dollys just dinos!!"
I’m so glad I was homeschooled up until fourth grade when I grew out of that. Because that was literally me. Except the monkey bars part I couldn’t do that, I liked the color blue. But the dinosaur part- literally all I wanted to watch as a kid was Land Before Time, and dinosaur train…
@@im_sour7102 same not the homeschooling bit tho. I was OBSESSED with dinosaurs and my favorite color was blue and I loved the monkey bars that’s what me and my best friend would always do in grade school and still any chance we get we play on the monkey bars
I had this in first grade. She was the fastest girl runner and she pretended all the boys liked her. Still a pick me bitch to this day. She tried to steal my ex from me. When we were in 5th grade I was in a club after school and I was talking with these other two girls and they were talking trash about her. And all I said was “I think she’s trying to take my bf.” and they both ended up blaming me and she sat on his lap, hugged him, and kissed his cheek. She got suspended and we broke up years later because he was toxic✨ Should’ve let her have him ☹️
This actually happened to me in 7th grade 😂 my whole math class agreed to tell the teacher that he said the test was tmr not tdy, good thing he didn’t write it on the board 🤣
I remember one time I was desperate for my band grade bc I was doing absolute dog shit and reminded the teacher that he forgot to collect the homework for grades. Do I feel bad? Eh. Would I do it again? Yes, every man for himself.
Just graduated high school here. Our school the freshman we’re outcast. not a single upper class men would talk to them or even acknowledge them just because they were freshman. But the next year it was all cool because there was another group of freshman to be excluded. (Now that the freshman are now sophomores people would talk to them) This has been a thing since my dad went to high school and he’s 45.
If I went to your school, I'd immediately be friends with a freshman (sophomore rn) especially if I can find someone who is fun to talk to and has similar opinions as me
I graduated with 42 peers my senior year. Our town is really small. It’s not necessarily common, but it wasn’t odd to have Freshman in your class as a Senior. Especially electives, like creative arts or second languages. During my high school season, we had a lot of peers who were the children of our teachers. It was way more common to be kind.
@@caitlynguthrie5641 this was really helpful to read as someone not from the US, i’m from the UK and wondered why the age groups would have classes mixed together
@@Chloe-dv9hf my pleasure! I rewatched the video and felt like I had to add that our school was weird in the sense that they made it impossible to graduate early. You have to have Four full years of Language Arts. And again because we were so small, we would have Freshmen joining AP classes meant for upper class men. And then you had people like me who were even doing College courses in high school because THOSE teachers were both High School teachers and also College teachers (we have a small Junior College). And so as a result, many of us Seniors were left with 4-6 hours of our senior years needing to be filled up with “fluff” classes. Those tended to mix more- like Home Ec, Welding, FFA… wow we’re country AF 🤣💀❤️
@@Chloe-dv9hf it’s not ideal. I’ve been a volunteer instructor for NGO groups since I was a teenager myself. And I can attest that teaching multiple grade levels is very difficult. There are stages we go through where we can’t comprehend certain experiences until we grow into them. So like I did 3rd grade through 6th grade once and trying to keep the third graders engaged with the middle schoolers or trying to keep the middle schoolers from total boredom while instructing the smaller kids. I pulled my hair out.
This video is so fucking accurate omg. I just finished my freshman year and im getting ready to head into my sophomore year, and its SO vital to make good connections with people. Especially kids in higher years that could help you out. Even if you're not hella close with them it still really helps when you know theres a couple kids that could help you with directions, tips, studying, or notes.
Over the years I have had quite a few friends that were a grade or two above mine, all of them would totally do this and I am so thankful for all of them
I had a few classmates like this, except it was in college. I remember in one of my RTV classes we had a big test that day ( don’t remember what it was tbh ) but one guy was well liked by our professor, he convinced her to make the day a review. Fucking awesome.
We had Spanish exams, and my class tried to convince her that we didn't know we had exams that day because she had just come back from being quarantine. We were so close.
Yasssssss, I really want a friend like thattt, I am in yr 9 this year and am super nervous!!! I'm the type of person who GETS REALLY shy and just agree a lot, the more you get to know me, the more I become myself (I also have a very sarcastic personality sooo yeahhhh) and I can get loud and some people didn't recognise me when they first met me 🤣🤣
Oh God my whole class, top set none the less managed to trick our French teacher to not give us a test for three weeks. We all felt guilty afterwards once she explained how stressed she was.
I wish I had someone like this as a freshman. I was (and still am) pretty shy with new people and even if someone talks to me first, it still takes me a bit to actually talk back. Which means I don't have that many friends and I tend to get pushed around a lot. So yeah, it would have been helpful to have an upper class "adopt" me
I wish I could find a shy younger classmate like this, and you obviously have similar interests as me because the pfp- I really hope all freshman next year wear fandom clothes so it's easier to find the mha fans and other weebs
Dont worry! you'll do great. I know you might have already had your first day, but dont worry about it. Do your best, and try to put yourself out there, even if its just a little bit. I cant give any tips on studying, but give it your all and you'll be just fine. Im sure of it!
