Just want to put it here that AmorAltra (the lead developer of the Bob and Bosip mod) has recently been exposed for some immoral actions (overworking his dev team, being in contact with a known groomer, making and commissioning R34 art shipping himself, an 18 year old, with a 16 year old). I'm not gonna elaborate on the stuff here, but you can look the stuff up yourself and formulate your own opinion. Personally, I'm quite disappointed with Amor, because B&B was my favorite mod before Doki Doki Takeover.
Same here Bob and bosip was my former fav mod. Before the drama , now doki doki takeover is my fav mod thanks for spreading around! edit:even tho i named one mod i love other mods
Obsessed with the fact that literally 99% of all these problems could've easily been solved with some basic fucking kindness. There are way too many people online who act out instead of thinking critically, and it is a plague not only on entertainment, but also any other industry as a whole. It's really tragic.
@I gave up on a username so yeah, this exists Your pfp is literally from a game that's rated safe for 10 year olds... Now, of course that Friday Night Funkin' is a mixed bag, and although it is DEFINITELY not safe for children, that won't change the fact they like it too. It is up to the adults to make a functional community, if children find their way in and get themselves hurt then that is a failure on our part, not theirs.
Honestly, i really hate twitter at this point. Literally giving death threats because what? FREAKING CHARTING IN A PIXEL GAME? like what the heck? You gotta be crazy to be literally threatening people to KILL them because of charting, and other stuff. Like thats STUPID? what are you stans? 5 YEAR OLDS? look, I know these are random people on the internet we dont know, but like are you stupid or what? Like shut up and be greatful that theres a good mod! Yeah im 13, BUT IM ACTUALLY SMART!
Damn, it sickens me that some people would go to the point of literally trying to harass a mod creator's family, to the point where even Kade Dev has had enough of it.
Kade Dev isn’t an innocent person either, he recently shitted on how long the fnf team is taking to release the game and got roasted by kawaisprite. They deleted the tweets but you can still research it and find proof it happened.
I've seen pretty much every side of this fandom there is to see. So much art, so much music, so many mods, it's amazing. I've witnessed the most kind-hearted souls telling me that my content makes them smile, that if their day isn't going too well, they can put on one of my animations and feel better. Conversely, I've also had people wish death upon me just because I made something they didn't like. It's difficult to generalize the FNF community, because it encompasses SO many walks of life. I know it started as a love letter to Newgrounds, but now, it can be a love letter to ANYTHING. I didn't even know I could animate until the Friday Night Funkin' animation jam inspired me to. I've made so many friends and improved so much thanks to this community. Sure, it has its flaws, but I'm sure any game of this size would. I'm just glad it exists. Without it, my life would be much different right now.
What makes the Tabi and Whitty controversy so sad is I believe in Tabi's lore, he watched BF battle against Tricky and Whitty, which is what founded his songs.
@@ishuikamakura272 I don't think zeaphinx was saying there was any problem. They were just pointing out an in-universe reason for why Genocide sounds similar to Ballistic and Madness.
But that don't make any sense, since in the Tabi mod, He doesn't know who's BF I understand Sock.clip comparation, since the drama started i watched the Whitty and Tabi sprites and yeah, some of the sprites are similar to the Whitty sprites (ej: Genocide Tabi left and right sprites) But i think the drama started because Sock.clip made the Tabi FNF style, and they didn't credit her in the mod (but i think that was solved)
"Then the April Fools update came out, with the introduction of the best character- I mean, Selever." I appreciate your honesty about liking that doofus.
Fnf's fandom is a victim of a phenomenon most fandoms suffer from, i call it 'accelerated growth' or Ag for short. It seems to have more of an effect on newer communities such as fnf, dream smp, and others, they effect what i call "the fandom lifespan", you know how when a community is new it tends to be humble? But when it grows in popularity it tends to lose its simple charm? Well usually fandoms usually take time to grow and eventually die, but Ag however speeds up this process and i believe its caused by people who are from older communities that may have died down, causing them to join other community fandoms, its like prematuring: when a baby is born too early and dies. The common symptoms for Ag are: hyper activity on twitter, drama and controversy happening in only 1 week and ending days later, mob mentality and the most crucial symptom that truly gives it away: cancel culture.
