This man knows his cossie engines well and the different stages of tuning. Smart man if I had a cossie and was in the UK I'd be taking it to this guy. He's honest no BS. Tells you straight
Barum engines? Oh dear. We sent a c20xe cylinder head and flywheel down earlier this year and got it back destroyed in a cardboard box after spending time palleting it correctly for sending down. Best of it was the job was a mates car who had suffered a stroke earlier in the year
That Barrum engines full channel is based on problems and issues with engines he’s built for customers (usually cosworths). What kind of engineer doesn’t check their work? That stud is a disgrace. I would have demanded a replacement block! Man shouldn’t be calling himself a specialist when putting shoddy work like that out
The painful bit is we had the bottom end in the car when we found it. We then had to have the full block stripped down bare and sent back. Not a single penny to help with the costs of gaskets etc. how much labor would that be? All cos he didn’t have a long stud to test it was straight
@@onthelimiter6529 it's ridiculous, the fact he offered nothing after his mistake says alot about the company. One to avoid in future for sure. The suggestion of a hammer to straighten it had me spitting out my brew!!!
Omg 😮 that’s like a lifetimes worth of hassle expense and heartbreak all with only 1 car, glad it’s the best of the best now for the lad… nothing funny about this but the way you told that story made me laugh in places 😂 could listen to you all day mate.. you clearly know your onions when it comes to cosworths, also off topic but I’m after a gearbox for my escort cosworth.. is that one in the background for sale perhaps ? Love the channel mate
@@c111prs I know that user name, Mr Cosworth Chronicles 😉 thanks so much for the feedback mate, I watch your content too, doing a great job and I love the 2000’s tunes that’s always banging in the back ground. Both those gearboxes are dead, we just keep em for spares lol.
@onthelimiter6529 thanks mate 👊glad you enjoy my videos too, appreciate it bro! Hopefully one day I’ll be as good as your channel.. and story of my life regarding the gearboxes I’ve 2 dead ones in my parts shed , 3rd gear left the chat on one of them the other I got ripped off on. my current box crunches fifth on full throttle prob due to my b&m short shifter taking out the synchro . Keep on keeping on mate 👊looking forward to the next video
@@seanhammond4527 the cars amazing, hopefully it stays that way now lol. Although the way it’s driven there’s high odds of there been another video on this engine lol
Wike got few to catch up on but goo too see u lads bk & repping proper cars. Have to turn my subtitles bk on tho as iam frm the South 😂. The trails and tribulations of cosworth love. Much respect frm the South 😎🙏👊✌👍👍
@@onthelimiter6529 wey aye sounds like a plan 👍 will be next year now like as going to rip my gearbox etc over winter, can after that no problem. Al hunt my balaclava out for my mug 😂
Alright lads got to see Adam hope he’s well. I remember Croft at Darlo think 2004-6 and a bloke was selling a J plate for £6000 but now the costs are crazy while watching I went on eBay they as low as £30,000 upto £80,000.Your mate must have a fortune in that. They awesome love to see more on them and other old school fords mk1-2’s rs turbo’s I feel u get a lot more views 👍🏼
Interesting story. My mate hexham area had a lot of engine trouble with his g reg 2wd cosworth mainly with the crankshaft. Ended up putting a new crank in from ford think that sorted it .
@@jennycarr6576 I hate to say it cos mine was done right but knowing he doesn’t check his work and seeing how bad that stud was I would have to say no. He such a pleasant chap to talk to tho, can’t take that away from him but I think more focus on the job in hand and less on talking to a camera is required
@@BadgerBadgerBadger28 seems most of the videos are exactly that mate. My engine was long studded by him and its sound, can’t complain. However, having seen this block he done its disgraceful work
Got a s2 rs standard. Getting a bit bored of it set up. Between me and my mate 28 years cost top of your head how much to get 400 bhp rs. Not hold you to it. 10k
@@michaelcotton928 honestly my best advice here is don’t do it. I had a 1.9 power engineering built 250bhp escort and it was undrivable. I would say aim for 200 at most and enjoy it mate