@@ThePaupepa in fact, it is. I dont think i can call it a phenomenon at this point due to high infection rates, it is more appropriate to call it... *a disease.*
Non of this should be the fnf dev teams fault honestly, they made a game from the very start with the intent for adult humor and the art style and simplistic gameplay were what they wanted to do. If it’s a problem that children have such easy access to this maybe parents should take responsibility and monitor what their children play. This can be said about other cartoons aimed towards adults such as family guy which had a similar problem with a young audience. Everything in this video is valid except for any of the fnf team being at fault in my opinion.
The game as a whole, from the name, to the base theme, to the character design, everything points toward this game not being for children, or at the very least, not only catering towards children, so the fact that people are upset about this game being tailored towards mature audiences, when that's been the whole point since conception, makes me wonder if they really were paying attention to the game itself or just the popularity around it.
It kind of is. If the main character looks like a kid the game will attract kids. And if the game is full of adult jokes those kids will be extremely edgy and immuture. It may not be intentional but it was still their fault.
@@ГнусныйШкольнек Everything that is animated is not instantly for kids, I hate this kind of logic. It’s the reason so many adult animated shows get hate, just cause “iT lOoKeD lIkE fOr KiDs” Also one of the reasons I appreciate Happy Tree Friends
They're still in their "controversial phase". It seems like almost every large fandom always goes through this rage-induced state for about a year or three, harrassing anything that vaguely goes against their collective opinion, and then turning into a cringy mess a couple of months after. After a period of very brief silence from them, they become very calm and collected, sometimes turning into a niche community. I usually wait a while before thoroughly understanding a new fandom, they're usually very unstable, one would even say volatile. You need to have a past to understand the present, as one basement dweller once screamed.
It's like the 2007 Transformers film. If my sources are correct, apparently people sent Michael Bay (and probably some others but I'm unsure) death treats... over decorative flames on a truck. The same could be said for literally anything that doesn't abide to the Generation 1 show. If they look different, some mobidly obese 40 year old manchild (For many reasons, that is an over-exaggeration AND a joke) is gonna go screaming and start speedrunning death threats. Another example could be the Cyberpunk 2077 debacle.
@@yipthr33 One thing that I wonder about death threats, are they even effective? Like, especially coming from fans of a show, game, or book community, do they even hold any importance considering the lack of proof to uphold such claims? And even more so for threats towrds celebrities and rich people, they have guards and more security forces than the average joe, those threats wouldn't even matter, and yet people seem appaled by the mere mentioning of them.
Spete’s channel thrives on toxicity and drama. When the drama runs out, he starts making some. Spete doesn’t see the FNF community as an actual community with potential, he sees a moneymaking machine.
THIS. a good example of this was when retrospecter said he was going on break, but then spete IMMEDIATELY made a video on how the fnf community DROVE HIM OUT of the community and how hes NEVER COMING BACK and how THE FNF COMMUNITY SUCKS etc etc. he was just going on a break but spete was so ready to turn that into drama and content to make money
The dude dose not care what other people say about him. No matter what we say or do he is not gonna care one but about it. He made like 2 to 3 videos saying how he dose not care about it
Funky Fruit Loops. My take on FNF: It's a very good game, it's just that the community is a mess. The thing with Sky brings up the problem with people making NSFW of OCs made by minors and people who don't want that for their OCs. The other problems are the kids and the negativity. A lot of people, including 8owser, noticed and said that this community focuses way too much on the negative stuff. I still think they're right. I do try to spread positivity every now and then. With kids, however... I think they shouldn't be allowed to play FNF and the mods. They do contribute to MOST of the toxicity. Being responsible for what happened with Vs. Retrospecter and Mid-Fight Masses, they also bother mod creators and whine about things not being age appropriate. FNF is not for kids and it never will be. They're part of the reason why many people left the community and cancelled their mod ideas. I don't blame the cute cartoon art style. I blame the parents and the "child-friendly" channels, as well as those who make bootleg merch and ads. Kids being in the community is the reason why gross people like Kodomodachi and Amor flocked here. They do get exposed, which is good, but they're the reason why the community has meltdowns sometimes. I think we can make this community better if we work together and actually take action. Maybe get parents to do their job as parents.
Parents doing their jobs isn't happening, they think a IPad is a replacement for being a parent, so there goes that idea. The children need to go as they are the main bulk of the toxicity, and if we want those "kid friendly" channels to go, we need to get rid of the reason they do this, which is money, the best we might be able to do for the channels is to try and have the creators get the video taken down if their character is in it, I know I would probably try to get a video taken down if they had my character on a poll wearing nothing but underwear and a bra, and it was meant to bait in kids, I would be doing something to try and get that taken down, so maybe let's try to start there? Then again, what do I know, for all I know, they can't take the videos down.
This community genuinely makes me feel sick at times, it's disappointing how much drama happens with little to no god damn reason at all. So many mods getting taken down for no reason, unnecessary harrassment, mod creators doing unforgivable things to minors....its hard to try and focus on the good while there is so much bad happening..
I'm here for the comment section, I seriously do not want to enter into detail with what the fandom has made because good lord I learn a great lesson in the worst fandom I ever met and stay, is that if the fandom is toxic then you are better not knowing what they are doing, at the end of the day all that will be left will be their ashes and our bad memories.
With every major community comes major drama. Honestly the best we can do is focus on the good and stay away from the idiotic. With that said, I am feeling rather hungry for some funky froot loops ngl.
The Retrospecter one was just straight up stupid. As the game creator said he supports any sexualized mods. So the people who complained about it is just straight up kids.
Exactly , even ninjamuffin said fnf is for 13 to older (i think) they probably have never played the main story if they think the moth was "sexist" take a look at mommy mearest
Well as the RU-vidr said, fnf community has a lot of little timmy’s. So that is how the drama started. I don’t play the game but I respect it celebrating a lot of great flash games.
This is the exact reason I like and dislike the fandom of the community, I was planning on making my own mod with my friends, but after seeing this video, I’m not sure if I could feel comfortable posting it. I just hope it wouldn’t get popular, because if there was one single issue, I would probably just get harassed about it. Thank you so much for putting a whole lot of effort into this video. Have an awesome day. :)
Please don't give up on your aspirations because of potential drama. Out of the hundreds of mods made, there have only been half a dozen major controversies. I believe in you to make a great mod :)
I wanted to make my own mod too with help from my brother to promote my books... only problem is I have no skills in actually editing the game files or anything like that and my brother is good with the art and might be able to get something to work with the game... but that's about it. At that point, I'd be supplying him with the characters to use and that's about it... also the fact that neither of us nor any of our friends can make music for this game. Btw, I'm sure your mod will be amazing if you do end up making it, the cases mentioned in this video are a small minority of the outcome of mods!
Why does everytime a game becomes popular the community gets so toxic? I remember when friday night funkin was a just small game i found on youtube and there were a lot of skin mods that were considered great, like the hex mod
"sexist??? where? do you even know what that word means yet timmy?" that gave a good laugh. I love how everyone refers to random children as "timmy" in most cases.
I like how you're showing that you're in a love/hate relationship with the Fandom, and you're not being toxic while explaining the bad sides Funky froot loops by the way
I'm kinda the same. I like some of the music (mostly mods) and some of the art. The humor is dog shit though. As expected of newgrounds and the gameplay....well it's been said before but its garbage. So many games do the "press buttons at a certain time" way better. My favorite is rhythm heaven. And all the drama in the community only makes it look worse. The stupid mod creators putting their shit opinions in tger mod to vent instead of actually talking about it like adults. People harassing others for stupid reasons. Rumors being spread so much to the point where it's hard to tell what's real or not ending up hurting both sides. It's just a giant mess. But then you got the good mod creators that pit their heart an soul into a mod. No hidden stupid "humor" which is actually just a rant. No stupid dialogue form the fnf characters (e.x. a charater would talk and boyfriend would just say "dont fucking care lmao". While this could fit his character, it seems to be written for a lot of fnf original characters. And some from mods. Ontop of that it seems more for humor instead of story sakes. Which just makes it cringe.) And the fans love their work and are respectful. So really...fnf is like any other community. It may have a majority of bad sides but the good sides just make you keep coming back. I still remember undertale being famous for its toxicity. Sadly it seems fnf might be going down that path but more for cringe than toxicity. I like the music but I hate almost everything else. Hope you dont give up on the community just yet. After all...you could always find good friends in it that aren't 0art of the toxic side.
I just don't get it, Why Friday Night Funkin' that suppose to be a fun mod creating game with our imagination but somehow it turn into Serious Business with ton of dramatic that can just Destroy people Life. Where's the old Fnf Community that I knew before and make me decided to join and keep making content about it and having fun with it
No joking, the game is not developed for kids. That's why the community always being childish and dramatic. Now, I don't comfortable with it. People just don't understand what's the purpose of making games, they're acting super weird to others until the drama show makes another episode called "getting canceled 😢" But still, the game is nothing with any problem.
It hasn't gone anywhere dude, Stop focusing on the negatives. There are Thousands of amazing Mods being made every day, You gonna ignore ALL of their hard work and passion because of a few bad eggs? "And that is LITERALLY just the Modders side of things, There's MILLIONS of people that play the Game that have a ton of fun with it, Once again. Stop letting the minority change your way of looking at something"
As an older person in the community because...I can't resist the game and it's amazing and creative mods, I just wish stuff like this would stop, there's literally no point in feeding fires and starting things over the smallest things in the game. I personally stay right the hell away from any social media for these reasons, because nobody is good at keeping a calm mind and solving the issue like a normal person, they all gotta go around telling people they deserve to die or that they hope that they suffer, it's ridiculous how deep rooted this has gotten in such a short amount of time. Just play what makes you happy, and don't let other people be the reason you no longer like something, of course don't threaten people and twist what they say and forcefully drive them off either, just...love what you love for the love of God. Funky froot loops
The drama is not ideal, but people choose to be like this. And it sucks. But everyone changes at some point in their life, so we can only hope the ugly side will maybe get even less ugly over time. And if that won't help, then...I don't really know anymore
@@christianjackson120 we can really only hope for the best as time moves on, I like to think it'll get better, but that depends on the people of the community
@@KentaTheGreat1 You have no taste, just play any SNK game like Metal Slug, FNF is overrated as hell with some pretty some pretty generic, and surface level music, it's got decent art, but that's really it, nothing too special, and the mods are the same rinse, and repeat generic rap beat, and then they amplify in difficulty with no rhythm or fairness, if there was a eurobeat Fnf mod, I would ONLY play that since eurobeat is actual good music. Also, pedophilia runs rampant in the FNF community.
@@slash6814 I like fnf so apparently I have no taste...got it, why don't yooooou, piss off and let people love what they love eh? Man this video about funky fruit loops was actually really good and shined light to many dramas in this community but also took time to show that its not all bad and that there is actually good in this community
It's a bit sad that the FNF modding community is going down faster than a lot of fandoms. Like, I've seen the fall of Undertale and then saw it pull itself back together for Deltarune, but this is just unbelievable. Like, I love the community but it's sad it's ripping itself apart far faster then I thought. So what I would recommend is that if it does come to the community going down in flames, just step out of it and watch the firework show, because that's unfortunately all that we can do if it comes to it... Oh yeah I forgot: Funky Froot Loops. (:
if fnf is anything like undertale community then all the toxic people will one day get bored and leave and then the game will die for a while, and if this is relatively recent then maybe the *deltarune * for fnf will be the full game release where people will come back and just simply start enjoying it, or maybe something a bit further forward in time
There's a mission in Halo Reach near the end of the game where the objective is to survive (it's been memed heavily), and you cannot complete it until you perish. Announcing that you're working on an FNF mod is just activating that mission in real life.
@@icyatlasartworks in some missions Spoiler alert: The noble team slowly dies with each Spartan getting killed,Just like each mod creator getting cancelled one by one If the fnf community dies out over the years it will be just like The last mission where Reach gets glassed
@@unoriginalname5665 oh yeah, I forgot that happened, I also remember that (spoilers) . . I can imagine all the harassers be like "So, we can do whatever we want" and when their mom comes in and sees all the toxicity. They whoop out the belt.
I don't think they'd say that to one of their parents, because the parents know everything about them and can easily punish them. I think the reason they harass people in the first place is because they're anonymous and so can't be held accountable for their actions
I absolutely love the FNF community with all my heart. Thanks to the game, things like Tankman, Madness, and so many other communities have been introduced to me. Not to mention, I still tune into people like Woops to see their opinion on the mods every once in a while. But as for the drama and other toxic parts of this, I tend to turn the other cheek and simply enjoy the talent shown in the mods. And I hope that a majority of the FNF community can learn to adapt this one way or another, as the only reason drama grew was because of people giving it attention.
@@underwirez if you think fnf mods are generic you have to wake up or something bro, they are all unique in their way lmao if you dont like it just keep for yourself
Kind of disapointing how much drama is in this community. Imagine how many more amazing things could be done if there wasn't a civil war constantly. Also Funky Froot Loops XD.
When I was at work one day, I saw a kid come in for his birthday and he was wearing a Whitty shirt. Finding out what happened to the Whitty mod, that kid is probably really sad about where the character went. The FNF community really knows how to ruin things 😥
I'm going to say that some people in the community has egos way too big, imagine constantly insulting and be passive agressive to the people that made the game, put them open source and effectively paving the way of not only mods but the career of alot of modders
A lot of popular modders are people who shouldn’t have ever gotten into a position of fame. Either they’re terrible people, or they’re inexperienced and have no idea how to handle fame without it getting to their heads. Give a 18-year old kid fame for making a mediocre mod that is only flashy, and it’s gonna make him feel like he make some insane breakthrough. That’s why so few popular modders are actually chill, most of them have insanely inflated egos. A lot of them never had any prior experience with popularity on such a large scale, so despite having mediocre skills, they feel like they’re at the top of the world because they impressed a bunch of children with content that is all visual and no substance. It’s no surprise the only modders not involved in drama are usually older or already have professional work experience that keeps them grounded.
This video is what we all needed someone to make so people could really understand what's happening in the community, and is in my opinion the best explanation you can get. O yeah, Funky Frootloops
I wish someone would teach these kids not to go after people online. You can't make them all act respectfully, but I'm sure a lot of them would realize the error of their ways if their parents had a talk with them about it. P.S. Funky Froot Loops
Tbh I don't blame people attacking others online depending on what they did. If it's for simple mistakes or bad charting (which can cone from not being that exsperinced of a game designer which, let's face it...most mod creators probably are.) Then heck no they dont deserve that treatment. Not if they said something hateful like something racist or homophobic then yeah they deserve it. Dont dish out what you cant receive. If they actually did something illegal or disgusting like pedophilia, then they deserve a lot more than being bullied online.
All those kids needed some good old fashioned discipline, but given that a big chunk of Twitter users are exiles from Tumblr since a few years ago, it's safe to assume they never got a minimum dose of attention from their parents. It's probably too late at this point for most of them.
It's like a kid playing with their toys and controlling the story. It's almost like these kids see these content creators as nothing more than playthings, and since anyone can easily voice their opinions nowadays, these kids think they can make a difference by telling what these CC's should do.
I'd like someone to teach kids -under 13- to btfo social media (because nobody reads TOS anymore apparently), especially Twitter. Kids as a whole are often attention-seeking and easily get their feelings hurt (because they're kids), so having people like that in a "fandom" like this is a recipe for disaster.
as a person who left the community, i do agree how its really flawed. like ive been in it when week 3 was just out, it was when the community was kinda small and nice, now...
if you told late 2020 me that the fnf fandom would end up as a toxic cesspool of a community with groomers, doxxers, and underaged children everywhere, i wouldve laughed in your face. but now..
It makes me so sad to see controversy in everything I like. There’s never one game I can play without controversy and I’m getting really fucking annoyed by this. Why can I not do anything fun? It’s not even good to play anymore because of controversy.
Yeah. It sucks. I know exactly how you feel man. Its not even in just games. It's in literally everything. (Well not everything but you get my point). Because everyone has opinions, its impossible to fully agree on something. If their is someone whole likes something, there will always be another who dislikes it. And whilst that might suck, what's important it what you do with that opinion. Attacking others for liking or disliking something is never ok (depending on what it is but even then it can get foggy) like I said before almost everything comes down to opinions. And morals basically relies on opinions. Whether you like it or not, morals will never be set in stone. There can come a time where everyone agrees it's ok to kill anyone you dislike, or pedophiles shouldn't be jailed. Even some laws are based on morals. If not most. The main problem with this divide is what the grouped sides do. Most the time being immature because someone dares to think differently. And eventually this leads to controversy. Which survives off of divide. So sadly...no there will never be a "perfect" fandom in terms of all agreeing on everything. But...there can be good fandoms. Fandoms who realize there is divide but act civil about it and respect others opinions. (Again it depends on the opinions) but imagine...people respecting people who think that waluigi should be in smash and the other side respecting that the others don't. In conclusion....hers my advice. Act civil to everyone you meet. Try to learn from exsperiences. Constantly look at your morals. Did they change? Did you change as a person? It would be amazing if more people treat other reasonable opinions with respect instead of hostility. Take the undertale fandom as an example of what not to be.
It’s shit. I enjoy the game just like most people here but I just dissociated myself with the fandom eventually cus I don’t want the stigma of being an FNF player. All this controversy with devs being pedos, doxxing, racism, etc just ruined it for me. I even had a One Piece and Cartoon Beatbox Battles mod planned but I don’t want to be like these people or even be classed as one of them. It’s just beyond me why everyone can’t just have fun and play games. Why do people always want problems? Why do people hate peace? I feel like it would be beneficial to everyone if we just stopped fnf content here and now. Just stuff it in a virtual box and leave it in internet history. No matter how much we enjoy the game and the good parts of this community, it’s better there than in the present ruining children like bfswifeforever’s life, having death threats thrown at creators and giving trashy people the popularity and following to bully people off the internet as they please. That’s just my take on all this
@@willthehero7747 Honestly dude at this point it's too late to stop FNF content even if you wanted to. Like all fandoms, the Fnf fandom has its good and bad parts. The good being the amount of creative people putting hard work and passion into mods and artwork. The bad being there are so many sensitive people, mainly children, starting unnecessary drama, causing mods and social media accounts to be deleted. I’m glad you had added good along with the bad parts in the video, because there is no completely awful community.
This was a super good analysis on the FNF community! The fact that you went over both the good and the bad sides of it added more professionalism into the video and I really enjoyed it! Also Funky Froot Loops lol
25:06 RecD certainly grew from FNF but Juno...he already had a name for himself. Mostly because he was known for working with Man of the Internet. Helping Alex and his team be it with Art or sometimes busting out his voice for a chorus or as a main singer. (Also I totally agree on loving Juno's content, he does a lot of different game lyricals and he really tries his best to make those lyrics hit the theme of the song. And my personal favorite of his covers has got to be The Labyrinth from TMS, he literally did the one thing the localization team for TMS didn't do. And that was make a fully English version of one of their songs.)
I once complained about Casanova, and while I didn’t get the joke, I didn’t have any bad intentions. Then I was accused of harassing the mod creators and being a terrible person. I was SUPER confused, because I wasn’t aware of the MFM drama at that time. I don’t know why this happened, but it really shows how the community impacts others.
That's the thing. You DIDN'T harass them. If all you did was simply explain how the charting was done badly, then that's not harrassment and if anything they are just overly sensitive if they got upset by that. If you YOURSELF (not sending only one message and others pilled on it) spammed their twitters or whatever with hateful speech then yes your YOURSELF should feel ashamed. Idk why people are grouping literally everyone who disliked the charting even by a little as bad people. It's stupid and another reason why I hate most mod creators. Without actually looking at criticism, how will you ever improve? And if you do just wanna "vibe" and personally fine where your skill level is at, then why get upset at people who don't like it? It's stupid. At this point I'm surprised fnf hasn't become a bigger laughingstock than it already is. Just like undertale and sonic. But ranting aside, you didnt do anything wrong man. All you tried to do is say the mod could be better. And they couldn't handle it.
Honestly, children shouldn't be playing fnf period, considering how adult it is even in vanilla. That's not the responsibility of the creators, it's the responsibility of parents to actually parent and keep their kids from playing things that were never meant for them in the first place.
the game is only 13 months old, and in no time at ALL it quickly became one of the shittiest, most toxic, irresponsible, and irrational communities i have EVER seen. it makes me hate that i like the game at all.
You can just get over yourself and enjoy the game? Like come on how old are you that you let the massive fandom that of course has negative people in it effect your enjoyment? Whatever has happened in the Community hasn't changed my feelings toward Fnf AT ALL, The only thing I feel is disappointment in the people accusing and hurting others. And all of this within a YEAR. Honesty at this rate, this community will burn itself out by the time the full game comes out.
At first when looking at Spete’s videos regarding to the community, I thought he was doing it for good reasons. That is until overtime I realized that he keeps milking the controversy as well resorting to other unorthodox methods of more viewership in which he basically became a damn hypocrite
Half of this shit is why I axed my sorry attempt at a mod super early on, because 99% of the time, you see a mod creator, and it's like "Oh hey, this person did a really cool jo-aaaand they're a scumbag... Great."... And I ain't getting accusations thrown at me just because I wanted to do something for a rhythm game.
Remember the golden rule of the internet; People on the internet will always find a way to pick apart and ruin people's creation because it doesn't satisfy them.
I like how you're showing that you're in a love/hate relationship with the Fandom, and you're not being toxic while explaining the bad sides Funky front loops bro
It’s always the super happy and loving kind of games that are the most toxic, it’s very sad that a game like this has to suffer through endless amounts of drama- Edit: Also DAYUM, how did this comment get higher likes than my subscriber count? LOL
@@boxorak LMFAO, probably, maybe that’s why they don’t have a good childhood. I would say no offense, but come on, they are the one treating Content Creators like shit-
Honestly, I wasn’t aware of some of this drama such as the Community Game one or Spete. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It’s a shame that people have to behave this way and can’t just be civil about it.
I love the mod too but my god Ballistic's mapping was terrible. I'm not calling the song impossible, cause I know it isn't, but double jack staircases? B r u h. I got a sense of accomplishment from beating it, but it took me about 3 weeks of practice and buying a mechanical keyboard lmao. And I can't even do the song anymore. I can still do Foolhardy at least
@@LulfsBloodbag yea not impossible etienne an older rhytmn game player got a perfect score when everyone was like "play whitty mod its super hard" a while back
I’m just glad the official game is still on its way and the devs aren’t letting all the drama get them down. Glad it still has its healthier side of its community and can’t wait to see where it goes after release. Good on the devs to not engage w/ mod drama as well. It’s none of their business anyway. Edit: been scrolling through the comments and replies and have been seeing some of the greatest takes ever. This is the side of the community I am talking about and love. Even if you aren’t a diehard Fnf fan, props to you for not being a toxic jerk like some of the other people on RU-vid. Y’all are great.
I just realized that on the Spete part, Serial Introvert added "ft. Spete" at the end of the part's title even though he's not there for the joke because that's what Spete does. Genius joke.
Funky Fruit Loops Thanks for making this by the way. Im gonna check out your other stuff because a lot of research (tho some of it outdated) was put into this video.
That's why I am waiting for the whole game to release, since I heard that the game will be rated M (Since the FNF crew will add cutscenes and such, we're just playing the demo). That way once some of the parents of these kids see the actual game, they'll take away those kids' internet privileges. It will lessen the numbers of troublemakers.
Friday Night Funkin is a perfect example of that nice things will always turn rotten and that our society as a whole can’t have nice things without tearing each other apart over meaningless points. We all pick sides and shit on each other because we think “oH tHiS gUy Is WrOnG!” even though it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. With the large community of children in the fanbase, we are exposing them to darker sides of society just because they thought “blue haired midget sound good.” All we want is to listen to music and play games while participating in the community for shits and giggles. You know what they say, “what goes up must come down” and let’s just say that in terms of FNF, “the fan hit the shit” and it hit it hard.
7:36 Just saying, just because a chart has jumps and hands doesn’t mean it’s bad. It was mainly the engine not being about to handle said jumps and hands correctly without confusing the player. If the mod had a good input system, I’m sure the whole situation would’ve been better
Eh. That's not always the case though. And I dont believe players deserve all the blame for this kinda drama. Some people just...dont know how to design for a game. In this case "chart". And of course not every song is gonna be good for this type of game. And with seemingly anyone is able to become a mod creator for the game, this just let's inexperienced people do whatever they want for a mod. So theres also that.
@@maximumforce8275 Again, it’s not the actual charts that were a problem, it was the engine that made the jumps and hands really confusing, as some notes just disappeared for no reason. Porting said charts to something like Psych Engine or even osu!mania which don’t have broken input systems make the charts so much easier.
@@TheBeast9417YT yeah. I never said that wasn't a problem because I've heard that Kade engine is dookie. Dunno if it is or not but from what I've seen there seems to be a pattern here. So like I said on top of the bad engine you also get people who arnt that knowledgeable about game design.
@@maximumforce8275 regarding to your first comment, I may agree on the players critisizing the mod creator but their comment should not be in full rage or just being full bully mode to them, and minimally they also should put their opinion to make the mod better, that's the type of critic that would be apropriately fine enough.
Very good and thorough video! I liked the balance between positive and negative as it often feels like commentary videos always seem to focus solely on the negative. Funky fruit loops my friend
Another reason why Spete is so problematic is that, sometimes, he doesn't just play the victim card but he also tries to make himself out to be a martyr for "exposing" pedophiles in the community, yet he never really argued himself out of the Sky controversy. I noticed this especially in his video about ninjamuffin's edgy jokes: ninjamuffin called him a psychopath (which is a bit immature, honestly), so spete used his trademark mental gymnastics to claim that ninjamuffin was only slandering him to protect the community's problematic people in general, including the pedophiles. Oh yeah--funky froot loops!
Wow, learning more about Spete just makes me dislike him more and more. Also, "trademark mental gymnastics" is such a fantastic way of defining Spete's stupid manipulation tactics!
That explains about the retrospecter drama. I wasn't paying much attention to the news and drama, and seeing how creators like him get shut down by stupid criticism is just sad. At least there are still plenty of fans who supports the mod and the Funky Froot Loops community!
The thing against Community Game is that early on during their time recording FNF content they used an external bot (when it was released by Kade Dev) to keep to using for their content as they just watched this bot play the game effectively for them. People didn't notice this at first, however over time people like Flippy essentially exposed this saying they should be honest and play the mods themselves. After some time, they slowly changed to doing so and learning about it (if you check today, Community Game does physically play the game even if he has some difficulty). Also I understand BBPanzu when it comes to not monetizing content (I myself don't like monetizing content based on other people's work such as Minecraft Maps or, as you can tell, FNF Mods). However given how that's his only job, I think a better solution over that is really just Monitizing and paying the modders (the main leader who can split up the money to their other helpers) at least 60% of the revenue earned, meaning he'll be able to keep 40% of that said revenue and has his actual job he more than likely has. But regardless, I think this has been the best current overview of all the drama and all the good work the FNF community has done so far. I hope this gets more views around and people recognize more about what has happened so we can grow and mature from this. 👍
As much as I hate the community, I do hope everyone pulls themselfs together and matures. And I dont just mean players. Mod creators, the original creators of the game, everyone.
@@maximumforce8275 maturity, that's all that's needed to stop this madness and return the game back to its former glory. Sadly, in this day and age not even adults are mature anymore, not on the Internet at least.
I honestly don't think he should have to pay people for PLAYING a game. Or maybe reverse the amounts he's paying so he can keep like, 60%. Still, paying at all is weird.
As a member of the geometry dash community, watching this video was like watching a slightly altered version of it’s community, which is interesting since both games have a very creative center around them, leading to similar situations and dramas.
The fact that you had to correct yourself to a higher number of cut out tweets during the gegcoin and spete section not only scares me but also just goes to show how bad of a person spete really is and funky froot loops :)
im so glad this guy didnt only mention the bad stuff. Because if he did he would had made the community look like its only bad. It actually shows that it has a good side.
I agree with mostly everything except for the fact it felt you were riffing on new grounds and the game for not being kid friendly. Surely you understand that was never the intention of the game?
I am one of the ogs in the fnf community. I was there whenever week 4 came out. Seeing the community slowly decline into madness was really sad. I remember seeing that whitty was being deleted along with agoti. That really damaged my viewpoint. Then mid fight masses got discontinued because some annoying 7 year olds got mad over an April fools joke (casanova). It really hurts my soul how the community has declined into this. I appreciate the ytbers like woops and SillyfangirlOsu for not giving in to the community.
Damn dude, I originally loved that FNF brought back classic Newgrounds icons like Eddsworld, Pico and Salad Fingers. I'm just waiting for a fun and fantastic finished game that the kickstarter alluded to and not much else.
Huh, this was really well done! And I haven't seen anyone else really dissect the Friday Night Funkin' community like this before with all the drama and everything, and you managed to do that while having positives also. and the not saying the FNF community as a whole was toxic. Great video overall, thank you for making this you earned a sub today. :D
But what I don’t get is about when people get mad about the MFM charting. These people need to grow tf up. You’re sending death threats to a creator who works so hard, to give the people what they want. It probably took a long to make the Gospel charting. There’s something wrong with our community. And we need to fix it.
The issues with the sky mod did affect Maddii, as before she deleted her account you could see her mental health degrading. At first she made a post that she was uncomfortable with the art made of sky. She then privated her acc. Her posts got worse as time went on. Eventually she made a live and showed herself urinating on stream while laughing by what many people say. She apologized and deleted her acc. It’s a sad situation honestly because she couldn’t stop the sky art and she was mentally affected by all of this.
Congratulatuons my man. Your the first person to ever really sum up all of fnf in a retrospective/essay! This video was amazing, accurate, and a lot of fun. Definetely checking out what other little funky froot loops you got on your channel
For extra context, the original Whitty mod was privated after the failed #WhitMORE event. The event was originally going to have official Neo, Minus, B-Sides and Corruption variations Whitty, as well as the Carol date week, but most of it was cancelled after the controversy. Recently, Nate Anim8 has said that Sock.clip is more lenient about potential Whitty mods nowadays, and that any previously banned mods will be unbanned, as well as possibly those from the #WhitMORE event. TL;DR Whitty mod event failed before OG was deleted, but Whitty mods are recently unbanned.
I know that Neo whitty is still being replace because in the official Neo twitter, they said they will still replace him. Although, Idk about Minus, B-side and Corruption. But I do see more of Whitty being used, like Aside Whitty
I feel bad about game community and speet’s drama in the community, but I feel confident about how the community grows well and how the moding community is making new mods and updates. I hope the Friday night funkin community become a better place.
